Palin Bashing x 2

30 06 2009

Pay close attention to this photoshopped pic. Sarah may be fair game, but I see no reason to do this to her baby. It’s so tasteless that you just know it had to be put together by a liberal. UPDATE: Comments at bottom.

palinburkeLocal Alaskan political watchdog and blogger Linda Kellen Biegel is in the middle of a project. She’s working in virtual obscurity in Alaska, to get email records released that she feels will reveal questionable communications between the Palin administration and a local gossip columnist, and a local pro-Palin conservative radio talk show host. Palin herself has appeared on the show many times, in addition to her family members, her lawyer, her spokeswoman and various other members of the administration.

The talk show host in question, Eddie Burke, recently showed up at an Anchorage Assembly meeting to give public testimony about an upcoming Municipal gay rights ordinance wearing this.

Biegel believes the release of these emails will show a concerted effort between the Palin administration and these two members of the media to coordinate attacks on local watchdogs. She won’t know for sure until she can pay the $5500 the state is charging her for costs associated with her records request. Last week she began a fund drive to raise the money online, and each night posted a “thermometer” showing the progress and featuring a different image.

Here’s where the fireworks begin. On Tuesday, a picture of Palin holding up her son Trig during that famous speech at the RNC convention became the thermometer graphic. Only in this picture, Trig wasn’t Trig. In the image Biegel used, the governor is cuddling a photoshopped baby with the face of Eddie Burke. Disturbing, yes, but meant to illustrate the governor’s strange and cozy relationship with this controversial Alaskan figure, according to the blogger.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the aisle, an out-of-state pro-Palin blog expressed outrage. At first they did not realize what the face was, as those outside of Alaska were not familiar with the visage of Eddie Burke. But after finding out, one of the bloggers at the site was featured on the Eddie Burke Show in Alaska and expressed the fact that her readers were outraged. This image was making fun of a precious special needs baby, she said. An hour of Burke’s radio program Wednesday was dedicated to discussing the issue and callers weighed in from both sides. Biegel was called on to apologize to special needs kids everywhere, and the Democratic Party was called upon to renounce Biegel, who had been Alaska’s state blogger at the Democratic National Convention, but whose official relationship with the party ended there.

Today, Meghan Stapleton, the governor’s spokeswoman issued a strongly-worded statement:
Recently we learned of a malicious desecration of a photo of the Governor and baby Trig that has become an iconic representation of a mother’s love for a special needs child.
The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling. To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democrat Party blogger for Alaska, should be ashamed of herself and the Democratic National Committee should be ashamed for promoting this website and encouraging this atrocious behavior.

Babies and children are off limits. It is past time to restore decency in politics and real tolerance for all Americans. The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for its party. We ask that special needs children be loved, respected and accepted and that this type of degeneracy be condemned.

Neither Stapleton nor the governor had commented on a similar photo that had been photoshopped using that same image to show Palin cuddling a baby with a David Letterman head last Friday, points out Biegel who says the photo is obviously making fun of Eddie Burke and the governor, not Trig.

Tactics have changed. This is not a battle of the Titans, but more like Titan vs. Hedgehog. One thing sure to come from this latest turn of events is the evidence that Palin has changed her tactics, and that right or wrong, Linda Kellen Biegel and her blog will be better known by the time it’s over. And so will Eddie Burke.[end]

I almost forgot to include the classy comments from the people that read this story. It’s gonna be real easy for you to pick out who the Democrat liberals are…

“Palin “services” Alaska as the bull “services” the cow.

“And behold, the star shone over the stable in Wasilla, leading the Wise Men to the place of the Child’s Birth. They came bearing gifts – clothing made of the finest silks …. and leathers, assorted haircare products, and 5″ red heels. And the Holy Mother said, it is good. They rejoiced together, and the angels sang in the heavens above.” The Palin Chronicles 1: 13-15.

Team Sarah is a total joke. Nothing but a bunch of rats on a sinking ship. You should join that site just to see what lunacy is going on there. It is amazing and bizarre.

NO! That’s the LAST thinng anyone should do is join Sarah’s site to give her more hits for her site, and more of a population count.

Absolutely NOT. Nice try though Team Sarah!

haha. dood, i can’t stand sarah palin.

Isn’t it interesting that according to a time-line of how BOTH (and the David L ) of these ‘ faux ‘ outrage events took place there was chatter and talk on that Conservative website the night before with a ‘ Plan ‘…?

Sarah’s followers only look at pictures. I think something in their bylaws prohibits them from actually reading anything. They are only allowed to spew the skewed talking points provided to them by their master handlers. Ever notice they never have any facts to back up their accusations?

Palin has become a living breathing SNL skit, replete with her goon Meg Stapletounge.

Oh please. She trots out her kids whenever necessary then is outraged when a photo, that is public not private, is photoshopped to make a point for someone else.”

Sarah Palin Violates the U.S. Flag Code

by Rogers Cadenhead

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 08:02 PM

The August 2009 issue of Runner’s World includes a Q&A with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin about her lifelong interest in jogging. The interview reveals that she took an unreported fall while running with the Secret Service before the vice presidential debate and describes how Sen. John McCain loves being up a creek:

I used to joke around with John McCain during the campaign about coming jogging with me. And once I asked him what his favorite exercise was, and he said, ‘I go wading.’ Wading. He lives on a creek in Arizona, so he goes wading. That cracked me up.

The most newsworthy part of the story is probably the last question, where she affirms her support for Title IX, the gender equity law that requires schools to offer as many programs for female athletes as for males:

Is there anything else the world should know about you as a runner?

The only other thing I’d like to add is I’ve been very fortunate to be a recipient of all the efforts people put into Title IX all those years ago where girls got equal opportunity to participate in sports and extracurricular activities because sports growing up were my world. I’m so thankful for Title IX allowing equal access to these opportunities, and I’m a huge proponent of girls being able to realize what they’re made of by participating in sports and whatever I can do there I’m going to be doing.

The story includes eight photos of Palin in running attire, and the last one shows that Palin still has a knack for turning a harmless publicity stunt — like pardoning a turkey — into a potential black eye.

Photo of Sarah Palin and a flag in Runner's World

Palin’s violating the U.S. Flag Code, which you can read on the American Legion’s site, in how that U.S. flag is treated in the photo. Under the heading Respect for the Flag, the code states, “The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.”

