Congressional Black Caucus Wants Stimulus Money Directed to Black Papers

CHICAGO   The Congressional Black Caucus has lined up behind a proposal to direct economic stimulus into advertisements in black-owned newspapers and radio stations.

In a letter to Vice President Joe Biden and White House cabinet members, caucus Chairwoman U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) said the money should be spent on ads with information about how to apply for economic stimulus funds.

“We write to bring to your attention the general concern among African American newspapers and radio station owners that they are not being given a fair opportunity to compete for federal advertising dollars,” Lee wrote Biden. “Specifically, we seek your commitment that black-owned media outlets are receiving their fair share of advertising dollars in conjunction with the various activities associated with the disbursement of federal dollars.”

The letter, first reported by Hazel Trice Edney in the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) newsletter, was inspired by a similar entreaty to the White House last spring by NNPA Chairman John B. Smith Jr.

In a separate letter to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Rep. Lee asks for an accounting of how much the Treasury and private financial institutions that receive funding under the Trouble Assets Relief Program “have spent on African-American, Latino and Asian American-owned newspapers and radio stations.”

In both letters, Lee said black-owned papers and radio stations are “uniquely positioned to communicate directly with segments of the population” that the government needs to reach with its stimulus package.

“African American owned newspapers and radio stations have historically captured and chronicled the hopes and history of the African American community when no one else cared,” Lee wrote.

Do Black Leaders Want Trouble?

The media seems perfectly happy to promote the wrong side.

As you read through this article you will notice how I have highlighted words, comments and/or phrases in the color blue. I don’t have the time to explain or rip apart all that I found, but I think my readers are smart enough to understand why I highlighted them. Some of them are highlighted because they raise important questions, while others are simply a butt kissing media trying to cover for Obama’s racist leanings and the racist talk from his Black leader friends. It’s almost as if some Black leaders want to start trouble.

Obama hopes Gates, policeman can work things out over beer

The scholar, the officer who arrested him and the president will have a casual meeting with the aim of defusing tension over the incident earlier this month.

Reporting from Washington — It started out as a casual suggestion: three guys working out their differences over a beer. But President Obama’s offer to play host to the cop and the professor entangled in a debate over racial profiling now has the imprimatur of high-level diplomacy.

White House aides are downplaying expectations that the beer summit Obama suggested last week will produce some sort of resolution. Even the date and time of the meeting are, at least for now, closely guarded secrets.

But both Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge, Mass., Police Department and Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. have agreed to come. And that means Obama is on the hook to achieve some kind of agreement.

Bilateral get-togethers between Obama and a host of foreign leaders in recent months have gotten less attention. The image of the president trying to use a beer-drinking session to mediate an ages-old, highly volatile dispute has given new definition to diplomatic mission.

Obama offended Cambridge police when he said that they had acted “stupidly” in arresting the professor at his home July 16 after a reported possible break-in. Gates and Crowley have left open the prospect of suing one another. And none of the three has apologized, although Obama came close last week when he said his choice of words was poor.

What does the president expect from the meeting, planned for sometime this week? White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in an interview that it might be the first step toward a rapprochement.

“A lot of this is going to happen between them [Gates and Crowley], without the president, going forward,” Gibbs said. “You had a situation where, for whatever reason, both individuals couldn’t step back. And at least this will provide an opportunity to show people that that’s possible — and hopefully start a bigger dialogue.”

The beer summit will be monitored closely. Many black leaders believe Obama was on target with his initial comments. ../.. They don’t want the moment to pass without a fuller discussion of racial profiling.

“His first response was appropriate, which was that the police officer’s behavior was stupid, not that the officer was stupid,” said Hilary Shelton, director of the Washington office of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People.

“I don’t believe that [Obama's] assumption is that, ‘We all overstepped a little bit and now it’s all good and let’s have a beer and how’s your family,’ ” Shelton said. “If that were the intention, this is an incredible opportunity that would have gotten away from us. The issue is bigger than that. The behavior of that police officer still needs to be dealt with, ../.. and the issue of racial profiling still needs to be addressed.”

Law enforcement agencies will be watching closely for any sign that the president will favor his friend Gates over Crowley.

New details of the arrest emerged Monday in the form of the 911 call that first alerted police to a possible problem at Gates’ home. A dispatcher asked the caller about the race of the two men seen pushing through the door. The caller, Lucia Whalen, did not identity either man as black, although she said one might be Latino. She also told the dispatcher she had seen suitcases near the door, and that the episode might been an instance of someone having “a hard time with their key.”

Gates had been returning from a trip to China and could not get his front door open.

Whalen’s attorney, Wendy Murphy, said that “she never used the word ‘black’ to describe the man, ever. Not during the 911 call. Not afterward.”

Police ultimately dropped the charges against Gates, but the arrest became national news.

In fact, when Obama’s aides helped the president prepare for his news conference July 22, they told him the incident had become a prominent story and could come up as a question. So Obama was ready. But he escalated the situation with one word he would quickly come to regret: “stupidly.”

Gibbs said: “I think if he would do it again, he would change a word.”

Obama’s conciliatory statement two days after the press conference helped defuse the issue, Gibbs said. But even had the president chosen to cast the actions of Cambridge police differently, an uproar may have been unavoidable, he said.

“Whenever you get race and politics, it’s like catnip,” Gibbs said in his West Wing office. “All you need is a spark — and cable television is happy to do that.”

The Case of the Mysterious Birth Certificate

This satire is no different than the Certificate-Of-Live-Birth that Obama and his supporters peddle as proof of his birth eligibility. Neither gives the names of the hospital & the attending physician.

Last week,  CNN’s president, Jon Klein, declared that Obama’s birth certificate is “a dead issue” because the original paper document no longer exists, having been destroyed by the Hawaii state government 8 years ago when the government went totally electronic.

At the time, along with others on the Internet, Giovanni’s World pointed out that what Klein asserted contradicts a press release last October by Hawaii’s health officials who said they had “personally” seen Obama’s original birth certificate. How could they if the document had been trashed 7 years ago?

In other words, both Klein and the Hawaii officials cannot be right. One of them either is mistaken or outright lied.

The Hawaii state government now says that what Klein asserted is untrue: When the government went electronic 8 years ago, it did not destroy paper documents, including Obama’s presumed birth certificate. At the same time, Hawaii still refuses to make public the now mythic birth certificate.

And…to think liberals and even some alleged conservatives mock those of us who want the truth by portraying us as wacko “birthers.” Here’s the latest example, by a supposed “conservative” columnist.

Experts on the nature of evil warn that evil’s distinguishing attributes include subtlety, deception, and the confusion it engenders.  We have all three in the Case of the Mysterious Birth Certificate.

In contrast, goodness is simple and transparent because the good has nothing to hide.

CNN wrong once again – birth record not destroyed

Directly contradicting CNN chief Jon Klein – who ordered host Lou Dobbs to quit discussing President Obama’s birth certificate – the Hawaii Department of Health affirmed that no paper birth certificates were destroyed when the department moved to electronic record-keeping.

“I am not aware of any birth certificate records that have been destroyed by the department,” Janice Okubo, public information officer for the Hawaii DOH, told WND. “When the department went electronic in 2001, vital records, whether in paper form or any other form, [were] maintained. We don’t destroy records.”

Okubo affirmed that beginning in 2001, all vital records, including birth records, moved to electronic formats.

“Any records that we had in paper or any other form before 2001 are still in file within the department,” she insisted. “We have not destroyed any vital statistics records that we have.”

Last Thursday, Klein, CNN’s U.S. president, told staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” the issue of Obama’s birth certificate and his eligibility to be president is a “dead” story.

