Ok gang, the last time we had snow storm in my area we went 4 days without power and I was NOT able to get back online until late on the 4th day. Since it created such havoc the last time, I’m warning you that it could happen again over the next 48 hours. Million of trees came down in our last storm with millions of large partially broken limbs and branches still hanging in there. If the limbs ice-up and then it snows (as predicted) on them we can expect almost a repeat of what happened the last time.
The area in dark purple below is the area that Doc’s Wife and myself live in, so we are expecting the worse. Wish us luck!

My husband just hiked up our road, leaving MY car below. We have about 3 inches now, and lights are flickering. Good luck, GIO!
DW,
Same to you and your husband. Will have both of you in my prayers this evening. I think we will be better off this time than the last, only because I have done everything on my “Be prepared” list. The only thing we forgot was Marshmallows for Smores, but I think we will survive.

Good Luck, Praying you get through this okay.
Take care guys contact us every once in a while and let us know you are all ok.
Good luck w/the global warming storm…stay warm and dry!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. It’s really appreciated.
I think we may get lucky this time only because we did NOT get any rain with this storm (so far), only snow. Which is always easier to deal with, I hope!

You just got to love this global warming thing..
I’m waiting patiently for one person to say something about global warming to my face. Man am I going to un-load on them!

Gio,
Stay warm and dry, here in Garner it has just started snowing, we are expecting around 8-10 inches. We got plenty of supplies and we should ride it out OK. Take care and good luck, our prayers are with you and Doc’s Wife.
Tom
How you doin, buddy? Snow over yet? Just started here, but I don’t think we’ll get more than a couple of inches. Hope you’re well.
Thanks to all for thoughts and prayers. We are stuck at home, but it is melting fast. We only had about 4-5 inches and temps above freezing. Those further east of us were not so lucky.
Anyone want to comment on why the US military considers climate change to be a serious threat to American security?
Check out the Pentagon’s 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review (it will be released tomorrow).
Climate change has nothing to do with the snowstorm we all fortunately came through this weekend. But our military leaders clearly think that it’s an issue to which they should pay attention…does that mean that they’re lying? Do you think they are committing treason?