Though adherance to the Flag Code is optional, some people take it pretty seriously, as the American Flag wall of shame demonstrates, and a lot of them are in what Palin would consider the “pro-America areas of this great nation.” You shouldn’t drape it over a chair like a cover you bought at Bed Bath and Beyond.

It’s a wonder that Palin hasn’t shot her publicity team from a helicopter.

Shut Up, Guv Sanford!

I'm beginning to loathe this hypocritical narcissistic joke of a governor

I'm beginning to loathe this hypocritical narcissistic joke of a governor

Will someone please tell disgraced SC Governor Mark Sanford to shut the hell up?

The more he jabbers, the deeper the hole he’s digging for himself — and the more he’s a distraction from the real problems of his party and the country.

News to Mr. Sanford:

“No one is interested in hearing how so in love you were/are with your mistress! For cryin’ out loud, you’re a 49-year-old married man with four sons, not some pimply-faced teenager. Grow up, already.”

AP Newsbreak: SC gov ‘crossed lines’ with women

By Tamara Lush And Evan Berland, Associated Press Writers June 30, 2009 – http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090630/ap_on_re_us/us_sc_governor

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford declared his Argentine mistress his soul mate Tuesday but said he is committed to reconciling with his wife in hopes of saving his family and what is left of his political career.

Sanford, who also admitted meeting his lover more times than he had previously claimed, told The Associated Press in emotional interviews that he “crossed lines” with a handful of other women during 20 years of marriage.

But he said he never went as far as he did with Maria Belen Chapur, the woman at the center of the scandal that has derailed his once-promising political future.

Even with the latest revelations, Sanford maintains he is fit to govern and has no plans to resign. And he insisted his relationship with Chapur, whom he met at an open air dance spot in Uruguay eight years ago, was more than just sex.

“This was a whole lot more than a simple affair, this was a love story,” Sanford said. “A forbidden one, a tragic one, but a love story at the end of the day.”

During more than three hours of interviews over two days at his Statehouse office, Sanford said he is trying to fall back in love with his wife even as he grapples with his deep feelings for Chapur.

Sanford detailed more encounters with his mistress than he had disclosed during a rambling, emotional press conference last week. The new revelations Tuesday led the state attorney general to launch an investigation of his travels, and some are calling for him to step down.

Among the encounters was what he described as a farewell meeting in New York this past winter, chaperoned by a spiritual adviser and sanctioned by his wife soon after she found out about the affair.

But he saw Chapur again, this time over Father’s Day weekend and after his wife expressly told him not to, leaving the country without telling his staff and instead leading them to believe he was hiking the Appalachian Trail.

By the time he returned to a puzzled public, staff and family, his public image and emotional state had unraveled. He admitted the affair at a press conference televised nationally.

Sanford told the AP he saw Chapur five times over the past year, including two romantic, multi-night stays with her in New York — one in Manhattan, one in the Hamptons, both paid for in cash so no one would know — before they met there again intending to break up.

He said he saw her two other times before that, including their first meeting.

“There was some kind of connection from the very beginning,” he said, though neither that encounter nor a 2004 coffee date in New York during the Republican National Convention were romantic.

Their relationship turned physical, he said, during a government trip to Brazil and Argentina in June 2008, and when he returned the e-mails they had exchanged for years began to reflect their anguish over what they had done.

“Now I am frightened,” he told the AP, describing his state of mind at the time. “It was before safe. But now it’s not safe. We gotta put the genie back in the bottle.”

He has said he will reimburse the state an undetermined amount of the more-than $8,000 in taxpayer money spent on him on the trip, and he insists no public money was used for any other meetings with her.

He and wife Jenny, parents of four sons, say they are trying to reconcile their marriage but have not been sharing the same house for several weeks. Jenny Sanford found out about the relationship in January when she discovered a letter the governor had written to his mistress. She did not immediately return a message seeking comment Tuesday.

In early 2009, after Jenny Sanford discovered the affair, the couple went into counseling. She has told AP that he asked her for permission several times to visit the mistress and she refused.

But the governor claims he wanted to end the affair in person and, with his wife’s permission, went to New York with a “trusted spiritual adviser” serving as chaperone. The three went to church and dinner together and parted ways the same night.

But he visited Chapur again in Argentina on June 18, the trip that brought the affair to light.

He acknowledged that he had casual encounters with other women while he was married but before he met Chapur, on trips outside the country to “blow off steam” with male friends.

“What I would say is that I’ve never had sex with another woman. Have I done stupid? I have. You know you meet someone. You dance with them. You go to a place where you probably shouldn’t have gone,” Sanford said, declining to discuss details. But he said those encounters were nothing like his relationship with Chapur.

“If you’re a married guy at the end of the day you shouldn’t be dancing with somebody else. So anyway, without wandering into that field we’ll just say that I let my guard down in all senses of the word without ever crossing the line that I crossed with this situation.”

Obama Leaves Hawaii Exposed

30 06 2009

NKorea missileEDITORIAL: Aloha, ‘star wars’

The Washington Times – Monday, June 29, 2009

July 4 could be another day that will live in infamy. The Obama administration seized headlines June 18 when the Defense Department stated that the United States would deploy ground- and sea-based missile-defense assets to protect Hawaii. This was a response to North Korea’s threat to launch a long-range missile on July 4 toward the islands. However, new information suggests that the administration is bluffing and our defenses are inadequate to get the job done.

Missile-defense expert Taylor Dinerman told us that the sea-based SM-3 missiles now deployed to “protect” Hawaii are not equipped with adequate software and communications to intercept a missile traveling from North Korea to Hawaii, which would reach a terminal velocity of  Mach 23 to 25. The SM-3s are effective only against targets traveling at up to half that speed. It would take about $50 million to upgrade the software to enable a Mach 25 intercept. The Army’s Terminal High Altitude Area Defense missile, which also has been activated after successful tests at Barking Sands on Kauai, “doesn’t come close” to being effective against this type of threat, Mr. Dinerman said.

The Obama administration is stuck in the past on missile defense, repeating worn-out arguments about unproven technologies and destabilizing effects. The Defense Department’s 2010 budget proposal cut missile defense by $1.2 billion, and congressional Democrats rebuffed Republican attempts to restore the funding. Justification for the cuts was led by Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher, California Democrat, who is the newly confirmed undersecretary of state for arms control and international security. Ms. Tauscher will play a major role in missile-defense policy.