According to MediaBistro.com, Klein wrote in an e-mail that CNN researchers found Hawaiian records were discarded in 2001 when the state’s records system went electronic. Therefore, Klein said, Obama’s original long-form birth certificate no longer exists. A computer-generated abbreviated version that has been promoted on the Internet is the official record, he said.

“It seems to definitively answer the question,” Klein wrote. “Since the show’s mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead – because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.”

Hawaii’s Okubu refused to say whether the DOH has Obama’s original long-form birth certificate, explaining state law prohibited her from commenting on the birth records of any specific person.

Okubu’s refusal to comment on the status of Obama’s long-form birth certificate seemed to contradict an Oct. 31, 2008, letter by Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of health for the state of Hawaii. Fukino claimed she personally saw and could verify that Hawaii had Obama’s original long-form birth certificate on file.

But both Okubu and Fukino are now on the record contradicting CNN’s claim that Hawaii had destroyed Obama’s long-form birth certificate when the health department went electronic in 2001.

The White House has refused to acknowledge repeated requests from WND that Obama authorize the Hawaii DOH to release all his birth records, including his original long-form birth certificate.

WND also has reported Obama has not released his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and his adoption records.

WND also has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

In addition, the question over Obama’s eligibility is being raised on billboards nationwide.

The billboard campaign follows an ongoing petition campaign launched several months ago by WND Editor and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Farah.

Last of The Kennedy Dynasty

As soon as cancer was found, I noticed the immediate attempt at canonization of old Teddy by the main stream media. They are saying what a “great American” he is. I say, let’s get a couple things clear & not twist the facts to change the real history.

1.    He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him.

2.    While  expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. Oops, the man can’t count to four. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to England (a step up from bootlegging liquor into the US from Canada during prohibition), pulled the necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war was raging. No preferential  treatment for him like “he” charged President Bush received.
 
3.    Kennedy was assigned to Paris , never advanced beyond  the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged. Imagine a person of his “education” NEVER advancing past the rank of  Private.
 
4.    While attending law school at the University of Virginia , he was cited for reckless driving four times, including once when he was clocked driving 90 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood with his headlights off after dark.  Yet his Virginia driver’s license was never revoked. Coincidentally, he passed the bar exam in 1959, amazing!!!
 
5.   In 1964, he was seriously injured in a plane crash, and hospitalized for several  months. Test results done by the hospital at the time he was admitted had shown he was legally intoxicated. The results of those tests remained a “state secret” until in the 1980′s when the report was unsealed. Didn’t hear about that from the unbiased media, did we?

6.   On July 19, 1969, Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts .  At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed his chauffeur’s keys to his Oldsmobile limousine, and offered to give a ride home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker.  Leaving the island via an unlit bridge with no guard rail, Kennedy steered the car off the bridge, flipped, and into Poucha Pond.

7.    He swam to shore and walked back to the party, after passing several houses and a fire station. Then two friends returned with him to the scene of the accident.  According to their later testimony, they told him what he already knew, that he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities.  Instead Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. Kennedy called the police the next morning and by then, the wreck had already been discovered. Before dying, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-down car. The Kennedy family began “calling in favors”, ensuring that any inquiry would be contained.  Her corpse was whisked out-of-state to her family, before an autopsy could be conducted.  Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says he repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne, and he didn’t call police because he was in a state of shock. It is widely assumed Kennedy was drunk, and he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix the problem overnight. Since the accident, Kennedy’s “political  enemies” have referred to him as the distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick.  He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and was given a SUSPENDED SENTENCE OF TWO MONTHS.  Kopechne’s family received a  small payout  from the Kennedy’s insurance policy and never sued.  There was later an effort to have her body exhumed and autopsied,  but her family  successfully fought against this in court, and Kennedy’s family paid their attorney’s bills… a “token of  friendship”?

8.    Kennedy has held his Senate seat for more than forty years, but considering his longevity, his accomplishments seem scant. He authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care easier for the indigent, and funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors and is widely held as the “standard-bearer for liberalism”.  In his very first Senate roll, he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S. immigration policy upside down and opened the floodgate for immigrants from third world countries.

9.    Since that time, he has been the prime instigator and author of every expansion of and increase in immigration, up to and including the latest attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.  Not to mention the Pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme Court Nominees, as if he were the standard bearer for the nation in matters of right. What a pompous moron.

10.    He is known around Washington as a public drunk, loud, boisterous and very disrespectful to ladies. JERK is a better description than “great American”. And you know, the Senate and house are loaded with many other examples like this but they are kept in office!? And they are from BOTH parties.

 Acting Stupidly

 At the end of President Obama’s health care sales pitch he made some remarks, which revealed elements of his worldview. He said the police acted stupidly with the preface of not knowing the all the facts, what does this say of Obama’s worldview? President Obama says he respects the efforts of the police whom he then claims they acted stupidly. He admits he doesn’t have all the facts and then pronounces judgment. Equally as revealing were the Harvard Professor Gates’ attitudes toward the white cop, i.e. the police. He made the same assumptions as President Obama. The common element between both of them is their liberal worldview. When someone axiomatically assumes a certain cause for the effect without ANY attempt to determine what the facts are, it says this person is operating on stereotypes. This would be like Archie Bunker assuming the burglary next door was committed by Blacks. Or the owner of the fancy house down the street is a Jew. I submit Barack Obama is nothing more than a modern day Archie Bunker. Just as Archie Bunker was the caricature for conservatives, Barack Obama is the caricatures for liberals. The obvious exception is that Archie Bunker was a fictional character whereas Barack Obama is not.

Here we have the demonstrated epitome of liberal stereotypes and jurisprudence, you are presumed guilty of all negative stereotypes unless you provide concrete proof to the contrary. The Archie Bunker of liberalism has spoken his truth but what truth was it? Was it race? Here’s something to consider, a Hispanic cop and a Black cop back up the actions of a White cop, however the common element between all three is BLUE. The Great Divider tossed the ethereal version of the race card. Perhaps we have all misunderstood his statement, because he said he was sorry that we misunderstood, but he did not say he was sorry for what he said. We were supposed to get the US VERSUS THEM against the police, but being the dolts we are, we thought he was alluding to race, i.e. the color of his skin because the arresting officer was white. Clearly the professor saw the other two cops of different races, so like Obama, he was claiming Blue racism against Blacks. Interestingly, the police union didn’t misunderstand Obama’s the message, hence their demand for an apology. Both Obama and the police are operating on the same wavelength.

Barack Obama operates on an absurdly stereotypical liberal worldview to the point he is blind to the facts even if those facts were handed to him on a platter. Is it any wonder that he behaves like a liberal demagogue spouting assertions that are easily proved false? As Mark Twain said, “all generalizations are false, including this one.” Generalizations are based upon one’s worldview, we all operate on a set of generalizations, however what separates a normal person from a narrow minded demagogue and bigot is a normal person will adjust their view in response to the facts on the ground. Demagogues and bigots are not normal; they view reality through the prism of their obsessive ideology. Circular reasoning is the hallmark of obsessive ideology, all conclusions are based upon the initial assumptions; facts are only relevant if they support the assumptions (beliefs). All generalities have exceptions; it’s how we handle the exceptions that determine our grip on reality. This is where Obama stands with his ideologically based axiomatic beliefs, belief trumps facts, no matter what reality demonstrates Obama and his cohort will only say and accept what they believe in their circular view of the world. This comes as no surprise to conservatives about Obama specifically and liberals in general, however, to independents who gave President Obama the benefit of the doubt, they are beginning to realize they were misled by his charm, they realize they were sold.

