The Leftist History Channel

14 12 2009

Last night I had the dis-pleasure of watching a program on the History Channel titled “The People Speak”. I had seen one commercial that advertised this program so I thought it may be about the forming of the modern day Tea Parties, and how Conservatives had finally found their voice. Boy was I wrong!

Having never heard of Mr. Zinn or his book “A People’s History of the United States” had no idea what I was in for. It started off well enough, then Zinn’s hatred of our Constitution starts to sneak out, and I have admit I was thrown off at because of their artistic use of well known musicians, poets, etc, reading letters of people from our past. Once I got through the fog of mis-direction, I knew what was going on and I didn’t like it. Not one damn bit!

The only thing Mr. Zinn seems to be interested in is pointing out how bad the United States has been and still is. His show was two hours of telling America that our history sucks and we should be ashamed for what happened in the past. He does not hide his dis-taste for his country. And his reason for doing this… he wants more people to raise their voices and their fists to fight for social justice. This is code for damn near anything that Progressive/Marxists support.

As a History Channel fan this was the most disappointing program they have ever aired. Leftist propaganda has become main-stream so be aware of the left using these tactics to brain-wash our kids to hate their country. If you read below you will notice that they are more than happy to put on this very same program at schools. This should ONLY happen if the school allows another program to come to their school that shows the great things that average Americans have done in this country that could have never happened in other countries. If schools do not allow this balance, then Zinn’s little show needs to stay the hell home.

The People Speak is working with Voices of a People’s History of the United States, a nonprofit started by Howard Zinn that seeks to bring to light little known voices from U.S. history, including those of women, African Americans, Native Americans, immigrants, and laborers. By giving public expression to rebels, dissenters, and visionaries from our past — and present — we work to educate and inspire a new generation of people working for social justice.

The goal of Voices is to encourage civic engagement and to further history education by bringing the rich history of the United States to life through public readings of primary-source materials. Voices works to remind people of the eloquence of ordinary people, as well as extraordinary and well-known figures from our history.

I was forewarned about “The People Speak” and watched the show about dinosaurs instead. At least the dinosaurs were upfront about their agenda : all they cared about was sex, food, and self-preservation.

“No free man shall ever be de-barred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against Tyranny in Government”