The cuts include scaling back the number of interceptors based at Fort Greely, Alaska, from 44 to 30. This cut is hard to justify given the proximity to North Korea and the fact that these interceptors actually could bring down one of its missiles (which may explain why Pyongyang is aiming for Hawaii). The Airborne Laser program has been downgraded to a research-and-development effort despite a recent successful test of its target-acquisition system. Taxpayers have invested about $5 billion to bring this advanced technology to the point of fruition.

The Obama administration also has cut funding for the European missile-defense shield, leaving our allies in Poland and the Czech Republic in the lurch after they took a major political risk to support the program. A February Congressional Budget Office study of the proposed European deployment concluded that “none of the alternatives considered by CBO provide as much additional defense of the United States.” This retreat makes the United States appear weak  before Russian bluster, which doesn’t put U.S. leaders on the best footing on the eve of a July 7 Washington-Moscow summit.

Missile defense should be central to the U.S. strategy to dissuade, deter and, if necessary, defeat threats. Instead, we are unilaterally disarming, which only strengthens the strategic logic for our adversaries to produce more missiles. Current policies encourage countries like North Korea, Iran and Syria to move ahead with advanced missile and weapons-of-mass-destruction programs that promise more bang for the buck than expensive conventional forces.

The Obama administration’s hostility to missile defense is inexplicable. The missile threat is growing, and defensive technology is increasingly effective, yet the Obama team has dug in stubbornly behind a losing strategy that emboldens our enemies and places us in greater danger. No wonder Hawaiians are nervous.

Why Do Blacks Vote Democrat?

30 06 2009
President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican

President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican

This is an important powerful article on Democrats’ hypocrisy on race and why black Americans have been duped into voting Democrat. Please take the 2-3 minutes to read it, then forward the link to your family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.

By Frances Rice

From the National Black Republican Association (NBRA)

“Why Is the Black Vote in the Democrats’ Pocket?”  That is the title of an article by Juliette Ochieng which provides an analysis of why Republicans are having very little success attracting more blacks into the Republican Party.  The article can be found on the Internet at: http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/why-is-the-black-vote-in-the-democr

Ochieng opines that blacks have been trained by Democrats to expect political parties to provide quid pro quo.  In other words, while Republicans want to help blacks pursue happiness (teach blacks how to fish so they can feed themselves for a lifetime), Democrats want to provide happiness to blacks (give them a fish so they can eat for a day).

The Democratic Party’s strategy of using handouts to garner the black votes, while working to keep blacks mired in poverty, was described as “plantation politics” by President Barack Obama on page 147 of his book Dreams From My Father.  As a result of the politics of poverty practiced by Democrats, including Obama, the firm belief is now deeply rooted in the black community that the government must “do something” for blacks.

Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40+ years and turned those communities into economic and social wastelands with their failed socialist policies.  Yet, Democrats have the gall to blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions caused by the Democrats.  Democrats also accuse Republicans of doing nothing to help poor blacks — a charge that resonates with victim mongers.
However, since the beginning of the so-called War on Poverty, over $ 9 trillion has been spent on poverty programs.  According to the Washington Post, in one year alone under President George W. Bush, over $500 billion was spent on over 80 poverty-related programs, withlittle movement in the poverty needle.  The problem with black poverty is not money — and it is not the Republican Party .

Notably, only 25% of blacks are poor and living in those dilapidated neighborhoods run by Democrats.  The remaining 75% of blacks are prosperous and living in the larger society.  Shamefully, Democrats consistently fight efforts of Republicans to help poor blacks living in Democrat-controlled neighborhoods get out of poverty.  Most egregious is the fight by Democrats to keep Republicans from providing school choice opportunity scholarships so that black parents can get their children out of failing schools.  The money belongs to the people, not the buildings controlled by the teachers’ unions that are supporters of the Democratic Party.

Further, Democrats, aided by liberal journalists and teachers, hide information about black poverty that is embarrassing to Democrats.  For instance, after the Civil War, blacks left the plantations run by Democrats with little more than the ragged clothes on their backs.
Today, the combined wealth of blacks is over $1.4 trillion — up from the $644 billion in 2005 — a staggering figure that is equivalent to the GNP of the world’s 16th largest economy.  This is an incredible, historic achievement.

Whenever Republicans attempt to point out that it is the Democrats who are keeping those inner-city blacks mired in poverty, Democrats resort to playing the race card, falsely accusing the Republican Party of being the party of the racists who denied blacks civil rights during and prior to the 1960s. It was the racist Democrat South that turned on the hoses, blocked schools and civil rights. It was Lincoln, a Republican, who fought slavery with the Civil War. It was Eisenhower, a Republican, who integrated the armed forces.

The blatant use of race-baiting by Democrats to win the black vote is why any strategy to attract blacks back into the Republican Party must include not only a focus on economic and social issues, but also information about the true history of civil rights.

The NBRA Civil Rights Newsletter that is posted on the Internet at: http://www.NBRA.info provides information that helps set the civil rights record straight.  Referenced in the newsletter is an article published by the Claremont Institute entitled “The Myth of the Racist Republicans” that can be found on the Internet at: http://www.claremont.org/publications/crb/id.928/article_detail.asp

Included in the newsletter are additional references such as “Unfounded Loyalty” by Rev. Wayne Perryman, “Wrong on Race” by Bruce Bartlett and “A Short History of Reconstruction” by Dr. Eric Foner, a renowned liberal historian whose biography can be found on the Internet at: http://www.ericfoner.com/

Perryman wrote his book after conducting years of research and then sued the Democratic Party, demanding an apology for that party’s
150-year history of racism based on the Democratic Party’s “States Rights” claims.  The Democrats admitted their racist past under oath in court, but refused to apologize because they know that they can take the black vote for granted.

It is frustrating to observe how most black Americans continue to support the Democratic Party, in spite of that party’s reprehensible history of racism and socialism that have caused so much harm to blacks.  As author Michael Scheuer stated, the Democratic Party is the party of the four S’s:  slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

At one time in our history, almost all blacks were Republicans because, since its inception in 1854 as the anti-slavery party, the Republican Party has always been the party of freedom and equality for blacks.  Studies show that today, still, most blacks share the values of the Republican Party.  Those same studies demonstrate that most blacks are very conservative and do not share the values of the Democratic Party that supports same-sex marriage, partial-birth abortion and banning God from the public square.

