Progressive/Marxists Suicide

14 01 2010

“The following post is not about the poor people of Haiti. I pray to God that the world will help them to recover and everything stays peaceful. The post has more to do with who Obama is asking to help.”

I’ve been accused of having a strange sense of humor so some of you may not think this is funny. I happen to think this is hilarious. I spent five minutes laughing til I had tears in my eyes.

Just wait until the news gets around to the Marxist/Liberals in this country that the hated George W. Bush will be working with “I love interns” Bill Clinton. I fully expect some of these people to be jumping out of windows to their death at the mere thought of good old Dubya also working with Obama. This my dear friends is going to be fun, if not interesting.

Obama enlists Bush, Clinton to help Haiti

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama pledged $100 million for Haiti quake relief on Thursday and enlisted two former U.S. presidents to help raise more, vowing to the Haitian people: “You will not be forsaken.”

Barack Obama

Determined to stay on top of the rapidly unfolding humanitarian crisis in the quake zone, Obama told his top aides that responding to the tragedy should be their top priority.

Obama, facing his biggest test of international relief since taking office a year ago, promised an initial U.S. contribution of $100 million and said he had directed his administration to launch “a swift, coordinated and aggressive effort to save lives and support recovery in Haiti.”

Former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat who is already a United Nations special envoy for Haiti, and former President George W. Bush, the Republican who preceded Obama in the White House, agreed to a request from Obama to help the quake relief effort. Obama talked by telephone with Bush on Wednesday night about helping out.

“Both of them have agreed to take part in this,” said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, promising more details in the next few days.

The effort will be similar to that performed by Clinton and Bush’s father, former President George H.W. Bush, when they led a huge international relief effort to help the recovery from the 2004 tsunami that swept South Asia and killed 226,000 in 13 countries.

George W. Bush has kept a relatively low profile since leaving the White House a year ago, working on a book about his time in office and developing his presidential library in Dallas.

His former press secretary, Dana Perino, said she believed Bush and Clinton “will pour their hearts into this mission.”

Gibbs dismissed a question as to why Obama would turn to Bush after criticizing him for the U.S. response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, saying bipartisan unity was needed.

Aid was beginning to arrive in Haiti, shattered by Tuesday’s quake. The Haitian Red Cross said it believed 45,000 to 50,000 people had died and 3 million more were hurt or left homeless.

‘AMERICA STANDS WITH YOU’

“To the people of Haiti, we say clearly and with conviction, you will not be forsaken. You will not be forgotten. In this, your hour of greatest need, America stands with you. The world stands with you,” Obama said.

It marks the latest example of the long U.S. history with Haiti. In 1994, then-President Clinton sent a delegation there that negotiated the departure of Haitian military leaders and headed off an American invasion.

Working against time to save as many lives as possible and help Haitians dig out of the rubble, the United States is sending some elements of its armed forces to the impoverished island nation.

Several Coast Guard cutters are already there providing basic services like water and technical support for a massive logistical operation.

Obama said elements of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division were arriving on Thursday. A Marine expeditionary unit was also being deployed, as well as the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson and a U.S. Navy hospital ship, the Comfort.

In a show of support for Haiti, Obama was joined when he made his statement by key leaders of his administration, including Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Vice President Joe Biden.

Obama was clearly working to avoid any sort of comparison with Bush, who was damaged by his administration’s slow initial response to Hurricane Katrina.

Aides provided frequent updates on what the president was doing on Haiti, such as holding meetings with aides and talking to foreign leaders.

Obama, who had been criticized for waiting a few days to speak publicly in response to the Christmas Day attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound plane, said he had made it clear to the officials that Haiti “must be a top priority for their departments and agencies right now.”

“This is one of those moments that calls out for American leadership,” he said.

Biden and his wife, Jill, are to be in South Florida to meet with members of the Haitian-American community there about the U.S. response to the crisis.

Voters Reject Obama And Kennedy

13 01 2010

I have a few comments I would like to make, so when you see anything written in the color Red, you know it’s me. For better or worse, here goes…

Gio-

Brown’s glossy veneer conceals misleading campaign

MASSACHUSETTS VOTERS have a serious choice to make.

They can fall for the frisky, truck-driving guy in a TV commercial – and end up electing a US senator who blocks much of President Obama’s domestic agenda. That’s the whole point Ms. Vennochi!

Appalled at arrogant Democrats, Wall Street bankers, and terrorists who sport attack underwear, voters can turn their anger into an excuse for replacing Ted Kennedy with a state senator who is running a clever, but ultimately dishonest campaign. Nowhere near as dis-honest as the Democrat party choice. You know, the lady that just last night was attending a fundraiser for herself, and Insurance company execs and Pharma execs just happen to also be there writing checks!

It is “the people’s seat’’ as Republican Scott Brown said during his debate with Democrat Martha Coakley. And for 47 years, the people of Massachusetts elected someone who stood for political principles that are the opposite of what Brown represents. And those principles are now considered bad for America. That’s why Brown is doing so well in Mass. “The People” have spoken!

Strip away Brown’s pretty packaging – his Massachusetts National Guard combat fatigues, his “American Idol’’- contending daughter, his warm and fuzzy ads – and this is what you get.

He is allegedly for health care reform, except he doesn’t support the historic health care reform legislation that is on the brink of passage in Washington and was Kennedy’s life quest. Then he is the candidate to vote for. Next.

He supports Roe v. Wade, except that a prominent anti-abortion advocacy group backs him as a “pro-life vote in the Senate.’’ Then he is the candidate to vote for. Next.

He dispatched his 21-year old daughter to attack Coakley for stating the truth: In 2005, Brown sponsored a legislative amendment that would have allowed medical personnel to deny emergency contraception to rape victims if it “conflicts with a sincerely held religious belief.’’ The amendment didn’t pass, but Brown owned it. It was attached to a bill that he ultimately voted for, which required emergency rooms to provide contraceptives to rape victims. That is NOT why the daughter went after Coakley and what the daughter did she did on her own!

Recently, Brown told the Boston Herald that gay marriage “is settled law. People have moved on.’’ Not long ago, though, he wanted to put it up for a referendum. Well duh, things changed in Mass and he was commenting as events unfolded. He is still the candidate to vote for. Next.

Brown bristles at Coakley’s persistent efforts to tie him to the Bush-Cheney years. But, he supports Bush-Cheney policies, from taxes to torture. If you as a Journalist (cough-cough) can’t figure this one out, then you should do the honorable thing and ask the Boston Globe to fire your dumb-ass!

And he’s willing to tap into that familiar Bush-Cheney fear factor, which paints Democrats as soft and weak “I have to be honest with you, folks. . . I’m scared of some of the policies I’ve heard,’’ he said during Monday night’s debate. Millions of Americans are scared of Obama’s policies. This is nothing new!

You want scary? No, that’s why Coakley will lose.

Brown’s a lawyer. But he uses the term “lawyered-up’’ as an insult, instead of what it is – a principle that makes America different from – and better than – the rest of the world. Under the Bush administration, Richard Reid, who tried to blow up a transatlantic flight with explosives planted in his shoe, was tried in a civilian court; he will, as Coakley repeatedly points out, spend the rest of his life in prison. In this case, the term he uses “lawyered-up” has significance because Reid should have been handed over to the military so he could have been pumped for info, or possibly given up someone higher in the terrorist food-chain. Now do you pansy-ass liberal progressive marxist get it?

