This has puzzled me for the past few days because once the announcement was made that Ahmed Ghailani had been found guilty of only one minor charge, I expected the media to pounce on Obama’s decision to try him in a civilian court. But then we got >>> ***crickets*** chirping.
Why only a few people have spoken up about this is a mystery to me. Could it be that Americans don’t understand what happened here? I don’t know. If I had more pull with the media in this country I would be shaping the argument along these lines… “Today the Terrorists fought us in court and they WON”.
Eric Holder and Barack Obama need to be held accountable for this massive screw-up, but it seems that not many people really care. I care, and I’m saddened that many do NOT care. Below is a copy of one persons thoughts from an another blog. Notice how this person, who claims to be upset about the verdict, doesn’t show any anger or passion.
God help us if we have lost our will to fight.
Obama and Holder got there way and tried former Guantanamo Bay detainee Ahmed Ghailani in civilian court. Not guilty in federal court on more than 280 charges in connection with the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
The best witness for the prosecution was not allowed to testify because they found out about him while getting Ghailani to talk.
Ghailani was the explosives buyer allegedly.
From the article below:
“The day before the bombings, Ghailani boarded a one-way flight to Pakistan under an alias, prosecutors said. While on the run, he spent time in Afghanistan as a cook and bodyguard for Osama bin Laden and later as a document forger for Al Qaeda, authorities said.”
Thankfully they did pin one charge on him or he would be exonerated completely.
He was found guilty for only one charge, conspiracy to destroy government buildings.