In order to keep blacks from voting their values or for Republicans, every election cycle, Democrats preach hatred against the Republican Party and get blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans, and not a vote for Democrats.

The message that Democrats gives to poor blacks is despicable.  If you remain poor, uneducated and vote for Democrats, we will celebrate your victimhood.  If you get a good education, get a good job and vote for Republicans, we will denigrate you as “acting white”, a “sellout”, an “Uncle Tom”, a “House Negro”, a “House N-word”, a “Lawn Jockey”, and worse.

Democrats talk tolerance, but practice intolerance, castigating anyblack person as a “traitor” to his or her race who does not toe the liberal agenda line.

When black Democrat Juan Williams wrote his book entitled “Enough:
The Phony Leaders, Dead-end Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America” that exposed the deplorable conditions in black communities, Williams was denounced on national TV by another black Democrat as a “Happy Negro”.

Brazenly, on the left-wing Internet website called “The News Blog,” Democrats posted a doctored photograph of then Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele (now chairman of the RNC) when he was running for a Senate seat, depicting Steele as a “Simple Sambo” with a blackened minstrel-style face, nappy hair and big, think red lips.  The cartoon caption read: “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house”.
This contemptible racist stereotype is the same one Democrats used to demean black men during the era of slavery and segregation.

In addition to other outrageous racist images of Dr. Condoleezza Rice produced by several Democrats, cartoonist Jeff Danziger depicted Dr. Rice as an ignorant, barefoot “mammy”, reminiscent of the stereotyped black woman in the movie “Gone with the Wind” about the slave era black woman who remarked:  “I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies”.  This is the type of racist stereotype Democrats used to demean black women during the era of slavery and segregation.

Democrats now love Gen. Colin Powell, but spewed out racist attacks on Powell before he endorsed Obama and embraced the liberal agenda of higher taxes and a bigger government to provide poverty-producing handouts to blacks.

A video was shot by WKRN Video Journalist Beau Fleenor at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee that shows Al Sharpton demeaning Gen. Powell and Dr. Rice, when Sharpton was asked to give his opinions about whether Powell and Rice were “House Negroes”. That video can be found on the Internet at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdVjrBY5-F0

An article that appeared in a Portland, Oregon paper was one of many exposing how hardly a ripple of protest was made by black Democrats when Harry Belafonte publicly denounced Gen. Powell as a “House Negro”.  It can be found on the Internet at: http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2002/10/27103.shtml

The denigration by Democrats of blacks who identify with the Republican Party makes it nearly impossible for the Republican Party to attract blacks into the party, and for black Republicans to get elected to office in black communities.  Yet, Democrats have the temerity to point a finger of blame at the Republican Party for there being so few blacks in the Republican Party and for there being so few black Republican elected officials.  Notably, the few black Republicans who get elected to public office do so in largely white Republican districts.

Those black Americans living in the Democrat-controlled neighborhoods who want to get out of poverty should seize control over their own destiny and stop voting monolithically for Democrats who use “plantation politics” to buy their votes while keeping blacks in poverty.

Democrats will forever maintain a “lock” on the black vote, for as long as black Americans — including prosperous blacks who sympathize with poor blacks — continue believing the myth that the Republican Party is a racist party and clinging to the false notion that poor blacks are “victims” who need government handouts to survive.

California’s End of Days

30 06 2009

empty pockets

The dream is now a nightmare.

It wasn’t that long ago, in the 1970s, when California was still the dreamy Golden State — the  celebrated land of milk and honey. California is now a dystopic ruin, a grim testimony to what the Left’s toxic ideology of indulgence, bloated welfare, and identity politics has wrought.

And that’s where the rest of America is heading.

California, Here We Come!
Pat Buchanan
June 26, 2009 – Townhall.com

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — In just a few weeks time, California hits the wall.

And Americans should take a good, long look at the fiscal and social wreck of the Golden Land, because California is at a place to which all of America is heading.

In May, when five fund-raising proposals were put on the ballot, Gov. Schwarzenegger pleaded with the overtaxed Californians not to make their state “the poster child for dysfunction.”

As The Economist writes, “On May 18th, they did exactly that.”

Arnold went to the White House for U.S. loan guarantees for new state bonds. But with the president’s approval rating wilting because of a belief he is spending too much, the Obama-ites slammed the door.

In Sacramento, a Republican blocking force is resisting any new tax revenue. And with the state under a constitutional mandate to balance its budget, yet facing a $24 billion deficit this July, a chainsaw is about to be taken to state government.

Some 38,000 of 168,000 state prisoners may be released. As BarackObama is pushing universal health insurance, California will cut Medi-Cal for the poor . Education will be slashed, resulting in a shortened school year, thousands of laid-off teachers, school closings and an end to summer programs in a system that has plummeted from the nation’s best to one of its worst, as measured by dropout rates and academic achievement.

The 10 campuses of the University of California face cuts that may result in 50,000 fewer students and 5,000 fewer teachers.

What makes her fiscal crisis relevant to us all is not only that California is our most populous state, with one in eight Americans living there, but California has a gross domestic product larger than Canada’s.

Moreover, the demography of California today is the demography ofAmerica tomorrow , just as the social and fiscal policies of California in the last decade mirror those of the U.S. government today.

One-third of all U.S. wage-earners today have been amnestied frompaying U.S. income taxes, as the top 1 percent haul fully 40 percent of that huge load. So, too, in California, the well-to-do and the wealthy are hammered, which is why many have quietly closed their businesses, packed and gone back over the mountains whence their fathers came.

Under George W. Bush and Obama, the U.S. government has undertaken huge new responsibilities: No Child Left Behind, Medicare prescription drug benefits, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the takeovers of banks and auto companies, bailouts without end and national health insurance.

California, too, spent lavishly in the fat years and issued bonds when state revenues did not cover the costs, bringing its once-sterling credit rating down to the nation’s lowest. So, too, U.S. Treasury bonds, T-bills and the American dollar are now increasingly suspect.

Demographically, California is where America will be in 2040.

White folks, who are leaving California as they did in the millions in the 1990s, are below half the population. Hispanics, their numbers surging due to legal and illegal immigration, are well over a third of the population. The African-American share of California’s population is also falling, as the Asian share is rising, again from immigration.

