I would like to use this thread as an Open Forum/Thread and have people talk about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Here’s a starter… What is your favorite remembrance or quote of/from Dr. King?

- Dr. King would be proud to see a man of color in the White House, but he would not be happy with the man of color that occupies it now.
Please take the time to tell the world that you are NOT a racist!

I was too young to remember him…but my dad always said he was a good man taken too early.
I like this quote: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
DCG,
I never bought into the idea that King was a subversive commie.
Unlike most all of his contemporaries and “successors,” he preached the word of God, not some bastardized version of it.
How sad that so many missed that.

My all-time favorite is his comment on color.
Judging a person by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin, is such a simple concept but it took MLK to put it into unforgettable (sp?) words.
All true Conservatives feel the same way because character counts so much in how they live their daily lives!
and that money quote will always separate us from the loons Gio.
It will be interesting to see how the libs will spin this blog.
Just a observation. But, I found today strangely void of any kind of MLK tribute on T.V.
True. Sadly I believe it is because of the special election in Mass. There is a lot riding on this state no matter which side of the fence you are on so a huge amount of attention is being focused there.
