Nelson’s 30 Pieces

Senator Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) played Hamlet for days on the Senate healthcare reform bill, feigning a righteous stand on principle against the bill’s funding of abortion. But it turns out that Nelson is for sale, just like his colleague Mary Landrieu (D-La) whose price was $300 million. Nelson’s price is even higher.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Here’s Ben Nelson’s “30 pieces.” Read this and weep for America.

From: “SOLD: SEN. NELSON’S BRIBE,” By Publius at

…the outright bribe extracted by Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Corn Huckster State) from Sen. Harry Reid. As a result of Nelson’s performance in his role of Hamlet in the health care deliberations, we will have two health care systems in this country; one for Nebraska and one for the other 49 states.

In its quixotic attempt to ensure everyone has health insurance, the Reid legislation greatly expands Medicaid eligibility. Because Medicaid is a program whose costs are split between the federal and state governments, this expansion in eligibility raise costs dramatically for states. States will be forced to either raise taxes or cut other services to accommodate the forced increase in Medicaid spending.

Unless that state is Nebraska.

…Nelson’s bribe….the federal government will forever cover the costs of Medicaid expansion in Nebraska. Taxpayers in every other state will forever be responsible for the expanded Medicaid program in Nebraska.

Nelson also secured an exemption from a new insurance tax for non-profit companies in his state. Mutual of Omaha and Nebraska’s Blue Cross/Blue Shield won’t have to pay a tax other companies will be required to pay.

Hope and change…BS! Pay for play Chicago politics as usual. 11/10 can’t come soon enough…(I might be using this phrase often)

Mary Landrieu sells out! Found this youtube video. Louisiana Tea Party members said ” At our Town Hall Event – the “Voice of the Citizens” – we promised Mary Landrieu’s District Coordinator that we were going to run a commercial comparing her to Judas for accepting Harry Reid’s 300 million dollar bribe”. Believe me, nobody’s moving to Nebraska for the health care.

I think Nelson should be banished to Alliance, NE for the rest of his natural life. That’s worse than Siberia.

Well, know one in their right mind would move to Nebrasks…a rhetorical question.

Hear that Huck is going there tomorrow to ask Nelson to vote no. We’ll see how much good that does…

Here’s how to get 60 votes. Just bribe away…….

Last I heard, the US Constitution is still the law of the land. With that in mind, consider the following quote from Article I, Section 9, paragraph 6: “No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another; ……….”

This is obviously a “regulation of commerce” and a “preference” therefore in direct opposition to the law as stated. It will just be messier to clean up after the fact. The use of the conjunction “or” separates the phrase into two distinct issues.