Los Angeles, which is what most large American cities will look like, is the most diverse city on earth. Has diversity been a strength?

In the prisons and jails, and among the scores of thousands in street gangs and the underclass, a black-brown civil war is underway. In October 2006, the Financial Times reported the findings of the famed author of “Bowling Alone” on what diversity has wrought:

“A bleak picture of the corrosive effects of ethnic diversity has been revealed in research by Harvard University’s Robert Putnam, one of the world’s most influential political scientists. His research shows that the more diverse a community is, the less likely its inhabitants are to trust anyone — from their next-door neighbor to the mayor.”

“In the presence of diversity, we hunker down,” said Putnam. “We act like turtles. The effect of diversity is worse than had been imagined. And it’s not just that we don’t trust people who are not like us. In diverse communities, we don’t trust people who do look like us.”

“Professor Putnam,” said the Financial Times, “found trust was lowest in Los Angeles, ‘the most diverse human habitation in human history.'”

Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan carried California nine times. But the state is now a fiefdom of liberalism. John McCain’s share of the vote was smaller than Barry Goldwater’s. California today believes in Big Government, open borders, diversity, multiculturalism and the politics of compassion. But what liberalism has wrought in California, its native-born are fleeing.

Still, where California is at, America is headed.

Californians who are running away from the communities and towns in which they were raised have Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, Utah and Nevada to head to. But when all of America arrives at where California is at today, where do the Americans run to?

Liberal Hate Filled Low-Lifes

30 06 2009

I’m not exactly shocked by this behavior because it comes from people that consider themselves Liberal/Progressives. Keep reading, but be forewarned that this will piss you off!

First read the short story, then read the pathetic comments.

Fox News reporter Craig Boswell was injured in a hit and run late Monday night outside the Jackson family compound in Encino, California.

The accident, which occurred around 10PM local time, occurred approximately 100 yards south of the Jackson family home, MyFoxLA reports.

Boswell was struck in the foot by a woman speeding through the neighborhood in a gold Toyota Corolla, the report said.

The Huffington Post has learned that Boswell was hit while doing his live shots and was taken to Encino Hospital, where initial reports indicated little more than bruising and scrapes. Since then, however, x-rays have shown broken bones in Boswell’s foot and he is being flown back to Washington, DC this morning, where he’ll undergo surgery necessary to repair the damage.

Boswell is a reporter for Fox NewsEdge, which provides news for Fox affiliates around the country.[end]

Now for the hatefilled comments…

“And God proves his existence.

Did the Toyota sustain any damage? Fair and balanced minds want to know.

Uh, get out of the street reporter.

when the revolution comes, ALL fox workers will get “run over”…………………..

Got ‘im.

Newsmen (and women) AREN’T NEWS. If you cover the news you’re outside of the bubble, i.e. you cannot be news no matter what happens to you . . . unless you’re FOX. FOX doesn’t report the news, the people who stand in front of their cameras with mikes in hand are not reporters, i.e. they’re fair game when it comes to “becoming” news.

Karma is a funny thing….

Maybe then we will have more support for the kind of public transportation infrastructure that the rest of the industrialized world has. (I included this one because it’s so stupid)

By the way, does this mean he can no longer dance around the facts?

Well, at least it wasn’t a real reporter.

There are stupid drivers everywhere… but still– he may have had it coming.

Its a reporter They intrude on our lives So F him, he deserved it.

I wold like everyone to take a moment of silence and prayer and hope the car is doing fine.

Silencing Fox would not be undemocratic- it would paradoxically represent the preservation of democracy. You can not trust the handling of democratic processes in the hands of fascists. They will use it to strangle it to death.

Whats the difference betwen a runover snake on the road and a runover Fox Reporter. The pavement near the snake has skid marks.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy…

It’s Bushs’s fault. He probably did do it, a hit and run would be way down on the scale compared to the way he broke the whole world.

What if this had been a reporter from MSNBC and people were posting the same mean things. There would be such an outrage that a new hate-crimes bill would be immediately put into place.

You gotta admit, not only are these people full of hatred, they are pretty damned stupid!!!

Obama’s Evil Eyes

So, some people are finally catching on to Hussein Obama’s evil-looking eyes.

Well, GiovanniWorld noticed it first — and we have better pics!

To all Obamabots: Are these the eyes of The Messiah? Hmmm?

As the summer begins, White House watchers have spotted a new look by President Obama: The Evil Eye!

Staffers have joked about the menacing glance, which comes when the president meets with world leaders who are not aligned with his “progressive” view.

White House photographers have captured the “evil eye” in recent weeks, during sessions with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Colombia’s Alvaro Uribev.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi got hit with the commander’s malocchio last week in the Oval Office.

And at least one White House reporter has been on the receiving end of the daggers during a press conference.

Treasonous Climate Change Denial

29 06 2009
Global Warming in action.

Global Warming in action.

Let me start by saying that I have NEVER liked Paul Krugman, but now he has given me reason to despise him.

I love this picture of the melting Ice Cream Truck.

There may be some good news in all this. I read reactions to Krugmans thoughts on the most liberal of sites today, and found that less than half of the far lefties agree with him.

Krugman: Republicans’ Climate Change Denial Amounts To Treason

Published: June 28, 2009
So the House passed the Waxman-Markey climate-change bill. In political terms, it was a remarkable achievement.

But 212 representatives voted no. A handful of these no votes came from representatives who considered the bill too weak, but most rejected the bill because they rejected the whole notion that we have to do something about greenhouse gases.

And as I watched the deniers make their arguments, I couldn’t help thinking that I was watching a form of treason — treason against the planet.

To fully appreciate the irresponsibility and immorality of climate-change denial, you need to know about the grim turn taken by the latest climate research.

The fact is that the planet is changing faster than even pessimists expected: ice caps are shrinking, arid zones spreading, at a terrifying rate. And according to a number of recent studies, catastrophe — a rise in temperature so large as to be almost unthinkable — can no longer be considered a mere possibility. It is, instead, the most likely outcome if we continue along our present course.

