Dede backs Owens. I am shocked and appalled!!! No…not really. I think we’ve all saw that coming.

Yeah, what else would you expect from a RINO. Good riddance to her and all RINOs…

A few funny comments I read about DST at this link:
http://comments.americanthinker.com/read/1/465592.html

“I’m glad we’re done with daylight savings time. All that extra daylight is the real cause of global warming.”

“I am not turning our clocks back, the sooner I can get to 2012 the better!”

“Maybe on Tuesday some voters can turn the clock back on Obama and the democrats, that would be sweet.”

“I bought a clock that adjusts itself, so I don’t even have to think about it. Sadly, I bought that clock right before congress decided to change DST, so my clock has been turned back since last Sunday, I’m way ahead of you all ;-)”

A picture of a noble Indian elder looking off into the distance. It says the following:

When told the reason for daylight savings time, the old Indian said, “Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the bottom of a blanket, sew it to the top, and have a longer blanket.”

I’ve been trying to come up with a conservative logo, as I think I’ve mentioned here before, and I think I’ve got a fairly decent idea. Everyone seemed to like the bald eagle theme, which I think perfectly symbolizes everything conservatives stand for: strength, pride, patriotism, values, unity, etc. I also mentioned that outside of the two I previously put together earlier, I was still looking for something a little artsier. I created the “logo” (below) with that in mind.

So, if you’re inclined, please critique this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sgtkey0811/4067263030/sizes/l/

I have several variations of this same logo; a “chrome” version, a “neon outline” version, a “plastic” version, and several textured versions for use in various mediums. Coupled with the right fonts and graphics, I think they could work in signage/posters that would be truly grassroots. As an example, I made this poster: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sgtkey0811/4067234240/sizes/l/in/set-72157622552346145/ for which I have the tagline: “Youth of America, join us for a better future.” This is a demographic that really needs to be educated about the Progressive agenda, and in a way that speaks to them without being patronizing or dismissive. Again, I’m looking for critique.

I don’t know how you all feel, but I suspect there will be more tea parties, and more grassroots uprisings by rejuvenated Conservatives as time goes on (and Democrats continue to shove unwanted and unhelpful policy down our throats.) Gio and Eo have a blackboard here that I’m sure generates a good bit of traffic; and maybe, if they’re willing, we can get our ideas first illustrated around a contiguous theme (a logo) and varying messages for people to download and create signs for display at their home (like Bob’s-great sign btw), or at tea parties and rallies all across the country. So, I’d appreciate everyone’s thoughts about this proposition and your ideas for posters. There’s nothing in this for me -other than hopefully a Conservative sweep in every election between now and 2012- and there’s no one backing me in this “effort”.

Bob,

The poster you did is amazing, I mean really impressive!

To be honest with you I’m not sure you will need a tag-line. However, the one you have come up with is pretty good. I’m not 100% sold on the exact wording but its damn close to perfect. My first reaction is/was, you have identified the one and only group we need to convince… the youth vote!

Bob, Great Logo, amazing poster.

Would be nice if there was a way to show the eagle defeating the GOP lame elephant or the new DNC kick ass logos. I realize that is to complicated to be effective as a logo though.

Thanks for the comment on the sign. The credit for the sign goes to whoever put up the billboard in MO., I just copied it.

Gio and Eowyn thank you for putting it up on the site.

Bob- the logo might be a bit busy, but the idea of a eagle attacking the elephant and donkey is a good one. I’m certain I can work that into a poster! That’s exactly the kind of ideas I’m looking for.

As an architect, it’s my job to listen to the desires of my clients and transform them into a viable layout and present it in a visually pleasing way. This is not all that different- in fact, my company tagline is “Vision, Form, Function” and I try to use that as a guide for all of my “creations.” I think I can “form”ulate your vision into a “function”al poster… Keep ’em coming!

Bob- using your idea, I put together this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sgtkey0811/4069451070/sizes/l/

Excellent! LOL

There is a new logo for the dems, It will take me longer to find it but will show link when I do.

CPU sounds good.

Wow! I had thought that depicting an eagle attacking an elephant and/or donkey would be kind of busy, but what you’ve conjured up is amazing! I love it!

BK,

What about using this graphic in place of the GOP Elephant?