Brown is also a judge advocate general, sworn to uphold the Geneva Conventions, who insists water-boarding is not torture. With that strange argument, he clashes with John McCain, the GOP presidential nominee who endorsed him. Not exactly… Brown took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Who cares what John McCain thinks, waterboarding is NOT torture. Having to read this crappy article is torture!

Brown and Obama agree on the need to send more troops to Afghanistan. Yet in his book, “True Compass,’’ Kennedy wrote that his proudest vote was the one he cast against the invasion of Iraq. Kennedy was a passionate Obama supporter, and no one can project what position he would embrace regarding Afghanistan. But it’s fair to conclude that on matters of war and peace, Kennedy would do what he always did: ask tough questions, as Coakley pledges to do. Get it through your thick skull… the Kennedy era is OVER!

Coakley has a record that should matter to voters. She cracked down on Wall Street. She won hundreds of millions of dollars for taxpayers by taking on Big Dig contractors. She prosecuted Neil Entwistle, who murdered his wife and baby, and ex-priest Paul Shanley for child molestation. Good for her. Maybe the state of Mass would be better off if she just stayed in her current position and let a real leader take the Senators seat. For the good of the people of course.

She has run a dull Senate campaign, and she doesn’t talk in quotable sound bites. But if voters are truly tired of “politics as usual,’’ why choose artifice over a candidate who isn’t trying to be anything but herself? She runs a dull campaign and that’s a good sign? LOL. Your desperation is leaving behind an odor.

She represents change, too. Coakley would make history as the first female senator from Massachusetts. Nobody gives a rats ass.

Brown represents a different kind of change. He wants voters to forget what he stood for in the past and accept him for the positions he now embraces. The voters seem to have already figured out that his past may NOT matter. You too will see this in just a few days.

Believing him is a risky choice for Massachusetts. That’s because you are a Marxist moron!

Truth or Propaganda?

13 01 2010

Propaganda!

The following short article seems to be an exercise that we are all familiar with. No matter what, tell the peons that everything is fine in Oz and convince them that the Marxist Angels have everything under control.

The truth is probably closer to a Chernobyl style meltdown but the Dems and the prez don’t want us to know about it. As usual, I have a prediction… THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY IF THEY PASS THIS HEALTHCARE BILL!

Gio-

President Obama and the two Democratic leaders issued a statement tonight claiming “significant progress” on the merging of the House and Senate health care bills, following more than eight hours of negotiations at the White House.

Here’s the statement co-signed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Cal., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid:

Today we made significant progress in bridging the remaining gaps between the two health insurance reform bills. We’re encouraged and energized, and we’re resolved to deliver reform legislation that provides more stability and security for those with insurance, extends coverage to those who don’t have coverage, and lowers costs for families, businesses, and governments.

The White House added that negotiations began at the White House at 10:30 a.m. and ended at 6:40 p.m. Obama popped in and out of negotiating sessions while also dealing with the Haiti crisis.

There will be more meetings in the days ahead.

Glenn Interviews Sarah Poll

13 01 2010

I spent the last hour watching the Glenn Beck show for two very good reasons. First, because I like to watch Glenn’s show. Second, he spent the entire hour interviewing Sarah Palin.

Because I feel as if I already know what Sarah is all about, the most telling part of the interview for me was, when Glenn asked her about being a Republican.

That brings me to the following POLL.

Progressive/Marxist Hate For Sarah Palin

13 01 2010

Our next President!

I’m amazed by how many on the left and the very far left, hate Sarah Palin. Yeah, I know ‘hate’ is pretty strong language, but it is the truth. Sarah had her interview tonight on The Factor and before 10:00 pm there were over 13,000 comments on the Huffington Post. In less than 2 hours, she was terrorized on the blogs. Below are a handful of the cleaner posts that tell you all you need to know about the left.

There is one comment below that is positive, can you pick it out?

Gio-

Has anyone else noticed that Palin sounds like Ernestine, the dingbat switchboard operator created by Lily Tomlin?

Tomorrow’s guest for O’Reilly…Snookie from the Jersey Shore…it’ll be a step up from Sarah Palin.

Wow, just when Fox couldn’t get any lower, they’ve whipped out their shovels and started digging

WAIT…WAIT A MINUTE WHO JUST HIRED BOZO THE CLOWN TO GIVE US NEWS…OOPS NOT BOZO THE CLOWN MY FAULT I MEAN SARAH PALIN,WAS IT THE OTHER CLOWN HANNITY?..

Hatred is not a family value! It’s a DemoCRAT value.

Requirements probably lean more toward hair style, really high heels, cute jackets, catchy phrases and a few English lessons. LOL

Only pathological liars need apply for Fox positions.

Fox deserves you Sarah! What a JOKE! Please hire me ! I have no education, speak without any knowledge of the subject, am totally superficial, have no command of the English language, and am as phony as a three dollar bill !! In other words, My Resume’ and dear Ms. Palin’s is IDENTICAL !!

You have to know something about *something* to provide insight! She doesn’t even know what magazines she reads.

Sarah Palin on FOXNEWS gives Bill O’rielly another women to Harass with “PHONE-SEX”. Bill O’rielly is bad news, i watch his interview with her and you could almost see what he was thinking as he lead her thr the questions.
I am not a fan of Palin, but she must be carefull with Bill O’rielly, she need to take her husband with her
when she appears on his show.

Just another bimbo added to their cast!

can’t wait to see the stumblebum falling all over herself, even with the edits you know they will make.

I’m nearly speechless. The fact that ANYONE employs this clownette is incredible.

And with God’s help Sister Sarah will again be in the public eye…..for all to see and hear her lies, half-truths, innuendos and stupidity.

Nobody is afraid of Sarah. It’s just too much fun to mock her because she takes herself so seriously and puts herself out there so constantly: complaining all the while about the press. Come on anybody that claims running for Vice Pres. was God’s idea just doesn’t have it all together.

Sarah does the same but she enjoys it. Perfect job for her. She is now getting paid to trash the president and to lie, which she will do plenty of.

This Brit Hates Real Americans

12 01 2010

I just found this piece of work by the Guardian U.K., and I must admit it pissed me off. First of all, it’s quite ironic that anyone from the U.K. would NOT understand the Tea-Party Movement, especially when you go back a few hundred years to see how we gained our independence from them in the first place. I don’t want to insult the Brits as a whole, just the dummy that wrote this little piece. And how can I prove they are a dummy… Item one, see above. Item Two, the very first sentence makes no sense. ‘Tax-hating’ and ‘Gun-nuts’ are two separate issues, yet they accuse us of being ‘Single issue’. There are more issues below that tells me this person is limited intellectually. One other glaring mistake… we are accused of being against Obama’s socialism. We may have thought that at one time last year, but we have learned more about Obama over the last 12 months, and we can say with conviction that we are now worried about Marxism!

Feel free to use this link http://www.guardian.co.uk/contactus/357957521 to tell this Brit to go straight to hell! Reference… “Pass notes No 2,710″

The Tea Party movement

A collection of tax-hating gun nuts and single-issue cranks who bombard the White House with teabags

Age: Not yet a year old.