Hence, Obama during his recent speech deflected criticism of the healthcare “reform” by not dealing with the specifics, the reality, but by changing the debate to a personal attack on him. The idea of healthcare as his Waterloo is literally true to him personally since he views any attack on the idea as an attack upon him. Obama in bringing this up in an attempt to change the debate has revealed his worst fear by personalizing it. To a person who is a demagogue, any facts that are contrary to the accepted worldview are a threat to them personally. Any idea that the belief is in error is interpreted as a diminishment of themselves. A person with a weak self worth compensates by forming a rigid belief system, this is why self-righteous people are as extreme as they are. For the country to reject healthcare reform as he sells it is to reject Obama. Obama is the message and the message is Obama.

These ideas are disturbing enough but I will leave you who gave President Obama the benefit of the doubt with something else to ponder. Why did Professor Gates claim this was all about him being black as though he had prior negative experiences with the police? Did he? I assume it would have been brought up immediately if he did as his defense for the over the top behavior, so I conclude this was not the case. If he didn’t, was Professor Gates pulling the victim card on the police as a means to leverage power over them? What was it he said? “Gates continued to yell at me, accusing me of racial bias and continued to tell me that I had not heard the last of him,” the officer wrote in the police report. “Had not heard the last of him“? Would that be because President Obama is his friend and would punish him for daring to intrude upon his personal world? Did not President Obama promptly take up Professor Gates’ side very publicly on national TV of all places? Here we see a person who believes they have the privilege of being above the Law by virtue of whom they know. It would indicate Professor Gates certainly seemed to believe his friendship with President Obama trumps the claim of “I know the police chief so leave me alone or you will be sorry.” Does this give us any indication regarding Obama’s idea of equal treatment under the Law? As a conservative it certainly does but you as independents or moderates need to make up your own minds. I can only pose the questions; you as normal people need to come up with your own answers based upon the facts in this reality drama.

Rep. Lee (D-CA) Agrees USA Is Racist

July 27, 2009, 2 p.m. – Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, released the following statement in response to President Obama’s comments on the arrest of noted scholar Henry Louis Gates: 

“We agree with the president when he said, ‘that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.’ 

“What the president said was honest and it was right. There is a long sad history in this county of African Americans and other people of color being subjected to racial profiling. 

“Now is the moment for this country to tackle this issue as well as the many inequalities in the criminal justice system. The arrest of Dr. Gates is an unfortunate reminder that we are not yet a color-blind society and must work each and every day to complete the unfinished business of ending racial discrimination in America.”

Outsource Obama!

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced to India as of September 1, 2009.

The move is being made in order to save the President’s $500,000 yearly salary, and also a record $750 billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead that his office has incurred during the last 3 months.

It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be saved to the end of the President’s term. “We believe this is a wise financial move. The cost savings are huge,” stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). “We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash outlay,” Reynolds noted.

Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination. Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time.

Gurvinder Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices, Mumbai India, will assume the office of President as of September 1, 2009. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing at Niagara Falls, NY. Thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month, but no health coverage or other benefits.

It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference between the US and India , he will be working primarily at night. “Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer call center,” stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview.

A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should not be a problem as Obama had never been familiar with the issues either.

Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying issue at all. “We know these scripting tools work,” stated the spokesperson.

“Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about.”

Obama will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final
day of employment. Following a two-week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit.

Obama has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition.

According to Manpower, Obama may have difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his lifetime.

A greeter position at WalMart was suggested due to Obama’s extensive experience at shaking hands, as well as his special smile.

Suddenly a number shows up trying to convince the public that new housing sales jumped by 11% over last month. Then we seem to have had a co-ordinated effort by some of the more ‘progressive economists’ (talk about 2 words that contradict each other) that like magic “the recession is over”.

I’m not going to throw out numbers and stats, because I don’t want to waste a lot of time doing poorly what others will do magnificently, so let the bean counters do that. On a general level I can tell you that I DO NOT TRUST either claim. And it’s a sad thing because from now on, anything, and I mean A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G, that come from the Obama administration I will be forced to ignore as propaganda.

Gates Case NOT Racial Profiling

Here’s the definitive proof that the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr was not a case of “racial profiling.” The woman who placed the 911 call to the Cambridge police never even mentioned the race of the two men she feared might be breaking in to Gates’ apartment.

In other words, when Sergeant Crowley responded to the call, he had no idea Gates and the taxi-driver were black.

Gates caller says she didn’t cite race

The woman whose report of a possible house break-in led to the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. said she never mentioned race during her 911 call and is “personally devastated’’ by media accounts that suggest she placed the call because the men she observed on the porch were black, according to a lawyer acting as her spokeswoman.

The woman, identified in a police report on file in Cambridge District Court as 40-year-old Lucia Whalen, saw the backs of both men and did not know their race when she called 911, said Wendy J. Murphy, a Boston lawyer from New England School of Law. Whalen phoned police, Murphy said, because she was aware of recent break-ins in the area.

In an interview last night, Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas said it was ac curate that Whalen did not mention race in her 911 call. He acknowledged that a police report of the incident did include a race reference. The report says Whalen observed “what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the front porch’’ of a Ware Street home on July 16.

That reference is there, said Haas, because the police report is a summary. Its descriptions - like the race of the two men – were collected during the inquiry, not necessarily from the initial 911 call, he said.

The events of July 16 – when Gates was arrested at his home for disorderly conduct by Police Sergeant James Crowley, who responded to the 911 call – remain a matter of discussion, even as both sides seek to put the issue to rest. Tapes made during the incident may illuminate some of what happened.

Hass said yesterday that he expects some version of the tapes to be released in the next few days.

Race has become the central concern in what began as a report of a possible break-in. Whalen, walking from her office nearby, grew suspicious when she saw two men trying to force open the door of the home, according to the report.

The two men turned out to be Gates, who was unable to open his front door, and his driver, who assisted Gates in opening the door and left.

“People are making their own judgments about the case and assuming that she called police because they were black,’’ Murphy said yesterday in a telephone interview. “That sentiment is permeating the stories, and it ties directly to her involvement, even though the truth is she didn’t report seeing black men and she didn’t know the men’s race when she called 911.’’

In an interview at police headquarters last night, Haas said “it was very clear that she wasn’t sure’’ what the men’s race was. He also said that when the dispatcher questioned Whalen for more details, she told police she could only guess about the race of the two men. “She speculated . . . that one might be Hispanic.’’

Hi Alaska, I appreciate speaking directly to you, the people I serve, as your Governor.

People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing’s more important to me than our beloved Alaska. Serving her people is the greatest honor I could imagine.

I want Alaskans to grasp what can be in store for our state. We were purchased as a territory because a member of President Abe Lincoln’s cabinet, William Seward, providentially saw in this great land, vast riches, beauty, strategic placement on the globe, and opportunity. He boldly looked “North to the Future”. But he endured such ridicule and mocking for his vision for Alaska, remember the adversaries scoffed, calling this “Seward’s Folly”. Seward withstood such disdain as he chose the uncomfortable, unconventional, but right path to secure Alaska, so Alaska could help secure the United States.

Alaska’s mission – to contribute to America. We’re strategic in the world as the air crossroads of the world, as a gatekeeper of the continent. Bold visionaries knew this – Alaska would be part of America’s great destiny.

Our destiny to be reached by responsibly developing our natural resources. This land, blessed with clean air, water, wildlife, minerals, and oil and gas. It’s energy! God gave us energy.

So to serve the state is a humbling responsibility, because I know in my soul that Alaska is of such import, for America’s security, in our very volatile world. And you know me by now, I promised even four years ago to show my independence… no more conventional “politics as usual”.

And we are doing well! My administration’s accomplishments speak for themselves. We work tirelessly for Alaskans.

We aggressively and responsibly develop our resources because they were created to be used to better our world… to help people… and we protect the environment and Alaskans (the resource owners) foremost with our policies.