Found it, this link is to a video about the power of iconography, at the 4:00 minute mark he shows the new Dem icon. (was on The Obama Files)

2 11 2009
Bob

So OK the video came up instead of just the link. Sorry Everyone did not mean to expose everyone to the “O” icon.

Bob,

No worries about the eye burning evil emitting logo, I never even saw the foul thing!

That was for me a very instructive video. I would bet if you showed that video to 1,000 liberal democrats, that 999 of them would say it was silly paranoia. Sadly, I would also bet if it was shown to a 1,000 Republicans that at least half of them would say the same.

I on the other hand, understand the power of branding as a tool. It’s no wonder the Obama administration wants the NEA to work with them to come up with pro-Obama propaganda, or what they would simply call “art”.

We need to pray tonight that tomorrow is the start of a turn-around that leads to an awakening!

Thank You Gio.

I found the video informative also, funny thing was it was while BK was starting work on logos. It struck me as one of those times when you realize God is always around to help us when we listen and need ideas to promote his will.

Thanks for the video, Bob!

Gio and I had spoken to each other about the importance of “branding” and how we can change the negative “brand” of the GOP. So this video is most useful!

You’re most welcome! πŸ˜‰

Bob (bkeyser),

That’s a GREAT eagle logo! And your idea of using that as a template for future variations is terrific.

In the interest of disseminating that logo, I’ll try to remember to include that logo on every post I put up. And, if I forget (which I’m sure to), please remind me!

2 11 2009
bkeyser

I need a name -well, not me, specifically. I actually have a name ;-). But the logo. I’m thinking “Conservative Patriots United” or “CPU”. Thoughts?

And Eo- I emailed Gio with a proposal last evening. He mentioned he wanted to get with you about it so if he hasn’t yet, be sure to ask him about it, ok? Thanks.

Bob,

I emailed Eowyn approx 10 minutes ago about your idea.

Ok Gio. Let me know what you guys think.

New poster above (14:42), btw. This one based on Bob’s suggestion.

Eowyn

Bob (bkeyser),

Just read Gio’s e-mail. I think it’s a TERRIFIC idea!

P.S. On another matter, how would you like to be addressed? I know your “alias” here is bkeyser, and your first name is Bob. But then, we have another Gio’s World regular also named Bob! Help!

2 11 2009
Eowyn

Ummm, bkeyser….

Can we have initials that are not CPU or CP-anything?

I’m a political scientist (among other labels), so when I see CP, I immediately think “Communist Party” — as in CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union).

Sorry 😦

2 11 2009
bkeyser

Yeah, I thought about that. That’s why I’m asking for suggestions.

And BK is fine- then there won’t be any confusion.

Eowyn

BK,

How about Conservatives For America (CFA)?

2 11 2009

Or we could drive liberals crazy by calling it The American Conservative Union.

BK, see my response above (17:32:09).

Gio, I love your idea of ACU. LOL

2 11 2009

We need to begin Operation RINO Rid. I’ve found that a RINO infestation is much worse than a flea infestation. At least we’ve been able to get rid of the fleas. Just in case anyone is wondering, I DO have a dog! πŸ™‚

2 11 2009
Eowyn

Muffin,

Dog/cat fleas have this over RINOs: They’re not wolves in sheep’s clothing. Unlike RINOs, fleas are honest about who they are!

2 11 2009

missmuffin,

LOL… What, did you think… that we would think… that YOU had fleas? LOL!

Gio-

Love the RINO! Nice job. I also like the ACU idea- the libs would be all over us for that. I did another one for the CFA though, so take a look all and let me know what you think of this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sgtkey0811/4069700139/sizes/m/

2 11 2009
Bob

BK, I like it. What about using red and blue for the letters, red-blue-red or blue-red-blue?

2 11 2009
Eowyn

BK,

I agree with Bob about the letters needing red-blue colors.

I like Gio’s ACU idea.

CFA (Conservatives for America) makes me think of accountants, as in CPA. Boring! πŸ˜€

2 11 2009
giovanniworld

I’m afraid the letters make it far too easy for the left to use them to represent something very foul sounding. C-F-A… now use your imagination… See what I mean?

Ok, I know that’s being a bit silly, but on the other hand it’s a serious consideration (especially if you don’t like being called names).

Houston, we have a problem! At least with my idea. Read this…