Appearance: Annual Picnic for the Disgruntled.

What is it? A loose coalition of disaffected American conservatives gathering sporadically to protest big government generally, President Obama specifically and socialism, vaguely. Initially they objected to the government’s fiscal stimulus package, but the movement has grown to encompass an amorphous range of gripes both national and local.

When? Originally the idea was to mount nationwide protests on Independence Day – 4 July – but most events coalesced around 15 April, the deadline for filing US income tax returns.

What’s it got to do with tea? The name echoes a seminal moment in American history when colonists chucked a shipment of tea into Boston Harbour, in protest against taxation by the Crown without the consent of their own elected representatives.

Does the Tea Party movement go in for similar direct action? They have a form of protest called teabagging – putting a teabag in an envelope and sending it to the White House – that unfortunately shares a name with a sexual practice which you’ll have to look up on the internet.

I may disagree with their politics, but if it’s a genuine grassroots movement who am I to say they’re a bunch of morons? Critics contend it’s merely an “astroturf” movement, funded by rightwing thinktanks and heavily promoted by conservative media outlets such as Fox News, masquerading as a populist uprising.

Has it got a future? In February the first Tea Party National Convention is being held in Nashville, with the aim of uniting disparate organisations under one ideological banner.

What sort of person could unite this rag-tag collection of tax-hating gun nuts and single-issue cranks? Sarah Palin will be the keynote speaker.

Do say: “OBAMA: SOCIALIST PIG” or, alternatively, “OBAMA = HITLER”

Don’t say: “Mine’s milk, no sugar, thanks.”

N.C. Senator Shoots Intruder

11 01 2010

Evidently, this anti-gun Senator thinks only the elite class, which includes the political class, should own guns. The rest of us peasants should use pitchforks!

Gio-

Senators personal 22 hand gun.

Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician’s home county said.

The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

“I am not in a position to talk to you,” Soles said by telephone. “I’m right in the middle of an investigation.”

Soles, a top-ranking Democrat and the longest-serving member of the legislature, already was the subject of an SBI investigation over sexual misconduct allegations with former male clients. (FHW – Now, that sounds more like a liberal to me).

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn’t hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical DEMOCRAT fashion, the “Do As I Say And Not As I Do” Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine.
But, this is to be expected from those DEMOCRATS who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

REMEMBER THIS IN NOVEMBER 2010…..

Sarah’s Next Big Move

11 01 2010

Unless you live under a rock in a commune full of back-to-nature Hippies, you probably heard today that future President Sarah Palin has signed-on with Fox News. Read the story below. Before you read about her upcoming stints on Fox, how about taking a little poll just to give us an idea if we as Conservatives and Sarah supporters think this is a good idea.

Sarah Palin POLL

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, will return to her broadcast roots and take her conservative message to Fox News as a regular commentator, the cable channel announced Monday.

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,” Palin said in a statement posted on the network’s Web site. “It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.”

Fox said that according to the multiyear deal, Palin will offer political commentary and analysis on the cable channel, as well as Fox’s Web site, radio network and business cable channel.

She also will host occasional episodes of Fox News’ “Real American Stories,” a series debuting this year that the network said will feature true inspirational stories about Americans who have overcome adversity.

“Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup,” Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Palin, 45, is hugely popular with conservatives and has more than 1.1 million Facebook followers.

She stepped down as Alaska governor in July, 17 months before the end of her first term in office and less than a year after she vaulted to overnight fame as John McCain’s running mate.

The bombshell resignation stunned even supporters and fueled widespread speculation on her next career step — with predictions ranging from seeking the presidency in 2012 to hosting a conservative talk show. She told Barbara Walters in November that a 2012 presidential bid was not on her radar but added she wouldn’t rule out playing some kind of role in the next presidential election.

Since resigning, Palin has had colossal success with her best-selling memoir “Going Rogue,” released four months after she left office. She finished a nationwide tour in December after hitting some of the political battleground states from the 2008 election and drawing thousands of fans.

Palin majored in journalism with an emphasis on broadcasting at the University of Idaho and worked part-time as a weekend sportscaster in 1988 for KTUU-TV in Anchorage, using her then-maiden name Heath. The station’s sports director, John Carpenter, said the young broadcaster left after a few months because of the low pay.

Carpenter said he was sorry to see her go. She was a hard worker who enjoyed the entire process, not just being in front of the cameras, he said.

“She knew sports, she could talk sports, she looked OK on TV,” Carpenter said. “She had the aptitude, no question.”

Palin’s upcoming commentary career had her Facebook fans giddy with excitement Monday.

“Tell ‘em like it is girl!!!!!!,” one person wrote on a post.

“I look forward to seeing you on Fox….but I hope it doesn’t prevent you from running in ’12!,” another wrote.

Top UN Climate scientist says we are headed for mini-Ice Age!

FoxNews

From Miami to Maine, Savannah to Seattle, America is caught in an icy grip that one of the U.N.’s top global warming proponents says could mark the beginning of a mini ice age.

Oranges are freezing and millions of tropical fish are dying in Florida, and it could be just the beginning of a decades-long deep freeze, says Professor Mojib Latif, one of the world’s leading climate modelers.

Latif thinks the cold snap Americans have been suffering through is only the beginning. He says we’re in for 30 years of cooler temperatures — a mini ice age, he calls it, basing his theory on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the world’s oceans.

Latif, a professor at the Leibniz Institute at Germany’s Kiel University and an author of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, believes the lengthy cold weather is merely a pause — a 30-years-long blip — in the larger cycle of global warming, which postulates that temperatures will rise rapidly over the coming years.

At a U.N. conference in September, Latif said that changes in ocean currents known as the North Atlantic Oscillation could dominate over manmade global warming for the next few decades. Latif said the fluctuations in these currents could also be responsible for much of the rise in global temperatures seen over the past 30 years.

Latif is a key member of the UN’s climate research arm, which has long promoted the concept of global warming. He told the Daily Mail that “a significant share of the warming we saw from 1980 to 2000 and at earlier periods in the 20th Century was due to these cycles — perhaps as much as 50 percent.”

According to the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center in Colorado, the warming of the Earth since 1900 is due to natural oceanic cycles, and not man-made greenhouse gases. The agency also reports that Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007.

Many parts of the world have been suffering through record-setting snowfalls and arctic temperatures. The Midwest saw wind chills as low as 49 degrees below zero last week, while Europe saw snows so heavy that Eurostar train service and air travel were canceled across much of the continent. In Asia, Beijing was hit by its heaviest snowfall in 60 years.

Monday Morning Laugh Riot

11 01 2010

Maybe it’s my sense of humor that’s a bit twisted, or maybe it’s the idea in the article below. You be the judge as to who is the crazy loon.

Surprise and shock, I found this gem at the HuffPo.

Big brother is washing you

LOLOLOLOLOL!

The Earth Mirror isn’t your ordinary, pedestrian bathroom mirror … it keeps tabs on your water usage and induces guilt when need be.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most wasteful of them all?

If Jin Kim’s design concept, Earth Mirror, ever comes to fruition the answer to this riddle could be quite blatant … truly in your face.