Here’s some of the things we’ve done:

We created a petroleum integrity office to oversee safe development. We held the line for Alaskans on Point Thomson – and finally for the first time in decades – they’re drilling for oil and gas.

We have AGIA, the gasline project – a massive bi-partisan victory (the vote was 58 to 1!) – also succeeding as intended – protecting Alaskans as our clean natural gas will flow to energize us, and America, through a competitive, pro-private sector project. This is the largest private sector energy project, ever. This is energy independence.

And ACES – another bipartisan effort – is working as intended and industry is publicly acknowledging its success. Our new oil and gas “clear and equitable formula” is so Alaskans will no longer be taken advantage of. ACES incentivizes new exploration and development and jobs that were previously not going to happen with a monopolized North Slope oil basin.

We cleaned up previously accepted unethical actions; we ushered in bi-partisan Ethics Reform.

We also slowed the rate of government growth, we worked with the Legislature to save billions of dollars for the future, and I made no lobbyist friends with my hundreds of millions of dollars in budget vetoes… but living beyond our means today is irresponsible for tomorrow.

We took government out of the dairy business and put it back into private-sector hands – where it should be.

We provided unprecedented support for education initiatives, and with the right leadership, finally filled long-vacant public safety positions. We built a sub-Cabinet on Climate Change and took heat from Outside special interests for our biologically-sound wildlife management for abundance.

We broke ground on the new prison.

And we made common sense conservative choices to eliminate personal luxuries like the jet, the chef, the junkets… the entourage.

And the Lt. Governor and I said “no” to our pay raises.

So much success in this first term – and with this success I am proud to take credit… for hiring the right people! Our goal was to achieve a gasline project, more fair oil and gas valuation, and ethics reform in four years. We did it in two. It’s because of the people… good public servants surrounding the Governor’s office, with servants’ hearts and astounding work ethic… they are Alaska’s success!

We are doing well! I wish you’d hear more from the media of your state’s progress and how we tackle Outside interests – daily – special interests that would stymie our state. Even those debt-ridden stimulus dollars that would force the heavy hand of federal government into our communities with an “all-knowing attitude” – I have taken the slings and arrows with that unpopular move to veto because I know being right is better than being popular. Some of those dollars would harm Alaska and harm America – I resisted those dollars because of the obscene national debt we’re forcing our children to pay, because of today’s Big Government spending; it’s immoral and doesn’t even make economic sense!

Another accomplishment – our Law Department protected states’ rights – two huge U.S. Supreme Court reversals came down against that liberal Ninth Circuit, deciding in our state’s favor over the last two weeks. We’re protectors of our Constitution – federalists protect states’ rights as mandated in 10th amendment.

But you don’t hear much of the good stuff in the press anymore, do you?

Some say things changed for me on August 29th last year – the day John McCain tapped me to be his running-mate – I say others changed.

Let me speak to that for a minute.

Political operatives descended on Alaska last August, digging for dirt. The ethics law I championed became their weapon of choice. Over the past nine months I’ve been accused of all sorts of frivolous ethics violations – such as holding a fish in a photograph, wearing a jacket with a logo on it, and answering reporters’ questions.

Every one – all 15 of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. We’ve won! But it hasn’t been cheap – the State has wasted thousands of hours of your time and shelled out some two million of your dollars to respond to “opposition research” – that’s money not going to fund teachers or troopers – or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the “politics of personal destruction” … Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn’t cost them a dime so they’re not going to stop draining public resources – spending other peoples’ money in their game.

It’s pretty insane – my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with this instead of progressing our state now. I know I promised no more “politics as usual,” but this isn’t what anyone had in mind for Alaska.

If I have learned one thing: life is about choices!

And one chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose not to tear down and waste precious time; but to build up this state and our country, and her industrious, generous, patriotic, free people!

Life is too short to compromise time and resources… it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: “Sit down and shut up”, but that’s the worthless, easy path; that’s a quitter’s way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and “go with the flow”.

Nah, only dead fish “go with the flow”.

No. Productive, fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts, choosing to wisely utilize precious time… to build up.

And there is such a need to build up and fight for our state and our country. I choose to fight for it! And I’ll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and life… I’ll work for and campaign for those proud to be American, and those who are inspired by our ideals and won’t deride them.

I will support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the right reasons, and I don’t care what party they’re in or no party at all. Inside Alaska – or Outside Alaska.

But I won’t do it from the Governor’s desk.

I’ve never believed that I, nor anyone else, needs a title to do this – to make a difference… to help people. So I choose, for my State and my family, more “freedom” to progress, all the way around… so that Alaska may progress… I will not seek re-election as Governor.

And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldn’t run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks… travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade – as so many politicians do. And then I thought – that’s what’s wrong – many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and “milk it”. I’m not putting Alaska through that – I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! That’s not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old “politics as usual.” I promised that four years ago – and I meant it.

It’s not what is best for Alaska.

I am determined to take the right path for Alaska even though it is unconventional and not so comfortable.

With this announcement that I am not seeking re-election… I’ve determined it’s best to transfer the authority of governor to Lieutenant Governor Parnell; and I am willing to do so, so that this administration – with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future – can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success.

My choice is to take a stand and effect change – not hit our heads against the wall and watch valuable state time and money, millions of your dollars, go down the drain in this new environment. Rather, we know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time, on another scale, and actually make a difference for our priorities – and so we will, for Alaskans and for Americans.

Let me go back to a comfortable analogy for me – sports… basketball. I use it because you’re naïve if you don’t see the national full-court press picking away right now: A good point guard drives through a full court press, protecting the ball, keeping her eye on the basket… and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can win. And I’m doing that – keeping our eye on the ball that represents sound priorities – smaller government, energy independence, national security, freedom! And I know when it’s time to pass the ball – for victory.

I have given my reasons candidly and truthfully… and my last day won’t be for another few weeks so the transition will be very smooth. In fact, we will look to swear Sean in – in Fairbanks at the conclusion of our Governor’s picnics.

I do not want to disappoint anyone with my decision; all I can ask is that you trust me with this decision – but it’s no more “politics as usual”.

Some Alaskans don’t mind wasting public dollars and state time. I do. I cannot stand here as your Governor and allow millions upon millions of our dollars go to waste just so I can hold the title of Governor. And my children won’t allow it either.

Some will question the timing. Let’s just say, this decision has been in the works for awhile…

In fact, this decision comes after much consideration, and finally polling the most important people in my life – my children (where the count was unanimous… well, in response to asking: “Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children’s future from outside the Governor’s office?” It was four “yes’s” and one “hell yeah!” The “hell yeah” sealed it – and someday I’ll talk about the details of that… I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently.) Um, by the way, sure wish folks could ever, ever understand that we all could learn so much from someone like Trig – I know he needs me, but I need him even more… what a child can offer to set priorities right – that time is precious… the world needs more “Trigs”, not fewer.

My decision was also fortified during this most recent trip to Kosovo and Landstuhl, to visit our wounded soldiers overseas, those who sacrifice themselves in war for our freedom and security… we can ALL learn from our selfless Troops… they’re bold, they don’t give up, they take a stand and know that life is short so they choose to not waste time. They choose to be productive and to serve something greater than self… and to build up their families, their states, our country. These Troops and their important missions – those are truly the worthy causes in this world and should be the public priority with time and resources and not this local / superficial wasteful political bloodsport.

May we all learn from them!

First things first: as Governor, I love my job and I love Alaska. It hurts to make this choice but I am doing what’s best for Alaska. I’ve explained why… though I think of the saying on my parents’ refrigerator that says “Don’t explain: your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe you anyway.”

But I have given my reasons… no more “politics as usual” and I am taking my fight for what’s right – for Alaska – in a new direction.