Thus researchers at M.I.T., who were previously predicting a temperature rise of a little more than 4 degrees by the end of this century, are now predicting a rise of more than 9 degrees. Why? Global greenhouse gas emissions are rising faster than expected; some mitigating factors, like absorption of carbon dioxide by the oceans, are turning out to be weaker than hoped; and there’s growing evidence that climate change is self-reinforcing — that, for example, rising temperatures will cause some arctic tundra to defrost, releasing even more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Temperature increases on the scale predicted by the M.I.T. researchers and others would create huge disruptions in our lives and our economy. As a recent authoritative U.S. government report points out, by the end of this century New Hampshire may well have the climate of North Carolina today, Illinois may have the climate of East Texas, and across the country extreme, deadly heat waves — the kind that traditionally occur only once in a generation — may become annual or biannual events.

In other words, we’re facing a clear and present danger to our way of life, perhaps even to civilization itself. How can anyone justify failing to act?

Well, sometimes even the most authoritative analyses get things wrong. And if dissenting opinion-makers and politicians based their dissent on hard work and hard thinking — if they had carefully studied the issue, consulted with experts and concluded that the overwhelming scientific consensus was misguided — they could at least claim to be acting responsibly.

But if you watched the debate on Friday, you didn’t see people who’ve thought hard about a crucial issue, and are trying to do the right thing. What you saw, instead, were people who show no sign of being interested in the truth. They don’t like the political and policy implications of climate change, so they’ve decided not to believe in it — and they’ll grab any argument, no matter how disreputable, that feeds their denial.

Indeed, if there was a defining moment in Friday’s debate, it was the declaration by Representative Paul Broun of Georgia that climate change is nothing but a “hoax” that has been “perpetrated out of the scientific community.” I’d call this a crazy conspiracy theory, but doing so would actually be unfair to crazy conspiracy theorists. After all, to believe that global warming is a hoax you have to believe in a vast cabal consisting of thousands of scientists — a cabal so powerful that it has managed to create false records on everything from global temperatures to Arctic sea ice.

Yet Mr. Broun’s declaration was met with applause.

Given this contempt for hard science, I’m almost reluctant to mention the deniers’ dishonesty on matters economic. But in addition to rejecting climate science, the opponents of the climate bill made a point of misrepresenting the results of studies of the bill’s economic impact, which all suggest that the cost will be relatively low.

Still, is it fair to call climate denial a form of treason? Isn’t it politics as usual?

Yes, it is — and that’s why it’s unforgivable.

Do you remember the days when Bush administration officials claimed that terrorism posed an “existential threat” to America, a threat in whose face normal rules no longer applied? That was hyperbole — but the existential threat from climate change is all too real.

Yet the deniers are choosing, willfully, to ignore that threat, placing future generations of Americans in grave danger, simply because it’s in their political interest to pretend that there’s nothing to worry about. If that’s not betrayal, I don’t know what is.

Squirming Obama

29 06 2009
Did We Just See Obama Squirm?

By- Dan Scott

Two international occurrences over the past month have given us an interesting insight into President Obama. The first being his initial tepid response to Iranians demonstrating non violently in the streets over a very suspicious election result and the Basij murdering seven demonstrators in a staged attacked to make the demonstrators look violent. The purpose of the attack was to delegitimize a peaceful movement and their dissent in order to shift the focus away from a less than believable election result. One cannot count millions of hand marked paper ballots in a matter of four hours, not even in the US. No one bought the staged attack anymore than the phony election results. However, President Obama curiously refused to support the demonstrators under the rationalization that it would appear as meddling in Iranian affairs and would compromise future nuclear weapons negotiations. It wasn’t until more demonstrators were murdered and President Obama was essentially shamed into it by Congress and then being accused by Iran of meddling that he finally found his rhetorical voice to speak words of support for the demonstrators. Obama affirmed the right of peaceful dissent for the Iranian demonstrators and that the Iranian government should allow them to speak their piece without use of force. He said nothing about the legitimacy elections.

The second insight into President Obama came this week when President Zelaya of Honduras  was arrested by the Army removing him from power. President Obama called for the Rule of Law in opposing the ouster of Zelaya. Interestingly, it was the Rule of Law that Zelaya broke and that nation’s Supreme Court ordered his arrest. It appears he wanted to follow in Chavez’s footsteps to become president for life by holding an illegal referendum removing term limits. It was all very democratic, except the part of not following the Constitution of Honduras and President Obama knew this.

Many are confused by this seeming disconnect of President Obama’s responses between Iran and Honduras. In Iran’s case, the Rule of Law was subverted even under the authoritarian control of the Mullahs since in their system they chose who could run but left it to the population to pick which of the three candidates were acceptable to them. In Honduras’s case, a referendum was to be held giving the population a choice whether they wanted the option of having a president serve more than the term limits would allow. I will restate Obama’s actions in another way so this confusion can now be cleared up. In Iran President Obama did not speak up on a fraudulent vote thwarting democracy and in Honduras he spoke up on ousting a president who attempted to subvert democracy by using the cover of a democratic vote to contrary to the Law.

I submit President Obama was very consistent in his actions. What we saw in these two instances is Obama squirming under the implications, which may have come a little too close to home for him. Many people in this country are protesting the rampant spending endorsed by President Obama who up to this point has essentially pretended the protests didn’t occur.  His dog has more press coverage from the MSM than do the Tea Party protests. As far as Obama is concerned the protesters can’t do anything against him or limit his actions unless they take up arms, so let them peacefully protest all they want, he won and that’s that. To Barack Obama, democracy is not about consensus and representation but by convincing enough people by telling them what they want to hear to be given the reigns of leadership. Thus Iran’s rulers are over reacting in his opinion and they should just let them complain all they want. On the other hand, President Obama’s assent to power is under question in this country given two questions he has steadfastly refused to answer and has spent well over a million dollars in legal maneuvers suppressing the hearing of the matter to clear up the issue. The two questions are the inspection of his vault copy birth certificate, which would show the hospital at which he was born (the location which is not on a COLB) thus confirming his citizenship and his status as an American citizen due to his traveling under Indonesian passport over the age of 21. If a court were to actually examine the merits of the case instead of parsing the Law to claim no one has standing to bring the case, all the questions could be answered and the cloud of suspicion lifted. If it were found by the Courts that Barack Obama is not a US citizen by birth or by giving up his citizenship because he became a citizen of Indonesia, the Supreme Court would have to order his arrest for committing a fraud.

