This Years Christmas Gift – Guns

25 11 2008

While having an online conversation with a fellow blogger concerning possible americanflaghandgun-petermillerchanges in firearms laws, she mentioned something about her Brother-in-law that owns a gun shop. Here’s her first message to me…

“My brother-in-law owns a gun shop, and he’s having a problem getting through to the background check facility because so many people are buying guns now. My hubby just bought two more guns and has stocked up on ammo. We all need to practice our Charlton Heston imitation: “From my cold, dead hands!”

First comes registration, then comes confiscation.”

Out of curiosity, I asked her if she would mind asking him why people are buying so many guns at this time. About 24 hours later she emailed me the following…

“According to B.I.L. (gun shop owner), his sales have increased for the following reasons:

1. People are afraid of another ban on assault weapons
2. Tax on ammo purported to go up to 500% under Obama administration
3. Fear of riots because they don’t know what might happen
4. Increase in crime with so many people losing their jobs
5. Good barter: Can trade guns and ammo for food if we go into a deep depression”

I was only surprised by the last item on the list, but after some thought, it made very good sense. For the near future I see no slow down in gun sales, especially now that we know who Obama’s pick is for Attorney General of the USA. Read this…

Eric Holder Nomination Signals Obama’s True Anti-Gun Rights Agenda

BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov 19, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — The nomination of Eric Holder for the post of attorney general of the United States sends an “alarming signal” to gun owners about how the Barack Obama administration will view individual gun rights, as affirmed this year by the Supreme Court, the Second Amendment Foundation said today.
Eric Holder signed an amicus brief in the Heller case that supported the District of Columbia’s handgun ban, and also argued that the Second Amendment does not protect an individual right,”

Then add in Obama’s own history concerning gun ownership…

“Obama would ban the manufacture and sale of all handguns.

Supports gun-owner licensing and gun registration.

Opposes four of five Supreme Court Justices who affirmed the court’s decision to uphold the individual’s right to keep and bear arms.

Voted to ban almost all rifle ammo commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

Voted to uphold local gun bans and criminal prosecution of people who used firearms in their own self-defense.

Supported a proposal to ban gun stores within 5 miles of any school or park (which would eliminate almost every gun store in America).

Voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to bankrupt the firearms industry.

Called for a 500 percent increase in the federal excise tax on firearms and ammo.

Favors a ban on standard capacity magazines.

Supports mandatory firearms training requirements for all gun owners and a ban on gun ownership for persons under age 21.

Would restore voting rights for 5 million criminals, including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.

Obama has bodyguards with handguns for his personal protection, but his voting record shows he does not think you should have a handgun for your protection.

Obama: “I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.” (Chicago Tribune, April 27, 2004).”

So much for Obama being the bringer of peace and hope.

Jackie,

You said a mouthful. His hope and change has been a big scam, so I wonder if his followers will follow him over the edge?

Right thinking people aren’t as stupid as the leftists are…we know exactly what may be coming on down the road since O got elected, but adding people like the dirty filthy Holder only exacerbate the need to be prepared to add ammo/guns of your choice to your household…let alone some in congress also.

The left depend on the govt. from cradle to grave if possible, and that is the way we are going even more-so now with this administration coming in…the left do not care about govt. control, they depend on it like good little lemmings.

The right keep and bear arms for the exact reasons in the Constitution…plus various other reasons mentioned above.

People had better wake up, before it is far too late.

Once again, be afraid. Very very afraid. There is a group who wants ammo to have serial numbers etched on the bottom of bullets. The people who buy the ammo would have to go through all kinds of registration and red tape before they could even buy a box. This group is lobbying congress to make this a law. Several states have signed on.

I think there are more true Americans in this country who still understand and believe in our Constitution, than Socialist minded people, who would have it replaced by some other form of law. Would someone please tell us how we go about getting the truth to them? We can’t depend on any news media that I know of, other than talk radio, which may be a thing of the past soon if the left has their way.
I pray some good American will step forward and advise us on what we can do as individual Americans to return to the Constitution of these United States of America. We must become united in a common cause. There is strength in number.

James Laughlin:

ITA with you! You may want to check this out: http://www.modernconservative.com/metablog_single.php?p=2478

I was contacted by them, via e-mail, several days ago. They’re asking for fellow conservatives to volunteer in a variety of categories, from activism (setting up some unit in one’s town/city/county) to blogging.

I really believe that the United States has been eroding & decaying for some time now — not just in culture & morality, but now also the economy as we see a Republican president single-handedly mutate it into socialism, with endless bailouts. If we don’t make a last ditch effort, we’ll be history.