Now, despite this, I don’t want any Alaskan dissuaded from entering politics after seeing this real “climate change” that began in August… no, we need hardworking, average Americans fighting for what’s right! And I will support you because we need you and you can effect change, and I can too on the outside.

We need those who will respect our Constitution where government’s supposed to serve from the bottom up, not move toward this top down big government take-over… but rather, will be protectors of individual rights – who also have enough common sense to acknowledge when conditions have drastically changed and are willing to call an audible and pass the ball when it’s time so the team can win! And that is what I’m doing!

Remember Alaska… America is now, more than ever, looking North to the Future. It’ll be good. So God bless you, and from me and my family – to all Alaska – you have my heart.

And we will be in the capable hands of our Lieutenant Governor, Sean Parnell. And Lieutenant General Craig Campbell will assume the role of Lieutenant Governor. And it is my promise to you that I will always be standing by, ready to assist. We have a good, positive agenda for Alaska.

In the words of General MacArthur said, “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

A video has surfaced on YouTube of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. delivering a church speech in which he uses the N-word, rails against “racist historically white institutions in America” and accuses Newt Gingrich of attempting to block blacks from entering the middle class.

Gates became a lightning rod of racial controversy when President Obama defended the professor, who was handcuffed outside his home last week by police in Cambridge, Mass.

“We are trying to end what we call the one n-gger syndrome – you know, this place ain’t big enough for more than one of us,” said Gates in the video, filmed in 1996 in the All Souls Church in Washington, D.C.

“We in the academy have to know that our people, those of us who practice African-American studies, have to know that our people are under assault,” Gates said.

He continued: “Newt Gingrich can come in, that Contract for America is serious. You know what those guys have said? ‘Somehow, while we were asleep, all you white women and all you black people got into the middle class.’

“‘We are not sure how it happened. But the first thing we are going to do is we are going to shake the tree and any of y’all who can’t hold on, you’re all going back. And the second thing, we are going to set up barriers so no more of you all can get in here.’”

Gates was speaking to the church about his book, “The Future of the Race,” which he co-authored with radical black professor Cornel West. Gates was arguing for the continued employment  of affirmative action.

“Without affirmative action we would have never been able to integrate racist historically white institutions in American society,” Gates said.

“I was able to go to Yale University because they were trying to diversify themselves,” he said. “Because of racism I never would have been allowed to compete on a more or less level terrain with white boys and white girls.

“What we’re trying to do is end ‘your mamma’ and ‘your daddy criticism,’ which is what African-Americans quite frankly have mastered in for 250 years,” he said.

In clearly racially divisive remarks, Gates blasted the state of North Carolina, drawing applause when he exclaimed, “I don’t even like the airplane  to fly over North Carolina.”

One audience member pointed out American jazz icon John Coltrane was born in North Carolina.

“Oh, that’s true. I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” said Gates. “And they got good barbeque, too. So maybe it’s OK.”

This Is Race Analysis?

I have been so upset over this whole fiasco that I stepped away from blogging this weekend, well, until now.

 

 Fortunately, I have had a conversation with one of my good cyber-friends that just happens to be Black. I had a few questions I hoped he wouldn’t mind answering for me because as a White guy, I honestly don’t know the Black culture.  As usual, he came through. It came down to what I hoped it would come down to, common sense, and the facts. He wholeheartedly agreed with me that there was nothing racial about how the Officer handled the call.

You have to understand how important this was to me…. I spent 16 years of my life running  my own business. I started with 8 employees in a 3 car garage manufacturing and packaging surgical masks. When I sold my business a few years ago we had (depending on the project) up to 200 employees working out of a building that measured some 220,000 sq ft. I tell you all this because I am not in the habit of second guessing myself. In fact, for years I was of the mindset that it’s my way, or the highway. And to be honest, it seemed to have worked. Now that I’m semi-retired and dealing with customers face to face, I have had to learn to humble myself and understand that the roles have been reversed. Blogging has also taught me some valuable lessons about people from a broad range of backgrounds.

The constants for me when I was the boss, and the constants now that the customer is the boss, have been the following. I believe in God. I am a Conservative. And I really do treat people they way I would want to be treated. And yes, I truly judge people by the content of their character, NOT the color of their skin. Whenever you hear me make a proclomation that I’m completey against illegal aliens, trust me when I say that I could care less where they are coming from. For me the issue is BLACK & WHITE (no pun intended), with no grey area. NOBODY should be allowed to break our laws to get in to our country. And to think they can stay and cost us taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars, just sends me over the edge. Once again, I don’t give a rats-ass who they are or where they come from. You wanna come to the USA and taste the good life, get in line!

Lastly, I want to set the record straight about how I feel about Barack Obama. Short version, he sucks! Long version… I do NOT care what color the man is, what scares the crap out of me is the fact that he is trying to change the foundations of this once great nation. As president of the most powerful country on earth, his ideology is like a never ending nightmare, making Freddie Kruger look like the Easter Bunny. We cannot allow this Marxist to destroy our country.

A very good example of how Obama’s not ready for prime-time is how he handled the Gates vs Crowley affair. I’m not sure if he quite understands that he almost lit a fire that probably would have cost American lives.

And now we reach the pinnacle of why I wrote so much for this one post.

The excuses made by the following Journalist (cough-cough) is a slap in the face of every human being that has honestly looked at the facts of this case. There’s no need to look at it from a Black mans point of view. Just as there’s no need to look at it from a White mans point of view. The facts alone speak for themselves. Those that are trying to use this event to raise tempers or start trouble should be investigated.

Below, Obama hopes this becomes a teachable moment, well so do I. The only difference is, I can tell you right now what the lesson is… When a Cop is in the middle of an investigation, don’t start screaming at him like a little girl!

Analysis: What they saw during the Gates arrest

Henry Louis Gates Jr. felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as he looked across the threshold of his home at Sgt. James Crowley. Looking back at Gates, Crowley worried about making it home safely to his wife and three children.

Fear was the only thing the white police officer and black scholar had in common. Soon their many differences would collide, exploding into a colossal misunderstanding.

How could things go so wrong? How could two by all accounts decent men start a fire that drew comparisons to the O.J. Simpson case and knocked President Barack Obama off his racial tightrope?

Part of the answer lies in the truth seen through each man’s eyes during the episode, which ended with one of the most influential men in America charged with disorderly conduct.

If this really is to become a “teachable moment,” as Obama hopes, then we have to examine what they saw, according to their public statements — and why they saw it that way.

It’s early afternoon on Ware Street in Cambridge, Mass., a few blocks from the campus of Harvard University. Gates and his car service driver, a large black man, are trying to force open Gates’ jammed front door. Lucia Whalen, a 40-year-old white woman who works up the street at the Harvard alumni magazine, is passing by and calls 911.

According to Crowley’s police report, he arrived to find Whalen standing on the sidewalk in front of the home. She told Crowley that “she observed what appeared to be two black men with backpacks on the porch … her suspicions were aroused when she observed one of the men wedging his shoulder into the door,” the report says.

No one is blaming Whalen, who has not spoken publicly since the story broke.

“It wasn’t her fault,” Gates said.

We don’t know how she sees the world, what types of experiences color her vision.

But had she shared just one or two different details with Crowley — or if the sergeant had gleaned something else from their conversation — things might have happened differently.

Gates, 58 and gray-haired, says he was dressed in a blazer and walking with a cane. He says his driver was wearing a black suit jacket and matching pants. After they forced open the door, Gates says, the driver carried Gates’ luggage into the house, then drove off in the vehicle.

None of that was on Crowley’s mind when he walked up the steps to Gates home.

“Witnesses are inherently reliable,” he said later. “She told me what she saw.”

Crowley is on the porch, alone; Gates is inside his home. They apparently notice each other through the front door window at about the same time.