Now of course some will scoff at the way I have connected the dots since to consider President Obama as an illegitimate holder of power is so over the top as to be inconceivable. Such scoffing however requires the suspension of disbelief that anyone has so much audacity as to hope they successfully could pull off such a scheme. Really?? No one has the audacity to  lie to the American public?

Update: Obama Birth Certificate

29 06 2009

Please read this important update I recieved via email today in the Kerchner v. Obama case.

Hello. I’m writing you all because of various post(s) on your websites pertaining to a letter writing campaign to a judge in the Kerchner v. Obama case.

There has been reporting about letters being sent to the judge and added to the court record; see http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/id.3582/pub_detail.asp and http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?p=6404 for two examples.

However, some points need to be clarified so that people get this right and don’t waste their time by making critical errors. Kerchner and his attorney (Mario Apuzzo) were on a radio show tonight (June 28th) at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/PatriotsHeartNetwork/2009/06/29/The-Chalice-Show and discussed this letter writing campaign.

First of all, the judge did not solicit these letters; people sent them on their own initiative and they were added to the record. We don’t actually know why the judge added them, or if any will be added in the future (they might be, they might not; we don’t know for sure). In fact public letters being added like this is a very rare thing. Typically if an outsider wants to comment on a case, it has to be done via an amicus curiae brief. But for some reason, these letters were added to the record, and Kerchner is now encouraging people to send more letters. We don’t know if they will be added to the record or not, but they may.

Second, June 29th is NOT the letter deadline. There is no official letter deadline. June 29th was just the due date for the government’s response; they responded last week by filing a motion to dismiss, so June 29th is now out of the picture. The court will rule on the government’s motion to dismiss on July 20th, so people definitely need to get their letters in before then, and certainly they should do so as soon as possible.

Third, messages sent via fax may not be accepted. They might, but they might not. http://www.njd.uscourts.gov/FAQS.html#faxpleadings states that procedure requires original documents, so sending letters via USPS or FedEx is far more reliable if people actually want their letters to possibly be added to the record.

Fourth, letters need to be addressed not only to Judge Joel Schneider, but also to Judge Jerome B. Simandle. Judge Schneider is the referring magistrate judge; he is outranked by the presiding district court judge, Judge Simandle. Any letters should be addressed to BOTH judges. A good form is this:

The Honorable U.S. District Court Judge Jerome B. Simandle, presiding
The Honorable U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider, referring
Mitchell H. Cohen Building & U.S. Courthouse
4th & Cooper Streets, Room 1050
Camden, NJ 08101

That address comes from the official court website at http://www.njd.uscourts.gov/dir/JudgeListCamden.html

People also need to remember when writing their letters that this has to do with the Constitution and nothing else. If the judges gets letters saying things like “You have to stop Obama or else we will be destroyed by socialism,” it can only cause damage to this case. The courts are not a political branch, nor should they be. The courts are there to apply the law, not dabble in politics. The purpose of this letter campaign should be to highlight the significant Constitutional matters at hand and urge the judges to hear the case on Constitutional grounds and render fair and impartial judgment accordingly.

For the republic,

Jenny Sanford for SC Governor!

29 06 2009

Jenny Sanford

As a woman, I probably speak for many women who are very proud of how South Carolina First Lady Jenny Sanford is conducting herself.

In a refreshing departure from the wives of disgraced politicians (President Bill Clinton, NY Governor Eliot Spitzer, Senator Larry Craig, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Senator David Vitter, and New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevy), Jenny Sanford refused to humiliate herself by partaking in the public charade of standing next to her husband, the reckless and feckless Governor Mark Sanford, as he confessed his adulterous affair with Argentinian Maria Chapur.

Instead, Jenny Sanford is holding her head up high and keeping her eyes fixed on what is truly important — the wellbeing of her four sons.

It is clear who actually has what it takes to be governor. Jenny Sanford, not Mark, has the moral bearings, integrity, intelligence, self-control, and plain coolness to be South Carolina’s leader.

Jenny Sanford, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachmann for 2012!

Ironically, Without Wife and Mistress, Mark Sanford Is More Screwed Than Ever

6/29/09 – http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/06/ironically_without_wife_and_mi.html?imw=Y&f=most-viewed-24h10

Over the weekend, as Mark Sanford’s mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, was opening up about her affair, both the New York Times and Washington Post turned their attention to the home front, examining just how screwed the South Carolina governor is now that he’s been kicked out by his wife. Jenny Sanford, it turns out, is not only a cool customer, but she’s also apparently a smart, tough cookie who bakes cookies, a dichotomy other First Ladies (like Hillary Clinton, famously) would have argued was not possible. Jenny has kept her wits about her in the week since the affair broke, writing up a statement for herself and handing it out to reporters camped out on her lawn. She’s also given an interview to the AP, during which she said she’s given up worrying about the political future for her husband — a man whose name has been frequently mentioned for the 2012 presidential election. “His career is not a concern of mine,” Jenny Sanford told reporters camped at the end of her driveway as she left with her boys for a boat ride the other day. “He’s going to have to worry about that. I’m worried about my family and the character of my children,” she said.

Mark Sanford has enough political trouble for engaging in the affair to begin with. Critics are complaining that his behavior should merit a resignation from the governorship, if not for the affair, for the use of taxpayer funds to travel to Argentina, or the fact that he disappeared for five days without revealing his whereabouts even to his staff. If he had any hope for a strategy to recover from this, it would likely have come from the mind that crafted his first congressional run and two gubernatorial bids: that of Jenny Sanford, his wife and brilliant campaign manager. A Georgetown-educated M&A expert who gave up her job at Lazard Freres to raise a family with Sanford, Jenny was always in charge of his political future. And now, without her, most friends say his clock is punched. “He would have never won either of his governor’s races without her — no way,” said a former Sanford spokesman. “She ran the show. He pointed the direction he wanted to go, and she was the bulldozer that cleared the path and got him there.” The “Old Testament woman with a 170 IQ” is turning her attentions elsewhere, departing the state to vacation with her kids and leaving her estranged husband to deal with the mess he created on his own.

“I think Jenny has not had these types of ambitions,” said longtime friend Cindy Mosteller. “But I think every woman in South Carolina would vote for Jenny Sanford for governor right now.” A tough, smart, values-oriented woman who knows what she’s talking about, and is recovering from a collapse in trust and idealism? Sounds like a symbol the Republican Party could really get behind.