The Earth Mirror is a mirror/water monitoring gizmo that attaches to your bathroom sink. An array of LED colored lights installed in the rim of the mirror display the amount of water you use on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. Since the mirror truly sees all, you can configure the system to limit the water coming through the tap when you reach a certain usage point. And to really drive the water conservation message home, there are LED icons of animals-and-people-in peril embedded into the mirror.

Check out the renderings of the Earth Mirror below to get a better grasp of how it works. I’m thinking the whole thing is a bit over-the-top — and do we really need another battery-operated/plug-in gizmo? — but I do like the engaging nature of it. I suppose sometimes it takes a bit more than an internal, nagging voice to really put proactive water conservation efforts at home into top gear. What do you think?
**********************************
Here is one comment that this piece inspired.

While brushing your teeth, fill a clean glass with water and use it to rinse your mouth. Drink any excess water in the glass. Wash hands by wetting hands and soap, turn off water, scrub, turn on water and rinse fast. Turning off the water as much as possible saves water.

If your bathroom mirror works, keep it. My mirror above my bathroom sink is 40 years old…and in excellent condition.

If you can use a pee cup, it will save you water more than a water saving toilet…. and flush your toilet only for #2.

Think about conservation every day.

You can threaten me with going to hell, but I’m not getting my pee cup and my mouth rinsing cup anywhere near each other! Hell, I don’t even own a pee cup!

What Beck Up-Roar?

11 01 2010

Late last week Glenn Beck made some comments on his radio show about the term African-American being a made-up term/name. Now according to the New York Daily News, Glenn has started a “FIRESTORM”, or something just as inflammatory because of those comments. Once you read the article below you will realise that this is definately one of those cases where the Media outlet, NYDN was trying to make news instead of reporting news.

Hell, even their own poll suggest that this was no big deal.

Glen Beck sounds off on term ‘African-American’

Do you think Beck was out of line with his comments?

  Yes.
  No.
  Not sure.

Poll Results

Do you think Beck was out of line with his comments?

Yes.             36%

No.               60%

Not   sure    4%

See what I mean? The above poll only proves that Glenn’s comments were no big deal.Gio- P.S. Media Matters is a part of this story, so now you know who’s behind this attempt at another Beck smear campaign.

*************

Glenn Beck may have stepped in it again.

Sort of.

The radio host and Fox News Channel commentator has folks in a minor uproar for even questioning the term African-American on his syndicated radio show Thursday.

“African-American is a bogus, PC, made-up term,” Beck said, in a discussion about the new Census forms.

“That is not a race. Your ancestry is from Africa, and now you live in America. Okay, so you were brought over, either your family was brought over in the slave trade, or you were born here and your family immigrated here, or whatever. But that is not a race.”

Beck’s on-air guests agreed, noting the frequent misuse of African-American as a label, using, for instance, the term incorrectly applied to  someone from Jamaica. Also, it’s not used to describe South African-born Charlize Theron, who is white and now a U.S. citizen.

The conversation stemmed from the new Census documents that give respondents three boxes from which to chose from: Black, African-American or Negro.

The watchdog group Media Matters picked up on the conversation and posted a clip on its Web site as has Thinkprogress.org.

“Negro used to be — is it still — not acceptable, is that still the clinical term, I don’t know,” Beck said. “It has negative connotations in this country. But what I’m asking is: what are the clinical categories?”

Not surprising, the clip, now circulating in the blogosphere, has generated a load of anti-Beck comments.

Last July, Beck created a real firestorm when when, during an appearance on the Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends,” he said President Obama’s initial reaction to the Henry Louis Gates Jr. arrest situation in Cambridge, Mass., suggested a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”

The show’s co-host, Brian Kilmeade then reminded Beck Obama had many whites in prominent positions.

“I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people. I’m saying he has a problem,” Beck responded. “This guy is, I believe, a racist.”

While we are on the subject of race, how about taking the “Conservatives Pledge on Racism”.

The White House Mafia

There has been so much written about Obama, that I’m now at a point where I don’t put anything past him, or his handlers, or should we call them “Wiseguys”? If ever there was a smart Mobster, Obama may be it. He has so far proven himself an adept Mob boss by organizing a historical win of the White House. But as the following article points out, it may be his immersion in Chicago Mob tactics that helps him keep such a powerful position.

Once again I am grateful to FS for keeping me caught-up on the latest important happenings. This blog works because of you the reader. For the most part I’m just the guy that manages the blog. It takes all of you to keep me informed, so I can then help inform others. God bless all of you!

Obama and the White House Chicago Boys

Barack Obama has a problem. His polls numbers are dropping and his policies are fueling an angry backlash across America. The Democratic party is held in disrepute, and congressional Democrats are dropping like flies. This imperils Obama’s radical agenda and his own 2012 prospects. What to do? Game the system and rig the future elections. That is how things are done in the streets of Chicago.

Signs are emerging that the Chicago Boys — the triumvirate of Obama, Emanuel, and Axlerod — are up to their old tricks, as I touched upon in a previous American Thinker column. My recent interest was piqued by two news items that floated across my screen in the last week.

One was the release of the White House visitor logs that showed visits by Anna Burger, Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and named by Fortune Magazine as “the most powerful woman in the labor movement. ” We know Andy Stern, head of the SEIU, routinely visits the White House and has boasted of the tens of millions of dollars and man-hours the union spent in electing Barack Obama to the presidency. We can expect a repeat performance come 2012.

But Anna Burger is far more than an SEIU honcho; she also is the vice-chairman of a shadowy group called the ” Democracy Alliance,” composed of billionaire funders and savvy political operatives who set out a few years ago to change politics as we know it in America. Among their projects was something called the Secretary of States Project that set about electing secretaries of state in key battleground states.

These are the very officials who are charged with maintaining the integrity of the voting process. Recall the controversies in Ohio and Minnesota — including ACORN problems — regarding the accuracy of the votes in those states last year? The secretaries of state who gave a stamp of approval to these elections (where Democrats won) were Democrats supported by the Democracy Alliance. Various state chapters of the Democracy Alliance have formed to use a range of controversial methods to ensure Democratic victories. (See “The Colorado Model” by Fred Barnes for a display of the type of tactics that can be used to manipulate elections. These include creating faux controversies, spreading them through supposedly non-partisan groups created by Democrat activists, and relying on an echo chamber effect until the mainstream media picks up the “story” and broadcasts it far and wide. Other groups are formed to harass journalists and editorial writers who don’t push the liberal line.)

Was Burger in the White House to plot future strategies with, say, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod? These are putatively the Chief of Staff and Senior Adviser, respectively, to President Obama. But before that, Emanuel was the maestro of political fundraising and spending, and Axelrod was a veteran political strategist who has run numerous political campaigns over the years (including Obama’s). The Democracy Alliance has helped form front groups to get Democrats elected. Axelrod is a master at this type of tactic.

The Alliance’s handiwork played a role in the victory of Al Franken over Norm Coleman, which helped secure a sixty-seat majority in the Senate. There was a group — Alliance for a Better Minnesota — that posed as a group of concerned citizens. The Alliance was funded by outsiders, namely the wealthy, hyper-partisan Democrats behind the Democracy Alliance. This was a so-called astrotruf group: it falsely appeared to be a true grassroots effort.