Crowley sees the unknown: “I really wasn’t sure exactly what I was dealing with,” he said later.

The sergeant is 42, a decorated 11-year police veteran who grew up attending diverse public schools in Cambridge. All three of his brothers work in law enforcement. He’s an instructor in a police academy class on how to avoid racial profiling.

He asks Gates to step outside.

“I was the only police officer standing there and I got a report that there was people breaking into a house. (The request) was for my safety, because first and foremost I have to go home at night, I have three beautiful children and a wife who depend on me,” he said later.

“So I had no other motive other than to ensure my safety, because this gentleman either could have been one of the people breaking in, or he could have been the homeowner who was unaware that there were people in his house unauthorized. I just didn’t know.”

Gates, meanwhile, is a renowned scholar of black history who has spent most of his life literally cataloguing the sins of the past in volumes like “Africana: The Encyclopedia of the African and African American Experience.”

“I know every incident in the history of racism from slavery to Jim Crow segregation,” he said recently.

He knows some of it firsthand. About 1989, hired by Stanley Fish to teach at Duke University in Durham, N.C., “one of the first things Gates did was buy the grandest house in town,” Fish wrote in a recent blog on The New York Times’ Web site.

“During the renovation workers would often take Gates for a servant and ask to be pointed to the house’s owner. The drivers of delivery trucks made the same mistake.”

“The message was unmistakable: What was a black man doing living in a place like this?” Fish wrote.

So when Gates hears Crowley ask him to step outside, he sees history. How could he not?

“All the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, and I realized that I was in danger,” Gates said later. “And I said to him no, out of instinct. I said, ‘No, I will not.’”

Crowley asks Gates to prove he lives there.

Looking out his front door, Gates sees someone who should be asking, “Is everything all right, sir?” He sees someone who would not doubt that a 58-year-old, gray-haired Harvard professor lived in this home — if he were white.

Gates sees a racist.

Gates leaves the front door to get his identification. Crowley follows him inside. Gates says he provided a driver’s license with the address of the home they were standing in; Crowley’s police report only mentions a Harvard ID.

“Now it’s clear that he had a narrative in his head,” Gates said. “A black man was inside someone’s house, probably a white person’s house, and this black man had broken and entered, and this black man was me.”

Gates demands that the sergeant provide HIS identification.

Crowley sees someone who should be grateful, but instead is yelling and falsely accusing him of being a racist. He sees a problem — “something you wouldn’t expect from anybody that should be grateful that you’re there investigating a report of a crime in progress,” he said.

Neither man understood what the other one saw.

Gates continues to demand that Crowley provide his name and badge number.

Crowley said in his report that he had already told Gates his name, twice, but Gates was yelling too much to hear him. Gates said Crowley ignored his demands.

Gates doesn’t let up. Crowley says he’ll talk to Gates outside. Then he says something Crowley understands perfectly, boiling down his 2,095 pages of “Africana” down into one cry of resistance:

“I’ll speak with your mama outside,” he said, according to the police report.

Gates denies making the remark.

Should Gates have realized that you can’t antagonize the police? Should Crowley have understood what it means to suspect a black man of breaking into his own home? Arguments will persist for years.

Once he recovered his balance, backing off his statement that Crowley acted “stupidly,” he Obama assumed his traditional position of racial referee and said that both men overreacted.

“My hope,” the first black president continued, “is that as a consequence of this event, this ends up being what’s called a teachable moment, where all of us, instead of pumping up the volume, spend a little more time listening to each other … and that instead of flinging accusations, we can all be a little more reflective in terms of what we can do to contribute to more unity.”

Last week, the media was forced into reporting on the Obama birth-certificate/eligibility issue.  It had little choice because respected CNN Journalist Lou Dobbs had the audacity to suggest that Obama should produce his long-form birth certificate to put to rest the doubts of millions of Americans who believe Obama is not constitutionally eligible to serve as President.  Immediately and predictably, much of the reporting from the main stream media was in the form of vicious attacks, seeking to discredit Mr. Dobbs and others looking for clear and convincing evidence that Mr. Obama is or is not a “Natural Born Citizen” entitling him to serve as President of the United States.  Left-wing bloggers and those in the media who have been carry Obama’s water this past year circled the wagons, and calls that Lou Dobbs be fired rang out. I have to salute Lou Dobbs for his courage and sense of ethical responsibility in addressing this issue at all. Of all the CNN commentators, Lou Dobbs is the one who consistently tries to be fair to all sides.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times reported that “CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers at the cable news network Thursday night that the supposed controversy regarding the legitimacy of President Obama’s birth certificate is a “dead” story.”  The article went on to report:

…The website TVNewser reported today that Klein sent an e-mail to staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” just as the program went to air, informing them that CNN researchers had determined that Hawaiian officials discarded all paper documents in 2001. A long-form birth certificate with details about the doctor who delivered Obama no longer exists, they reported. The shorter Certificate of Live Birth noting Obama’s birth on Aug. 4, 1961, that has been made public is the official record.

“It seems to definitively answer the question,” Klein wrote, according to TVNewser. “Since the show’s mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead — because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.”…

Whether or not the assertion that Obama’s long form birth certificate has been destroyed is true, the action by Mr. Klein was clearly intended to get Lou Dobbs to stop rocking the boat and move on.

It seems to me that if the facts are as Mr. Klein says, serious reporters and investigators would be turning over every stone to try to find the truth.  Serious reporters would be going to Kenya; talking to administrators, faculty, and students at all the colleges Obama attended to discover if he talked about his birthplace, applied/registered as a foreign student or received aid as a foreign student; they’d be looking at his past travel and what passports he carried; and they would be seeking the information provided on Obama’s Illinois Bar Application.  One would think that an innocent person sitting in the Oval Office would quickly provide all information necessary to put to bed this troubling “eligibility issue”. Obama has not. (George Bush or Bill Clinton would have, I’m sure.) In fact, Obama has spend hundreds of thousands of dollars (some say 1 to 2 million) trying to keep the past hidden. Thank you, Lou Dobbs, for having the courage to ask the simple question – Where’s the Birth Certificate?

I seriously long for the good old days, when if a reporter or CNN President said something, there was a better than 50% chance it was true.  Unfortunately, regarding the “birth certificate issue” most reporters today are intentionally misstating the facts.  In many of today’s news stories, the headline or body of the story will say something like “birthers don’t believe Obama is a Citizen” or “of course Obama is a Citizen” or “Lou Dobbs believes Obama is a Citizen”.  Such statements are intentionally misleading and are included to portray those asking questions as ridiculous tin-foil hat wearing fools. As Mr. Dobbs has quickly learned, there is a price to be paid for asking questions that might impugn the Obama narrative. (Larry Sinclair was certainly taught this lesson.)

It seems the media is reading from the same playbook. They have somehow decided that if they can blur the meanings of terms “Citizen” and “Natural Born Citizen”, the general public will not look deeply into the issue because the answer is so obvious, and it will go away. I guess they hope that any time the issue comes up in conversation there will be a knee jerk reaction causing someone to say: That’s stupid, of course Obama is a Citizen, only a fool would think such a thing.

Ridicule is effective, but it won’t deter those who have seriously looked at the allegations and the “common sense” circumstances that compel further inquiry.  Why has Obama not provided his school records, Illinois bar application, long-form birth certificate, passport information, etc., if he doesn’t have anything to hide?  Why has he spent such enormous sums of money on lawyers to keep these documents hidden?  Common sense says there’s something here.  Common sense also says that if these allegations are true, this would be biggest fraud perpetrated against America in her history. To far fetched?  Did you see the news about authorities arrest 44 in N.J. corruption case (2 lawmakers, 3 mayors, and rabbis accused)? (Mostly, Democrats as far as I can tell.)

