Actually, that program was started under George Bush in 2006. The troops were unarmed and were there to provide logistical support to the Border Patrol. This is merely a continuation of the same program. You can read about it here:

We’re “equal opportunity” critics here on Gio’s World. We’re not Republican or Democrat partisan slaves. We’re independent CONSERVATIVES who revere the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.
If you guys had looked at when Gio’s World began, you’d see that our fearless leader Giovanni began this blog last year in August during the prez campaign. If George W. were still president, and if he continued his asinine border and illegal aliens policy, Gio’s World would also jump all over his head!
He’s continuing/trying to fix what bush started. You cant just go cold turkey on some of these things right off the bat.

It’s not the media that wants it covered up. It’s the United States government. They don’t want the murderous drug trade to stop. It employees too many people, at all levels of government. And just think of the revenues the drug trade creates. Takeout the drug trade & the US economy will take a huge hit! Hell, the world economy would too! The US could care less about the voilence in Mexico, just as long as not all of it spills across the boarder to the US side. If they really wanted to stop it, then they’d beef up security like a man, & really send some troops there, instead to other countries that really don’t matter, unless they have oil, which is a whole other segment!
The US economy has already taken a huge hit thanks to the policies of The Traitor.
I’m sure Napolitano would agree with you since she couldn’t even protect, nor wanted to protect, the borders of AZ. Guess that’s why she’s in charge of Homeland Security…cuz, you know, we don’t want the drug wars to stop.

well actually the violence has come over the border. i live in las cruces, nm which is only 45min away from downtown el paso, tx. which has the entry port to juarez. there has been a lot of problems in el paso lately but you never see it on tv, only our local news. EVERYDAY on our local news we hear about people dying in juarez, the casualties are almost more than in iraq. and las cruces and el paso for YEARS have had problems not just with people but with drugs period, this place is a place for people to rot. everyone does drugs left and right, not just pot but EVERYTHING and its getting worse, people are starting out younger and younger now with hard drugs. if the whole u.s could only see in person not tv how bad things are then they’d be passing more laws like the one in az.