Tellingly, the Obama team has killed off disclosure rules mandating that unions reveal how they spend the billions of their members’ union dues. These, in turn, are often poured into “front groups” and other “funds” each year. Anyone care to wager whether these funds will flow to help Democrats? Thanks to Obama, we will never know. So much for transparency. But we do have change.

The second item that sparked my interest was Obama’s move to ditch the superdelegates’ role in nominating Democratic candidates for the presidency.

These superdelegates include Democratic members of Congress, national party figures, and established leaders of the Democratic Party. They vote at the nominating convention. The system was established in the wake of the 1972 Democratic Party nominating process, when anti-war radicals seized control of the party and ended up nominating George McGovern. The superdelegates were supposed to ensure that radicals did not take over the party’s nominating process. Well, apparently that sort of restraint does not appeal to Obama, who now has taken steps to shape the nominating process to play to his preferred territory: the caucuses, where his brand of populism holds sway. The Wall Street Journal noted the trick:

One reason for the superdelegates in the first place is the disproportionate role of activists in states like Iowa, which rely on caucuses rather than primaries. Mrs. Clinton held in her own in the primary states but Mr. Obama crushed her in the caucus states where his supporters found it easy to dominate proceedings where older and frequently busier people weren’t able to invest the time to counter them. Take the case of Texas, which has both a caucus and a primary: Mrs. Clinton won the state’s primary in which 2.8 million people voted, but Mr. Obama so controlled the caucuses where far fewer people (some 800,000) participated that he ended up with more delegates overall. The new rules, if approved, would likely mean even more of the same.

Since Obama’s policies are sacrificing the careers of Democratic congressmen to fulfill his agenda, these politicians may withhold their support at a future nominating convention. What is the solution? Remove them from the equation by stripping their vote. Out they go, joining the ever-increasing number of bodies under the bus.

Of course, the boys who earned their stripes in the rough-and-tumble world of Chicago politics (where the phrase “vote early and vote often” should be the city’s motto) will not stop there in their drive to win.

Why should they? Customs, rules, ethics, and traditions were thrown under the bus to get ObamaCare bills passed by the House and the Senate. Why stop there when there are so many ways to skin Americans? Skullduggery comes naturally.

There are other cards to play (and Obama is an avid poker player).

How else will the Chicago Boys game the system and gin up victories?

There was the plan to bring the census operations into the White House. That would have been a neat trick — put Obama acolytes in charge of the process that determines each state’s electoral votes (a strategy akin to Obama’s role in gerrymandering districts to favor his own campaign as a state senator).

While that seems to be off the plate for now, there is still the prospect that sampling may be used to collect census figures. That is a statistical method that has been denounced by, among others, John Fund of the Wall Street Journal as a formula that could be abused to exaggerate the number of residents of certain states and municipalities. This would affect the number of House seats awarded to each state. Those figures also play a role in the amount of federal funding flowing to those areas. Those are also the very figures used to determine electoral votes.

Will census figures compiled by community groups chosen by this administration be reliable? Remember that this team earned their stripes in Chicago and has ties to ACORN, which is embroiled in voter registration and other scandals across our nation.

There will be a strong desire to boost numbers in blue states, especially since red states seem poised to pick up seats and electoral votes, as people vote with their feet and move to red states. This won’t do for the Obama team — not at all.

So what to do? Fool ‘em with some other numbers, this time the ones with dollar signs in front of them. But the Chicago Boys may have tipped their hands by revealing one of their cards:

The government, reports The Hill newspaper, will target $80 million of those dollars to racial and ethnic minorities and non-English speakers — groups that vote disproportionately Democratic. Nor will Democrats permit efforts to limit the count to those here legally. An effort by Sen. David Vitter (R., La.) to exclude illegal aliens from the count went nowhere.

Illegal aliens don’t (usually) vote of course. But when they are counted in the Census they do affect representation in Congress. So some of the money you pay in taxes will go toward increasing the legislative clout of one party.

And those illegal aliens will also boost electoral votes of those blue states. We can also expect a campaign to allow felons to regain their right to vote. Anything to boost those numbers and rack up some wins.

But wait, there’s more.

The push to “Rahm” through universal voter registration is a ploy ripe for voter fraud, as noted so well by my American Thinker colleague James Simpson in his recent column. This is a proposal to impose a federal mandate regarding voter registration. State laws will be overridden by federal law drafted and passed by Democrats. As John Fund notes:

The feds will tell the states: ‘take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver’s license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be …’

What is the problem? Many of these lists include vast numbers of illegal immigrants, there will be felons, there will be duplicates, and there will be a lot of people who never cared enough about the country or democracy to take the simple steps to register under state laws. What will be the end result? A huge pool of likely Democratic voters will be created out of thin air — and then Obama’s army of volunteers and Democratic Party activists and paid contractors (think ACORN) will shepherd them to the voting booths. Between the pickup at home and the pulling of the lever, a lot of steps can be taken to ensure they vote the left way.

Are there any more ways for Obama and the boys to stack the deck?

The Federal Election Committee monitors how campaigns raise and spend money. Obama has appointed John Sullivan, SEIU’s in-house lawyer, to serve on its six-member panel. Obama’s campaign was marked by fundraising and spending scandals. (Among them were foreign donations being received and hundreds of thousands of dollars going to the SEIU, and to Obama-linked ACORN for “get out the vote efforts.” Hmm…”get out the vote”…is that anything like “street money“?) Community groups are being used, by the way, to collect census numbers. Given the record of “community groups” and vote fraud, is that a bright idea? The answer depends on which side of the aisle you sit.

The Department of Justice under Eric Holder, a close ally of Barack Obama , has shown a very lax attitude towards prosecuting Obama supporters for voter intimidation (à la the New Black Panthers Party travesty). Conversely, the DOJ is aggressively challenging state voter verification laws meant to ensure the integrity of the voting process. The steps that Obama’s DOJ is taking will allow non-citizens to vote and will also boost the number of votes, legitimate or not, for Democrats in 2010 and Obama in 2012. Does anyone think Holder’s Justice Department will prosecute criminals that help Democrats, given the example of the New Black Panther case?

The administration has also telegraphed a plan to push for illegal immigrants to become citizens. How many of the estimated twelve-million-plus new citizens will vote for the man, and party, that bestowed upon them U.S. citizenship? Quite a few, I imagine. It’s true that there will not be a quick payoff for this effort, since citizenship will take some time. However, there will be some Democratic voters created, and the effort will curry favor with groups that favor such immigration reform.

Many blue states are indeed blue (emotionally) these days because their economies are a wreck. Think California, New York, and Michigan. All are states that may no longer be so rich when it comes to money, but they are rich with electoral votes. These states might pose a problem for Obama in 2012 (vote the bum out). How to salve their anger?

How about billions and billions in stimulus money that is disproportionately being showered upon Democratic districts, and that often does not correlate as well with unemployment numbers as it does with partisan makeup? This is stimulus money, all right — designed to turbocharge Democratic turnout and reward Democratic interest groups (teachers, government workers) for their fealty to Obama. This is a far bigger pot of money than what’s collected when we voluntarily choose to fund elections on our tax forms.