The media playbook conveys the understanding that it’s important to blur the definitions of Citizen and Natural Born Citizen because it goes to heart of the matter, the legal and common sense notions of “dispositive facts”.  If this is true, then everything else is false or doesn’t matter. Period!  Then anyone who raises such questions is a fool. Obama is a Citizen and of course he is eligible is what the media wants people to believe.  This is pure media mischief, dishonesty, and treachery through and through.

Here’s what people need to know. Even accepting as “fact” that Obama is a Citizen of the United States, it is not a “dispositive fact” that would determine the outcome of the “eligibility issue”.  There are many ways to become an American “Citizen”.  How one acquires “Natural Born Citizen” status is determined solely by the Constitution of the United States.  “Citizen” and “Natural Born Citizen” are NOT synonymous terms. It is the Law (Constitutionally required) that every person holding the Office of President must meet the “Natural Born Citizen” test, which was meant to provide an added measure of presumed allegiance to the United States and her Constitution.  (For example: We would not want an arsonist to be able to become a fireman. If a person does not have a clean record regarding arson, he or she should not be allowed to be a fireman.  It’s not a guarantee that a fireman with no criminal record of arson is not an arsonist, but it’s a step that gives an added measure security.) As Obama says, “let me be clear”, one can be a Citizen and NOT be a “Natural Born Citizen.”

The flip side of this coin – if Obama is found not to be a “Natural Born Citizen”, it would be the “dispositive fact” that would determine the outcome of the “eligibility issue”. Obama could not be President.

So, which type of “Citizen” is Obama?  Real reporters would be turning over heaven and earth to find out.  The American reporters are turning over heaven and earth to cover it up.

Is Obama a “Natural Born Citizen”? It is the one question that must be answered.

There is no middle ground.  If Obama cannot serve as Office of the President of the United States, then all appointments (Holder, Sotomayor, Czars, etc.) made by Obama are invalid; as well as any laws, acts or treaties entered into. If Obama cannot lawfully hold the Office of the President of the United States, all “orders” issued to the United States Military are “unlawful orders”. This last point is why I am so thankful that it appears that Dr. Orly Taitz’s eligibility case will be heard on the merits. Every soldier has a legal responsibility to  follow only orders that are “lawful”.  Given that burden, every soldier must have a right to be certain of Obama’s authority.

When I look at what Obama has done, is doing and/or proposing regarding Obamanomics, ObamaCare, taking over the auto industry, taking over banks, corrupting Inspector Generals’ independence, the unwillingness to audit the Fed., his unjust treatment of Inspector General Walpin, his lack of transparency, his appointment of an army of Czars circumventing Congress, his appoint to the Supreme Court, his appointment to head Science, Gitmo, abortion, eugenics, trans-nationalist ideologies, trampling on State’s rights guaranteed under the 10th Amendment, his assault on the Second Amendment, Homeland Security looking at returning Veterans as Terrorists, ACORN, national security, the Census, his treatment of the Cambridge police, and Cap & Tax; it sure looks to me like an arsonist trying to burn up the Constitution of the United States and replace it with some sort of Socialist manifesto.

If Obama is going to cause the destruction of America and Israel, I at least want to know that he was constitutionally empowered as a “Natural Born Citizen” serving as President of the United States to destroy us. I hate to think all this could have been prevented by some state official somewhere doing their job and asking to see proof that Obama was eligible to run for office. That never happened.

Why Are There Czars In America?

The word “Czar” or “Tzar” is a Russian word which means Emperor. It is the Russian equivalent of the Latin word “Caesar.” Russia was ruled by Czars until the revolution of February 1917.

The Russian Czars were autocrats with total power, unchecked by man or institution, which made Imperial Russia a totalitarian state where the Czar’s power seeped into every nook and cranny of society. Nothing was private.

Given that, it is interesting why the United States, a democratic republic, has created the title of “czars” for bureaucratic appointees within the Executive branch. These little czars require no Senate approval/confirmation and, as a result, are accountable to only the president and no one else.

Thus far, The Fraud has appointed 35 czars. This is Obama’s way of bypassing the democratic principle of checks and balances which the Founding Fathers created to protect the people’s rights by ensuring that political power will not be abused.

Enough already with these czars. I say “Off with their heads!”

CZAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACES

THE REAL POWER IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS UNCONFIRMED AND UNACCOUNTABLE

If you can’t beat ‘em, czar ‘em. This is the standard operating procedure in Obama World. The time-honored Senate confirmation process proved to be a dangerous landmine for one too many of the president’s picks. But the White House found the perfect cure for Obama Nominee Withdrawal Syndrome: Avoid future debacles by circumventing the nomination process altogether.

So far, czars have been installed in at least 35 posts through presidential executive orders that require no Senate approval. No Senate review, no questions. No questions, no problems.

The Obama administration has created a two-tiered government — fronted by Cabinet secretaries able to withstand public scrutiny (some of them, just barely) and then managed behind the scenes by shadow secretaries with broad powers beyond congressional reach. Bureaucratic chaos serves as a useful smokescreen to obscure the true source of policy decision-making. Energy czar Carol Browner epitomized the secretive dealings of these offices when she advised auto industry executives this month to “to put nothing in writing, ever” about their meetings with her.

While past administrations dating back to the Nixon era have designated such “super aides,” none has extended the concept as widely as Obama has. Currently, 35 out of 44 current “czar” slots are presidential appointments. They are among the highest-paid staffers at the White House. Most of Obama’s key czars have Cabinet counterparts already in place.

It’s not just the unprecedented quantity of White House-appointed bureaucratic commissars that galls. It’s their shockingly compromised ethics and integrity. Here are three of Obama’s most interest-conflicted, superfluous, and criminal czars and czarinas:

Nancy DeParle, Health Czar

Former Kansas Democrat Governor Kathleen Sebelius won Senate confirmation as Health and Human Services Secretary. But the real power lies with with newly-created health czar Nancy-Ann Min DeParle. Her official title: Director of the White House Office for Health Reform.

DeParle ran the behemoth Medicare and Medicaid programs under Bill Clinton. She parlayed her government experience into a lucrative private-sector stint. Over the past three years, she made nearly $6 million from her work in the health care industry. Despite President Obama’s loud denunciations of the revolving-door lobbyist culture in Washington, DeParle’s industry ties didn’t bother the White House.

She served as an investment advisor at JP Morgan Partners, LLC; sat on the board of directors at Boston Scientific Corporation; and held directorships at Accredo Health Group Inc., Triad Hospitals (now part of Community Health Systems), and DaVita Corporation. In all, she sat on at least 10 boards while advising JP Morgan and working as managing director at a private equity firm, CCMP Capital.

From 2002 to 2008, while holding all those titles, DeParle also served as a member of the government-chartered Medicare Payment Advisory Committee (MedPAC), an influential panel that advises Congress on what Medicare should cover and at what price. Last month, former MedPAC member DeParle cozily announced that Obama was “open to making recommendations of [MedPAC] mandatory unless opposed by a joint resolution of Congress.”

Obama famously signed an early executive order requiring appointees to pledge not to participate “in any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to any former employer or former clients” for a period of two years from the date of his or her appointment. But it’s hard to imagine any health care reform-related issue that won’t involve one of DeParle’s former employers, clients, and corporate boards in the health care industry. She earned at least $376,000 from Cerner Corporation, for example, which specializes in health information technology. As health czar, DeParle has unmeasured clout in directing $19 billion of federal stimulus money earmarked for, yes, health information technology.

