Immigration Reform – Here It Comes

12 10 2009

We knew this was going to get started sooner or later, I just had no idea it would be so soon. Now the question becomes… how many people have changed their minds since the last push for immigration reform by the Bush administration?

illegal1First let’s clear something up before proceeding. When you read or hear the words “Immigration Reform” you are reading/hearing the Politically Correct phrase for “Illegal Immigration Reform”.  I can make this painless for anyone curious as to where I stand… If you are NOT here legally, you are NOT eligible to be a part of our immigration ranks, and should be sent home within 90 days of capture. After reading the short blurb below, please take the Poll at bottom.

I love this quote from “Illegals USA”…   “AMNESTY means never having immigration enforcement!”

October 12, 2009 (WLS) — More than 150 Chicagoans are on their way to Washington DC on Monday night to lobby for immigration reform.

They marched to Federal Plaza late Monday afternoon before boarding buses for the trip.

Several thousand people from across the country are also planning on traveling to the nation’s capitol for a rally on the west lawn of the capitol on Tuesday. It coincides with reform legislation that Chicago congressman Luis Guitierrez will be introducing in the U.S. House.

Yes!

I’m sure Eowyn and most of us here could easily propose something smarter.

Latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that:

–56% say the policies of the federal government encourage people to enter the United States illegally

–Only 27% disagree

–And 17% (they’re zombies) are not sure.

for all of you who don’t have a dictionary this is what amnesty means: a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense. Immigration Reform carries strong fines to those who broke the law, now breaking Current Immigration laws is a civil offense not a crime.
This reform proposes to stop all kind of encouragement for future waves of illegal immigrants, amongst other things it recomends tougher penalties against employers who hire undocumented aliens, a mandatory use of E-Verify, more secure borders, etc. I advice to research on the topic a little bit more believe me for those looking for a true, it would make sense.

ErG,

I suggest that you lower your snooty arrogance quotient, because you are woefully ignorant.

In 1986, none other than then-President Ronald Reagan signed a one-time amnesty bill — the Immigration Control and Reform Act of 1986, granting an unprecedented amnesty to aliens who had resided in the United States since before 1982. [Go “google” this yourself.]

Did that stop illegals from coming in? No! In fact, they came in ILLEGALLY in even greater numbers.

That is why conservatives do not trust any talk of “amnesty” by any politician.

I usually go 5 or 10 miles over speed limits. Most people I know do the same thing. This is ILLEGAL. ILLEGAL. We should all be thrown in jail because it’s ILLEGAL. That is your point here, right? They are doing something illegal so therefore should be punished? Is it safe to assume you follow every law in the United States?

In 2003 the government received over $60 BILLION for social security from illegals. That is money they never have to give back. Why not make a post about that? Why doesn’t everyone attack the government about where all the free money is going?

Last year illegals contributed somewhere around $450 billion. The amount to send illegals home is far less. All that money they contributed pays the same stuff as you. Police officers, firemen, public schools, and the hundred of other things tax money pays for.

Stephanie,
Where did you get your information on the contributions by Illegals?

I Know for a fact that most illegals play musical chairs with their family members and the fake ID’s they use, their purpose is not to help our economy, It is to send funds home to the family so they can support their ranches and businesses so they can live wealthy in a poor country. They spend no more here than necessary to survive.

On another note, If the Illegal workers were gone, the unemployed legal americans would be able to get those jobs!!!!

BTW, 5 miles over the speed limit is not breaking any law in Florida if you don’t put other drivers in Jeopardy, all you can get for it is a warning….

Stephanie,

By your logic, since murder is illegal, that should be okay too?

Have you considered the matter of JUSTICE and FAIRNESS? — as in the millions of people around the world who desire to immigrate to the United States, but respect our laws and actually apply to immigrate here and patiently wait their turn?

According to the countdown clock on your blog, you are going to be moving to Mexico in 73- days.

LOL-Why not just move to California and wait a year or two?

Same thing, really. 🙂

Bob,

you write “It is to send funds home to the family so they can support their ranches and businesses so they can live wealthy in a poor country.”. Nothing could be further from the truth. As an american who has lived the last 25+ years outside of the United States and who now lives and works in Central America, all of the illegals that I know off send whatever they can home to families who could not survive without that money … I know of no “ranches” and noone lives wealthy here except the hopelessly corrupt (and of course we gringos). Having rebutted your view, I must say that illegal immigration is a major problem we need to address and illegals should be sent home. I brought my second wife to america the slow way through long waits and green cards and immigration interviews. America is a land of immigrants, but it used to be immigrants who came to us legally.

Jim,

Thank you for the rebuttal. I was remiss in including those who send funds back to their families who could not survive without it. I was in a ranting mood and lost control of my thoughts. However I do know of some illegals that boasted of their ranches back home. It may also be that they were drug dealers, hence your reference to corrupt.

Respectfully sorry, Bob.