There are other steps that Obama and the Chicago Boys are taking to help Obama. Obama may have won the Nobel Peace Prize, but he knows how to fight when it comes to his own career. Let’s remember that this is the candidate who un-presidentially boasted that he brings a gun to a knife-fight — one more sign that he does not play fair! Of course, if he had only a knife, he would likely use it to stick someone in the back, as is his wont. He did this with drug companies when he suckered them into a deal to back health care reform and then reneged on his pledge to oppose drug re-importation efforts after their support was in the bag. Israel is one small voodoo doll to him, given his proclivity to stick it to that nation. All the pledges and people thrown under the bus…

Will the Chicago Boys sic the recently expanded Internal Revenue Service on Obama’s ever-expanding scroll of enemies? He joked that he would do so when Arizona State University had the temerity to question his bona fides when it came to awarding him an honorary degree. A joke, yes — and like the jibes at Special Olympics contestants and Joe Biden, not a particularly witty one.

What happens when a media outlet does not kowtow to Obama? They get the treatment meted out to FOX News. What happens when a pollster reports Obama’s plummeting popularity? The Chicago Boys rev up the vast Oval Office conspiracy, as they did when their liberal shock troops attacked Scott Rasmussen. What happens when talk radio ticks off the Obama team? Threaten to resurrect the Fairness Doctrine. Then apply a dose of Media Matters criticism. Lather it up with some insults, and then rinse and repeat.

If that doesn’t do the job, release the dogs of war (bloggers, Air America, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow) to spread some misinformation and insults (“teabagging”).

And of course, there is always, always the race card. Obama’s ace in the hole.

There are other perfectly fine steps Obama is taking to prepare for 2010 and 2012. For example, the Obama drones are being prepped to swarm our neighborhoods again. That is legitimate, at least, if annoying.

But are the tricks outlined above legitimate? Weren’t we promised the most transparent administration in history, one that would transcend partisanship? That was so 2008. Sweet talk has been replaced by trash talk, and promises have been and will be betrayed.

What we got was a team that will stoop very low indeed to win elections, honesty and transparency be damned. Obama may be a good basketball player, but he and his team excel in the blood sport of politics, and they will use every trick and tactic, no matter how disgraceful, to win. That may be the Chicago Way, but it is not the American Way.

Protest Glenn Beck

Inside the State Theatre Saturday night, TV talk show host Glenn Beck urged his listeners to be careful, trust their guts and become the problem solvers for the historic times facing the nation.

glenn beck protest
Outside on Northampton Street before the show began, ticket holders and protesters clashed over what Beck had to say. Some called it hate speech, while others said Beck helped tell the story of American history.

About 10 protesters held up signs, including some reading, “Don’t Drink Beck Kool Aid” and “Hate speech posing as culture.”

Allentown resident Phil Stanley, holding an “Obama 2012″ sign, told ticket holders to not be hypocrites and turn in their Medicare cards.

“I’m not out here for myself,” Stanley said in an interview. “I’m out here for my grandchildren. That’s what I’m out here for, to make this country better.”

While some ticket holders laughed at the protest or walked by quietly, others yelled at the picketers with phrases like “You idiots!,” “Get a job!” and “Down with Obama!”

Phillipsburg resident Reggie Regrut, who organized the small protest, said Beck’s divisiveness is as serious as what the Ku Klux Klan has to offer.

“Glenn Beck needs to be challenged,” Regrut said. “There’s…some serious issues in this country and he turns everything into a bumper sticker.”

For Leigh Fillman of Dublin, Pa., Beck has helped her connect the dots of American history and provide a behind-the-scenes perspective, getting to the root of the issues.

“Glenn just really has put everything into perspective in a very, very understandable way,” Fillman said. “It’s like a puzzle. He puts all the pieces together for you.”

About four months ago, the Easton branch of the NAACP urged the State Theatre to cancel the show in light of comments made by Beck calling President Barack Obama a racist who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people.”

Theatre President and CEO Shelley Brown told the crowd Saturday night that no one considered canceling the show.

“Freedom of speech is alive and well at the State Theatre,” Brown told the audience.

Greeted with a standing ovation, Beck told the crowd that it’s “not fun to be a guy that half the country hates.”

“I don’t hate…I just want the truth. I don’t want it to be in the shadows anymore,”glenn beckExpress Times Photo | JIM MIDDLEKAUFFGlenn Beck at the State Theatre in Easton. said Beck, as white stars reflected on the curtain behind him. “I don’t want to say the things that I do. But I know each and every one of you, if you were in my shoes, as a dad or a mom, you’d do exactly the same thing that I do…You can’t not serve. You can’t let the moment pass.”

Asked about the protesters during a question-and-answer portion of the show, Beck said although he doesn’t like the politics of Barbra Streisand, he doesn’t protest her shows. He said he just doesn’t go.

“This is America,” Beck said. “It’s about time we start acting like Americans”.

Open Honest Government

10 01 2010

The highs and lows of the past year are starting to catch up to me. I feel as if I have been in a long hand-to-hand fight, and have barely come out the winner. With bad news coming out of D.C. on a daily basis, and the rest of the bad news coming from friends and family, the question is no longer “when will things start to improve”, it’s “are we going to survive” ? The latest round of bad news has to do with our political class.

I know I’m late to the table with any words on this subject, but how much more can I really add to what people already know? Right, not much. Then late today I came across an Editorial out of a paper in Panama City, FL. This editorial is short and very to the point. What I liked most about it is how it explains how both parties are guilty of shenanigans. It’s probably one of the best I have read over the last few days while I have been looking into something that doesn’t exist… Open and Honest Government! Enjoy…

#1 Joke of the Decade.

News Herald Editorial Panama City

Behind closed doors

Al Davis, legendary owner of the Oakland Raiders, has a famous philosophy on competing on the football field: “Just win, baby,” which is reflected in his team’s anything-goes style of play.
It’s the same strategy that Democrats in Washington have employed in passing health care legislation.
Although President Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress previously promised unprecedented transparency in the legislative process, the House and Senate have announced that with regard to their health care bills, they will abandon the usual approach of combining bills through a conference committee. Instead of holding a floor debate and inviting television coverage, they will craft a compromise behind closed doors, apparently without formal rules governing the process and with no Republicans at the table.

Second biggest joke of the decade!

That is unacceptable. Legislation that even supporters promote as historic in its scope in reshaping the nation’s health care system deserves full public scrutiny.
Make no mistake, secrecy and strong-arm tactics are nothing new to Congress nor limited to one party. Republicans embarrassed themselves in 2003 by passing the Medicare prescription drug bill with chicanery. The GOP House leadership, with White House backing, kept the vote open an additional three hours so they could apply intense pressure to holdout Republicans and turned off C-SPAN cameras so no one outside could see what was going on. Not only was the bill unwarranted, but the way it was passed was indefensible.
That was supposed to change with the elections of the Democratic majority to Congress in 2006 and President Obama in 2008. Upon becoming House speaker, Nancy Pelosi promised “the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history.” On the campaign trail, Obama regularly promised voters that he would have C-SPAN televise health care legislation negotiations. He and congressional Democrats rallied in front of a large banner and in front of a lectern, both of which were emblazoned with the words “Honest Leadership” and “Open Government.”
Those high-minded paeans to transparency are like the embarrassing truths that everyone tries to ignore at family gatherings. That was then, this is now. That was feel-good campaign rhetoric, this is bare-knuckle politics.
Although they hold the majority in both chambers, Democrats are having to scramble for every vote to pass the health care bill. There’s already been a lot of horse trading to get two versions passed; imagine what the price will be to produce a compromise. The leadership doesn’t want the public to see what goes into the sausage grinder. Public knowledge could put additional pressure on Democratic holdouts to vote “no.”
In 2008, candidate Obama supported transparency because, he said, “shame is a healthy emotion and that you can shame Congress into doing the right thing if people know what’s going on.” Now it’s the reason to lock the doors and close the blinds.
Americans already were growing skeptical of health care “reform” because of its massive size and dependence on government control. But the unseemly way the process has played out — holding votes in the wee hours of the morning and on Christmas Eve, carving out exceptions in the bill for states with fence-sitting lawmakers, etc. — has further driven down public support.
Democrats are likely to get their bill. Let’s see how many keep their seats.