Last week, a Washington, D.C. citizen watchdog filed suit to force the White House to disclose which health care lobbyists and executives it had met with this year to discuss insurance takeover legislation. White House counsel Greg Craig refused to disclose which administration officials attended the meetings. But at least two of the industry visitors have ties to DeParle. William C. Weldon is chairman of Johnson & Johnson, which paid DeParle $7,500 for a recent speech. Wayne Smith is chief executive of Community Health Systems, which merged with Triad Hospitals – where DeParle served on the board of directors. DeParle’s options were converted to cash payments worth $1.05 million.

Despite Obama’s lip service to transparency, the public is in the dark about which assets DeParle has divested and how many times, if any, DeParle has recused herself from policy matters and meetings. Czardom has its privileges.

Adolfo Carrion, Urban Czar

Former Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrión Jr., the nation’s “urban czar” is a man in Obama’s own image: Son of immigrants. Charismatic. Ambitious. And embroiled in pay-for-play scandals that would make the Chicago political machine proud.

Carrion’s official title: Head of the White House Office of Urban Affairs. But doesn’t the president already have a Secretary of Housing and Urban Development? Yes. That spot went to Harvard grad and former Clinton HUD official Shaun Donovan, who moved up from his role as New York City commissioner of housing and development. Grievance groups, however, were miffed that the HUD job didn’t go to a racial or ethnic minority. (Donovan is white; HUD is a notorious bastion of cronyism of color.) Enter Carrión.

As a reward for turning out the Latino vote, Obama gave Carrion the unprecedented power to shower federal dollars on urban areas and coordinate urban policy across several bureaucracies. In practice, the job empowers Carrión to carry out the kind of pay-to-play schemes that sullied his tenure in the Bronx on a nationwide scale. It’s Obama-approved old school patronage dressed up as the new urban renewal.

As Bronx Borough president, Carrion took tens of thousands of dollars in donations from real estate firms just before and after the developers snagged lucrative deals or crucial zoning changes for their projects. In turn, he made millions in public tax dollars available to his cronies. And Carrion rubber-stamped three housing projects for an architect whom he hired to renovate his City Island Victorian home. It is illegal for an elected official to accept such a gift, but Carrión failed to pay the architect until after he was tapped for his urban czar post. The White House shrugged.

Similar arrangements involving home renovation freebies from corporate suitors resulted in multiple criminal convictions for entrenched Alaska GOP Senator Ted Stevens and forced the resignation of Republican former Connecticut Governor John Rowland. But there was barely a peep from the Beltway’s clean government types about Carrión’s smelly deals. He is also a lavish spender – squandering nearly $20,000 on a teleprompter, junkets to San Juan, and $50,000 on a going away party for himself. Viva la Hope and Change.

Vivek Kundra, Technology Czar

Who thinks putting a shoplifter in charge of the entire federal government’s information security infrastructure is a good idea? The Obama White House has complete confidence in Vivek Kundra, the 34-year-old “whiz kid” named Federal Chief Information Officer in March 2009 despite his criminal history. As first reported by Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com, Kundra was convicted of misdemeanor theft. He stole a handful of men’s shirts from a J.C. Penney’s department store and ran from police in a failed attempt to evade arrest. Kundra was a 21-year-old adult at the time of his attempted thievery and attempted escape from the police. From the White House’s pooh-poohing of the incident as a “youthful indiscretion,” you might have thought the digits in his age were reversed.

Whitewashing the petty thief’s crimes, Obama instead effused about his technology czar’s “depth of experience in the technology arena.” As the nation’s CIO, Kundra “will play a key role in making sure our government is running in the most secure, open, and efficient way possible.” But the aura of security and openness was further thrown into doubt in March when an FBI search warrant was issued at Kundra’s office. He was serving as the Chief Technology Officer of the District of Columbia before moving over to the White House.

During the transition, two of Kundra’s underlings, Yusuf Acar and Sushil Bansal, were charged in an alleged scheme of bribery, kickbacks, ghost employees, and forged timesheets. Kundra was put on leave for five days and then reinstated after the feds informed him that he was neither a subject nor a target of the investigation. Team Obama emphasized that Kundra had no idea what was going on in his workplace, which employed about 300 workers.

But if his claimed ignorance is supposed to exonerate Kundra, what does it suggest about his ability to police government technology operations across the entire federal government? And what responsibility and oversight exactly did Kundra have over the indicted employees in his office?

Veteran D.C. newspaper columnist Jonetta Rose Barras reported that Acar “was consistently promoted by his boss, Vivek Kundra, receiving with each move increasing authority over sensitive information and operating with little supervision.” The raid was no surprise to city and federal watchdogs, who had identified a systemic lack of controls in the office. Now, Kundra promises to create “a culture of accountability and innovation” in order to prevent “theft and fraud.” The anti-crime prevention strategy of Obama’s technology security chief: Takes one to know one.

The czar explosion illustrates the first law of political physics: As government grows, corruption flows. Unchecked, these super-bureaucrats have the power to wreak major havoc on the economy and our lives. Who will stop them?

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11. That’s the first time his ratings have reached double digits in negative territory (see trends).

These updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. Today is the first update based entirely upon interviews conducted after the President’s prime time televised press conference. The number who Strongly Approve of the President has remained unchanged since the press conference but the number who Strongly Disapprove has gone up by five percentage points (from 35% on Wednesday morning to 40% today).

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.

The President received generally poor grades for his response to a question about a Cambridge police incident involving a black Harvard professor. However, the results show a huge divide between black Americans and white Americans on all questions.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. President Obama’s numbers are always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That’s because some of the President’s most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote.

The President is now seen as politically liberal by 76%. That’s up six points from a month ago, 11 points since he was elected, and the highest total to date. Forty-eight percent (48%) now see him as Very Liberal, up 20 points since he was elected (Premium Members can see trends and crosstabs.)

The “Black Regiment” was a group of patriot-preachers from virtually every protestant denomination located throughout Colonial America at the time of America’s fight for independence who courageously preached the Biblical principles of liberty and independence. The moniker stems from the tendency of these patriot-preachers to wear long, black robes in their pulpits.

The inspiration for this directory comes from the scores of people throughout America who have contacted me asking if I knew of “Black Regiment” pastors in their respective cities. This directory is an attempt to help the many hundreds and thousands of Christians across America who desire to fellowship and worship with a courageous pastor who knows what is going on and is not afraid to preach truth to power. Men who are not enamored with political correctness or political parties. Men who love America’s Christian history and heritage. Men who support and defend the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. Men who preach the Bible and are not owned by committees. Men who do not grovel before the wealthy and affluent. These are the kinds of men who comprise the “Black Regiment.”

Each pastor on this list has read my initial appeal and has requested to be listed in this directory. If you are a pastor who wishes to be included in this list, please contact me. Plus, if you are a Christian who desires to find a “Black Regiment” pastor in your city, please let us know the city in which you live, and we will add it to our “looking” list.

Obviously, one will find various denominations and theological positions represented in this list. I am sure that I would not agree with some of the ministers on this list regarding various doctrines and methodology. I will leave it to each Christian to discern for himself the correctness, or lack thereof, of each ministry represented on this list. However, I rejoice over the efforts of any and all Christian ministers, regardless of denomination, who will courageously preach and promote the principles of liberty and independence. For the sake of this directory, we have added all those that requested to be included. As a disclaimer, I do not personally vouch for any of the ministries listed here.

Obama Birth Certificate Poll

AOL has a poll: “Should Obama release his birth certificate to the media?”

I just voted.

As of 12:45 pm, West coast time today, 43,856 people have voted. 82% say “yes,” 17% say “no,” and 1% are “not sure.”

So, there are 36,000 Americans who disagree with CNN President Jon Klein who told his staff last night that Obama’s birth certificate is a “dead” story, despite CNN anchor Lou Dobbs repeatedly drawing attention to this issue on his radio program.
