Obama’s Honeymoon Over?

8 12 2008

Well, wouldn’t you know it, Brit Hume on Special Report, stole 24529565my thunder on this subject this evening. But I do have one-up on him, I have the liberals very own comments to share with you.

I must confess, I’m enjoying this one! Obama used the far left during the past two years and they came out in force for him. They sold their 1960’s era Volkswagen Hippie Vans and sent the proceeds to his campaign. Some even sold all their tie-dyed T-shirt collections and gave the money to his campaign. Then they showed up in droves to volunteer, and worked hard for his campaign. There were probably more drugs taken on election night to celebrate his victory than what was consumed at Woodstock. They were ecstatic. They finally had a true blue liberal as President, and to show their love and happiness over his victory, they sent the sales of Bongs, Pipes and rolling papers skyrocketing! They helped a small segment of our economy so maybe we owe them a debt of gratitude. Ok, I thought about that last sentence and decided…Nah! Personally, I would like to see all these businesses that sell this crap to go broke.

Anyway, it seems as if the liberals are not so happy with Obama’s picks for his cabinet, and they are going on the liberal blogs to vent their displeasure. Evidently they were hoping for some ‘Timothy Leary’ types to fill those positions, and instead are seeing nothing but old Clinton re-treads take their places in the Obama cabinet. As I mentioned, they are venting all over the place, and lucky for me, they are making very easy to copy their comments to post here.

So, in no particular order…. enjoy!

All the comments below are in response to a piece written by a Steve Hildebrand on one of the most liberal blogs. His piece is titled “A Message to Obama’s Progressive Critics”.

Steve says: “…This is not a time for the left wing of our Party to draw conclusions about the Cabinet and White House appointments that President-Elect Obama is making. Some believe the appointments generally aren’t progressive enough… After all, he was elected to be the president of all the people – not just those on the left, but…”

Here are the responses he got…

“The Left IS The People. Stop pretending that political ideology is like skin-color.”

If the left is “The People”, what are the rest of us, observers?

“Does balance and unity mean that progressives are excluded from the table all together when they are the ones largely responsible for his election?”

“I for one feel let down. I agree with another comment that a far better chocie would have been Dennis Kuncinich. The last thing we need is another hawk.”

Yeah, Dennis the Mennace would have been my choice too. LOL!

“I would feel much more comfortable with Feingold as Attorney General, Stiglitz as a leader of the economic team, Al Gore as Secretary of State and RFK Jr. as head of the EPA than those individuals chosen by Obama.”

The above picks are more than scary. Can you just imagine Al Gore as Sec of State. He would go around the world showing his stupid movie and signing Global Warming treaties.

“Progress in the present United States of America requires a move to the left. What is commonly considered moderate now, should be our right wing.”

Moderate as right wing? He/she has got to be joking!

“What about our soldiers in the Afghan quagmire? And our increasing involvement in Somalia? Our corporations’ involvement in the Congo atrocities? And our 760 military bases in 130 countries? Or are the pernicious effects of the U.S. global empire of concern only to progressives?”

Huh???

“I think “Left Wing” worked well to keep us in our box. I would prefer “enlightened” or “intellectually superior super patriot with visionary direction”

Is that not the funniest thing you’ve read in awhile?

“…is truly disturbing. Mr.Obama is looking more and more like yet another politico with no real interest in solving this country’s basic problems, instead focusing on what can be done to further enable the corporatists who have more or less stolen our government.”

These people have no idea what Communism looks like.

“Hey, what about us? Don’t forget to throw us a bone or some table scraps. Right now, his cabinet is a bunch of chicken hawks, washington insiders, retreads, zionists and social conservatives. That is NOT change!”

This too was a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy! Hehehehe…

“Very well said. I think O is already becoming unrecognizable as the democrat we elected.”

“The problem with the non-progressive wing of the democratic party is that they are a bunch of mealy-mouthed, triangulating appeasers who are embarassed by their own beliefs.”

I sort of agree with this one.

“Again, if you aren’t going to stand up for the social liberals when the dems have control, when are you. It as if I am being told to kiss off. “

Kiss off!

”If Obama turns out to be the Great Conciliator who fails to prosecute the Bush administration law breakers, I will never vote again”

I wish I could ask this person exactly what laws were broken by the Bush administration. I have heard this crap for almost 8 years now and I still have no clue as to which laws were broken.

“I have considered myself a Progressive and not a Liberal.”

And I have considered you stupid.

“And meanwhile, people have been disappeared in the US. Democrats have been jailed because they are Democrats.”

What?

“…my progessive beliefs have never been truly represented in Washington and never will be.”

Thank God!

“With China, Russia, Brazil, and other countries moving up the ladder of “success” while the U.S. continues it’s downward slide, the last thing we need is a pacifier to the Right.”

“If I were…, I would immediately begin a scorched-earth campaign to crush the venomous, treasonous, America-hating snakes on the right. It would unify the country only after a decisive victory had been achieved.”

Try it asshole, we are armed and willing.

“The end cannot justify the means, because generally the desired end is not produced — e.g., atrocities are committed as a road to utopia, but that merely leaves the roadside littered with corpses, and the road has a dead end at some bombed-out bridge. No, the “objective” conclusion is that we need to implement more of the left’s ideology.”

No, the “objective” conclusion is… you are nuts!

“Why did the GOP implode this year and in 2006? Answer – they were too conservative. By trying to push their ultra ultra-religious, anti-gay, anti-whatever idelogy.”

John McCain was too Conservative? What a joke!

————————————————-

Wasn’t that fun? If these people ever get what they want, I’m packing up my family and getting the heck out of here. Don’t know where I would go yet, but maybe it’s time I started to look into it.

The upside to all of this is… it appears that president elect Obama’s honeymoon is over, and I for one am enjoying this tremendously.

Also not released are Obama’s MEDICAL records.
But octogenarian John McCain released his medical records.
Wonder what’s contained in 47-year-old Obama’s medical records that is so damning??

Republican Mama for Obama

My well-worn paper back dictionary says that ‘vet’ means to examine or treat in the manner of a veterinarian ~ or to appraise, verify, and authenticate. Of course, i use the latter meaning when talking about Americans getting to know Obama as a candidate for POTUS over the past two years.

Possibly SOME Americans are impressed with their appraisal of his smarts and message of hope and unity, and this makes them feel he is authentic. No evil. No hidden agenda.

It looks like a lot of high-powered people are doing a very good job of the verifying part. The Supreme Court should have supported it so that we could have it decided about his apocryphal birth certificates once and for all, forever.

I do believe you will eventually root out everything else, except maybe the list of clients as they may all have to be dead before that can be released.

But on the flip side, how can anyone deny you your suspicion and vitriol? I would have felt the same way you do if Palin had been voted in to high office.

Mama,

You make a mistake. Sarah is an open book, and a refreshing one at that. Obama on the other hand is a closed book, but he gives a great speech. What we know of Obama’s background should scare the pants off of you. What we know of Sarah’s background should make you sleep better at night. Sarah is a patriotic American. Obama is questionable in this area.

Clear thinking people would naturally go with Sarah. Case closed!

Wait one second there girlfriend… “hope and unity, and this makes them feel he is authentic. No evil.”

Personally, I have always thought that racism is evil so I have never played that stupid game. If Obama believes in unity and he is NOT evil, then why did he attend a Church for almost 20 years that DID NOT ALLOW white people to attend. You do know that Rev. Wright kicked the white members out don’t you? I mean it’s fact and all that, so you must know this.