The Democrat Plan

9 01 2010

H/T goes to Doc’s Wife for passing this on to me. For the record, I saw the segment where Bill and Brit had the conversation you are about to read. At the time, I could not get over how blind both of these very intelligent men were. As things unfold this year, I think both men are going to learn a hard lesson about what Obama and the Democrat Party have in mind for this country.

Understanding the Democrats’ Scheme

By John F. Gaski
Poor Bill O’Reilly and Brit Hume. There they were on the O’Reilly show a few weeks ago, puzzling over why Barack Obama and the Democrats are doing so many things that are damaging to our country. Bill and Brit agreed that they couldn’t possibly be harming the nation intentionally, because negative voter reaction would redound to them politically and electorally. Can’t the Democrats see this? Did they suddenly get stupid politically? This is so unlike them. How to explain this anomaly?

Poor Bill and Brit, and many others, indeed. It is time to think the unthinkable and speak the ineffable. Apart from the troubling question of intent, or whether Obama-Pelosi-Reid just have a novel view of the public interest, the national Democrats are unnaturally and mysteriously sanguine despite growing backlash by the American people. Why? One reason:  The Dems don’t believe they will ever have to face a real election again. Is their plan not becoming obvious? It is very straightforward:

(1) Grant amnesty to the illegal aliens (the correct term for lawbreaking invaders, regardless of their natural and rational motives) which will create up to 30 million reliably Democrat voters — especially after being registered at least once each by ACORN. That is cushion enough to carry any national election. Why else could Dems be so fixated on this agenda item?

(2)  Speaking of which, between ACORN and the SEIU, the Democrats will be stealing all the elections they really need anyway, starting next November. (The New Jersey and Virginia governorships aren’t quite as big a prize as control of the U.S. Congress, are they? And one wonders what the real margin of Republican victory in New Jersey was, absent ACORN’s intervention.)

Many laymen still don’t understand how the ACORN scam works. To them, ACORN’s excuse that they are merely committing voter registration fraud, not vote fraud, seems plausible. Here’s the deal: Register 100,000 phony voters such as Mickey Mouse and the Seven Dwarves, thus expanding the nominal voter rolls, and the Democrat vote counters then have the latitude to create 100,000 extra votes out of thin air on election night. This is what “community organizer” really means, and Barack Obama is forever stained by his ACORN background. Not that it matters to him.

America should brace for the biggest vote fraud and election theft caper of all time on election night 2010 — and in the months following. We now know as well that the Dems are guaranteed to win any statewide recount where there is a Democrat Secretary of State. And who, we must ask, is there to enforce the election laws now?

What of Florida 2000? It is easy to correct the prevailing misconception. One can usually tell what offenses against the commonweal the liberal Democrats are committing by what accusations they make against others (into which they project their own tendencies). In November 2000, Democrats did everything they could to try to steal a national election for the second time in forty years, right before a nation’s very eyes, with local partisan functionaries inventing Gore votes out of those dimpled chads. Still, the Democrats have claimed since Y2000 that George W. Bush stole that year’s election, even though every Florida recount, including those sponsored by the media, demonstrated that Bush 43 really won under the law. Republicans have been so ineffective in publicizing these true results in answer to the Democrat mantra that the propaganda has largely taken hold in the public consciousness.

(3) As if they need it, the Dems will be secretly encouraging (maybe even hiring) third-party candidates wherever they need them, because they know that is the way to split the opposition vote. It almost always happens that way to the Democrats’ benefit. If people such as Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck don’t realize this soon, instead of talking up the third-party route, they will only help to ensure a permanent Democrat stranglehold on Congress and the presidency — although any one of this litany of methods would probably be sufficient for that. So the Dems are actually conservative in the sense of wanting some built-in redundancy!

(4) What do we suppose the extra trillion dollars of “stimulus” money to be spent from 2010 to 2012 is really for? Just a coincidence, or a ready-made election slush fund? How much has already been committed to ACORN and SEIU?

(5) Then there is the “universal voter registration” plan that the Wall Street Journal‘s John Fund has spotlighted, granting automatic voting privilege to anyone who has ever registered for practically anything, anywhere, anytime. The Democrats and their henchmen could work with that, couldn’t they? Or why are they so eager to enact it? Their entire history has been to oppose laws that prevent vote fraud, after all. (What could be their motive for that particular laxity?)

These five strategies should be enough to ensure permanent Democrat control of our federal government — a virtual dictatorship. For them, it is a royal flush. But another part of the scheme may be the most pernicious of all. The worst is yet to come.

(6) When you become dependent on the decision of a Democrat bureaucrat for crucial medical treatment — after the health care takeover — how much power does that give the Democrats over you? Elderly voters tend to vote more conservative than younger voters, so letting the elderly dies because care is “too expensive” can reshape the political profile of the electorate. But can we reasonably foresee that party registration or political contributions might enter the bureaucrat’s calculus? Might it occur to the intense partisans of the Obama administration to grant lifesaving treatment to those they regard as “their people,” but not to others? What a neat way to eliminate the opposition! Party registration is already public information. And if they can overturn the secret ballot for union elections via “card check,” how long before they try to impose the same more generally, so they will always know how you have voted? Do not trust the judiciary to save us, either, after President Obama packs the courts with more ultra-leftists.

Chilling, isn’t it? But not extreme: Obama himself has notoriously displayed his disregard for human life by the stated willingness to sacrifice “grandma” to a pain pill and his coarse support for unrestricted abortion — even opposition to the Infant Born Alive Act, which he has tried to subvert.

When the Democrats achieve literal death-grip power over the lives of all our citizens, that’s when they also achieve their long-cherished dream of absolute power in a virtual one-party state. Now is it becoming transparent (so to speak) what the real scheme behind their mania for “health-care reform” is? Now does it all make sense? This is not your father’s Democrat party.

This issue is not about health care, ultimately. It is about raw political power and the long-promised radical takeover of the United States. For anyone who hasn’t thought of all this before, I guarantee that Obama and his party’s other leaders have.

Dictatorship in a one-party state indeed seems to loom for us. As one prominent commentator has pointed out, the normal order of the human condition is tyranny, subjugation, and dictatorship, with only a couple of respite periods throughout history, including our time in the West over the past two centuries or so. It just took that long for the totalitarian types to gain near-total power in our country, which they are now consolidating over the coming year. What are the betting odds that they will ever let it go voluntarily?