Madoff Gets 150 Years

29 06 2009

Mug shot of con man & thief Bernard Madoff

Today is shaping up to be a very good day for the cause of justice!

First, the Supreme Court reversed brown racist SCOTUS nominee Sonia Sotomayor’s prior ruling against a group of white firefighters who claim they were discriminated against in favor of black firefighters with lower achievement scores.

Now, Ponzi scheme thief Bernie Madoff is sentenced to the maximum 150 years in jail.

NEW YORK – Bernard Madoff has been sentenced to the maximum 150 years in prison for his multibillion-dollar fraud scheme. U.S. District Judge Denny Chin handed down the sentence in New York on Monday.

Defense attorneys had sought 12 years, while prosecutors wanted the maximum. The federal probation department had recommended 50 years. Chin called the fraud “staggering” and noted that it spanned more than 20 years. He says “the breach of trust was massive.”

The 71-year-old former Nasdaq chairman pleaded guilty to securities fraud and other charges in March and has been jailed since.

Supreme Court Rules Against Sotomayor

29 06 2009

News just in to the 62% Americans who a Washington Post poll alleges to be in favor of Hussein Obama’s nomination of brown racist Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court:

SCOTUS just reversed Sotomayor’s ruling in a reverse racism case brought by a group of white and Hispanic  firefighters in New Haven.

Is this the kind of judge you want to serve for life on the highest court in our country?

H/t to GiovanniWorld member LittleMissMuffin!

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court has ruled that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.

The White House is spinning this, saying that the Supreme Court’s reversal of Sotomayor’s ruling proves that she is unbiased! LOL

A message from David Mallard to all members of North Carolinians for the Preservation of the Constitution on Patriotic Resistance!

Someone on Resistnet set me a link to someone who is trying to form a third party. That is not the way to take back this state or this country. We do not have time for that. We must retake the Republican party, throw out the rinos, and elect real conservatives to replace them. We must also take away Pelosi and Reed’s Democratic majorities. We should also remember that infiltrating the conservative resistance in order to divide it is a classic Sol Alinsky tactic we must not fall for. Let us remember who our enemies are.

Con Men Love M. Jackson

28 06 2009

mjaI have very mixed feelings about saying anything about Michael Jackson. Did I enjoy his music way back when? Of course, I can appreciate good musical talent just like anyone else. My problem with him has to do with his weirdness, and possible child molestation habit.

Not really having anything to say about his passing, I was relieved when Eowyn had tackled that issue a few days ago… https://giovanniworld.wordpress.com/2009/06/26/michael-jackson-a-spiritual-autopsy/

Now after a few days of reflection, I finally find something that I want to write about when it comes to Michael Jackson… Con men. Or in this case, Con men of color. I find the actions of Rev. Al and Rev. Jesse to be pathetic and disgusting, and it seems that the BBC feels the same way but are more polite than I care to be.

Kowing how I feel, I would like to say… “Michael, may you and God work things out, and may the two con men that raced to be in your spotlight, burn in hell”!

Michael Jackson: Al Sharpton flies in as battle joined over singer’s death and legacy

The Rev Al Sharpton was quickest off the mark. No sooner was Michael Jackson‘s death announced than the renowned political rabble rouser was on the streets of Harlem, waving an old black and white photograph of himself with the singer he had known for more than three decades.

Sharpton was on an aeroplane to Los Angeles to consult the Jackson family about plans for simultaneous worldwide commemorations for the superstar, and the hugely profitable television rights that are likely to be sold with it.

Others were also swiftly at the side of the singer’s family as it moved to take control of his complicated legacy, including vast assets and debts as well as the prospect of a final bonanza from the global outpouring of grief over his death.

Last night Jackson’s father said he did not believe stress over the intense series of concerts planned for his son’s comeback had led to his death. Joe Jackson also said he believes his son would be larger in death than he was in life, telling Fox News that “Michael was the biggest superstar in the world and in history.”

The civil rights leader Jesse Jackson was on hand to claim to speak for the family, as was Tohme Tohme, a self-styled doctor and former manager of the singer.

But it was Sharpton who thrust himself to the fore, aligning with Michael Jackson’s family as the finger-pointing over the death and the grappling over money began. At stake is not only the cash but the future of two of the star’s three children, with a potential custody battle looming between their mother and their grandparents…..

Stand up and tell the world that you are NOT a racist, stand-up and take the pledge.

Boehner: Climate bill a ‘pile of s–t’

By Molly K. Hooper
Posted: 06/27/09 09:22 PM [ET]

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a few choice words about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) landmark climate-change bill after its passage Friday.

When asked why he read portions of the cap-and-trade bill on the floor Friday night, Boehner told The Hill, “Hey, people deserve to know what’s in this pile of s–t.”

Using his privilege as leader to speak for an unlimited time on the House floor, Boehner spent an hour reading from the 1200-plus page bill that was amended 20 hours before the lower chamber voted 219-212 to approve it.

Eight Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the bill; 44 House Democrats voted against it. Pelosi’s office declined to comment on Boehner’s jab. But one Democratic aide quipped, “What do you expect from a guy who thinks global warming is caused by cow manure?”

Even though Sen. Majorty Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) holds the bill’s fate in his hands, House Republicans intend to hammer Speaker Pelosi’s signature climate-change measure over recess.

And GOP Conference Chairman Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.) said “we have only just begun to fight” as he left the Capitol Friday night.

Pence encouraged GOP rank-and-file lawmakers to hold energy summits in their districts over the Independence Day recess. In the recess packets sent home with members, he even included directions on how to organize energy summits.

The goal of holding an energy forum is to “educate your constituents about the Democrats’ national energy tax legislation and let them know what ‘all of the above’ solution you support.”

“All of the above” solution is a reference to the Republicans’ plan that would increase the use of and exploration for domestic energy supplies.

Further, officials with the House GOP’s campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee, confirm that they will run with paid media over recess in districts of conservative Dems who voted for the bill. The official would not reveal details on the ad buys at this time.

One Democrat was upset that his leaders would needlessly force vulnerable Dems to vote for a bill that will come back to haunt them. Mississippi Rep. Gene Taylor (D) voted against the measure that he says will die in the Senate.

“A lot of people walked the plank on a bill that will never become law,” Taylor told The Hill after the gavel came down.