No wonder the national Democrats aren’t concerned about having to face the electorate again.  Pity the naïve, hapless Republicans who actually imagine they have a fair chance later this year and in ’12!
The long-time president of my university, Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, used to say, “At our school, we ask all the questions, even the tough ones.” How’d I do, Father?

The most troubling aspect of my analysis is that it represents the logical extension of irrefutable, objective facts. At least five of the six premises are no more and no less than observable Democrat behavior, and the other is a mild extrapolation at most. This is not good.

It’s over, America. We are now living under a proto-dictatorship in the United States. In less than a year, the full reification of it will be apparent to all. Have a nice day. R.I.P., U.S.A.

Polar Bears… Again

9 01 2010

Damn these people just won’t give it up. Read this dumb article I found posted over at HuffPo about how the Polar Bears are changing their habits on where they hunt and poop, or whatever. The only thing this long term study proves is… that the polar Bear population continues to grow and thrive.  But wait… they find a scientist that says to ignore that. How shocking!

Polar Bears Forced To Relocate Due To Climate Change

LiveScience.com livescience Staff

livescience.comFri Jan 8, 9:40 am ET

As Arctic sea ice melts, polar bears are changing their habitat, shifting from their preferred ice hunting grounds to land and open water, according to a new long-term study.

The findings have implications for people as well as polar bears, since the shift makes it more likely that humans will encounter these large animals on land, the researchers say.

The study was conducted over a 27-year period, from 1979 to 2005. Polar bears were observed in and around the southern Beaufort Sea during the fall as part of an annual aerial survey to collect information on bowhead whale migration routes. The Beaufort Sea is part of the Arctic Ocean with shores on Alaska as well as Canada’s Yukon, Northwest Territories and Arctic Islands.

Data showed that as ice conditions changed, bears were being found in different habitats. Between 1979 and 1987, 12 percent of bear sightings were on land or in open water, but not on ice. That number increased to 90 percent between 1997 and 2005.

In addition, the number of bears sighted steadily increased from 138 bears between 1979 and 1987, to 271 bears between 1988 and 1996, and finally to 468 bears between 1997 and 2005.

That doesn’t mean polar bear numbers are on the rise in total or in nearshore areas. Karyn Rode, a polar bear biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Anchorage, Alaska, warns that this study was not designed to estimate the number of bears using the nearshore area, and so it should not be concluded that more bears are occurring in the nearshore waters off the Southern Beaufort Sea coast.

However, Rode said, “Our results do suggest that bears that use the nearshore area are more likely to occur on land in recent years because their preferred habitat, sea ice, is unavailable.”

In the Beaufort Sea region, there was less ice in 2005 than when the study period began in 1979. In general, freeze-up is later and spring melt comes earlier with measurements showing since 1979 the summer melt period has increased by 13 days per decade. This is one reason for the region’s rapid retreat of multi-year ice, which provides a thicker, more stable platform for the bears to hunt and den.

Last year, international researchers involved in a separate study looking at melting Arctic ice and the effects on ecosystems concluded: “The Arctic as we know it may be a thing of the past.”

The new study is helpful in highlighting the need to proactively develop programs to manage bear-human interactions in coastal areas, researchers said. Bear-human interactions in Native villages and with industry in Alaska have been on the rise in recent years.

The paper was published in the December issue of the journal Arctic.

Leftist Tools!

Once again I get the pleasure of railing against one of my favorite groups to demean and dump-on, “People for the Un-American Way”. They try to pass themselves off as patriotic Americans, but they are FAR from it. What they are is a front-group for Marxist ideology. Read the crap they sent out today below (I’m on their mailing list to keep up with their activities). Edits by me are in the color red.

Dear Giovanni,

Last year, right-wing opposition to the new president and the Democratic-majority Congress exploded in the form of phony populism, race-baiting and a New McCarthyism — replete with guilt-by-association attacks, witch hunts and the stoking of irrational paranoia about communism and subversive elements within the highest levels of the U.S. government. This entire paragraph is nothing but Horse-Pooh! I never once saw any phony populism from the right, or race-baiting. The McCarthyism and guilt-by-association attacks are directed at Glenn Beck. How come the left cannot dispute the facts that Glenn has laid out over the last year? Because he’s right and they know it! Let’s continue… I have never witnessed a witch hunt so I don’t know waht they are talking about, but the fear of communism and subversion at the highest levels in government is true. It’s a real fear because it’s a real possibility.

What will 2010 bring?

In many ways, the so-called “Tea Party Patriots” became the embodiment of the new right-wing movement. The Religious Right and people espousing the extreme anti-government, anti-immigrant and gun-obsessed views of the sometimes-violent militia movement have joined the Tea Party crowd in unified opposition to what they see as a common enemy: the progressive change that Americans overwhelmingly voted for in 2008 and that the country so desperately needs. This paragraph tells me they have ZERO clue as to who we are. This claim that the majority of people voted for progressive change is also bullshit. Obama moved to the center to garner the independent voters. Now that Obama has shown his hand, he has been completely abandoned by the independent voter. Not only that, he’s losing more Blue Dog Democrats as each day passes. These people need to check his popularity polls.

In blatantly power-hungry exploitation of this new movement, the Republican Party has shown an increasing willingness to kowtow to this reenergized base. Well duhhh! The GOP has turned their backs on Conservatives in recent years, so Conservatives have joined the Tea-Party movement en masse. If the GOP wants the voters that have joined the TP movement, they had better pay us some attention.

Just this week, Florida Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer resigned under pressure from the swelling base of extreme right-wingers and Tea Party activists who have escalated an intra-party civil war around the GOP Senate primary in that state. And in this year’s elections we expect to see many GOP candidates for Congress and state legislatures across the country who are products of this new movement. Thank God!

Many Republicans in Congress have been falling all over themselves to win the adoration of the Tea Party crowd and some have already started 2010 by carrying out the Radical Right’s bidding in critical issue debates. Just a few days into the new year, 39 GOP members of Congress filed a brief to try to stop marriage equality from taking effect in DC. Once again, thank God!

In all the fights to come, People For the American Way will be your eyes, your ears and, where needed, your voice. We’ll be shining a light on the Right’s extremism, which should be evident at some of the many conventions and gatherings they have planned in the coming months like: Ok, this is hilarious… read the four bullet points below and kindly tell me where the extremism is.

  • The first National Tea Party Convention, featuring Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Rick Scarborough, Roy Moore, Joseph Farah and others is being held February 4-6 in Nashville;
  • The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), being held in DC on February 18-20;
  • The Faith and Family Summit, hosted by the Family Research Council in Washington, DC on April 29 — May 1;
  • Janet Porter’s May Day for America event at the Lincoln Memorial on May 1, with Far Right leaders like Mat Staver, Rick Scarborough, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), Louie Gohmert, Wendy Wright, Tim Wildmon, Gordon Klingenschmitt and others.

With your help, we will continue to Fight the Right in the states, in the courts and on Capitol Hill, where some of the battles from last year are not yet finished and many more important fights are on the way. Stay tuned. Blah-blah-blah.

Thank you for your support. And may 2010 be a great year. (for the Tea-Party movement).

Sincerely,

Michael B. Keegan signature
