Obama’s Jackbooted Thugs

21 10 2008

From the Lufkin Texas newspaper:

Date: 10/12/2008 7:37:54 PM

Subject: Secret Service in Lufkin, TX

On Wednesday the 1st of October I received a call on my cell while in the car with my husband. It was a woman who identified herself as calling from the Obama Campaign.  The phone # she called from was 903-798-6020 which lists as ‘Obama Volunteers of Texarkana ‘ ( Texas ).

She asked if I was an Obama supporter to which I replied: ’No, I don’t support him, your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the State Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time.’  I hung up.

Thursday, October 2, I answered the front door to find the Secret Service. Immediately I thought of the call and was furious that apparently you are not allowed to call Obama a Socialist without the
Secret Service coming to investigate. Instead, they asked me about the following comment, relayed by the Obama Volunteer of Texarkana who called me, unsolicited on my cell phone: ’I will never support Obama and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor.’

My husband laughed and told them, “No, she called him a socialist but she never said a word about him dying.” I gave them my actual quote. The woman asked insolently, “Oh? Well why would she make that up?”

I replied that I supposed she wasn’t happy about what I said about her candidate and the Agent said, “That’s right, you were rude!” The last time I checked being rude wasn’t a crime in America.

Luckily the big file they had gathered on me didn’t indicate mental instability or a past life of stalking/crime, however they did want to know how I felt about Obama. That was my limit. I told the Agent in no uncertain terms that my thoughts were not pertinent to their investigation, that this was America and the last time I checked I was allowed to think whatever I wanted without being questioned by the Secret Service. In fact, even if I had said what she claimed, that isn’t a threat. I told them (again) and my husband verified that the statement reported by Obama’s volunteer was a lie. I asked them if there was a tape of the call and they said no. I said, ‘So on the word of a ticked off Obama supporter you are on my porch with no other evidence and you want to question me about my THOUGHTS!?’

They informed me that there was no evidence she was an Obama supporter; someone calling from his campaign are you kidding?

I was not allowed to know the name of my accuser at which point they informed me that it wasn’t like I was in a court of law, YET, as if this was a good thing. I recognized this as a veiled threat. I told them I would happily go to court since I did nothing wrong and at least then my accuser would have to face me rather than sending the thought police to my house.

They then said they were trying to do me a favor, that they came to me first before embarrassing you by going to all your neighbors and family, another threat? I told them to be my guest and talk to whomever they wanted, but they weren’t going to investigate my thoughts on my porch.

They also informed me that it would be easier if the next time a supporter calls me I just say ‘Yeah sure count me in, or just hang up’ apparently so she won’t get her undies in a bundle and give them more useless trips.  Yeah right.  I said ‘Look, someone calls me unsolicited on my cell phone to ask me to support their candidate and I can’t tell them why I don’t?’  I said I was sorry they made a wasted trip, but if they had a problem with some made up lie they needed to go talk to her about it because it wasn’t my fault they had to drive from Houston for nothing.

At one point I went inside and got a notepad to record their badge numbers and they refused to show me their badges. They had done the quick flip when they arrived. I asked for a card and the female Agent refused to give me one stating, “You’re not going to get a card.” The male Agent gave me a card and told me I could contact Houston with any questions.

The fact that the volunteer lied, the fact that the Secret Service came to my house to question me about my thoughts and feelings, and threaten to embarrass me to my neighbors, and go to court if I didn’t cooperate is not really the tragedy here. Because that girl on the phone doesn’t have the pull to send the Secret Service to my home. Someone high in the ranks of a campaign working for a man who may be the next President of the United States of America felt comfortable bringing the force of the Federal Government to bear on a private citizen on nothing but the word of a partisan volunteer.

I wanted to file a counter complaint that false charges were made, that a false report was given to a peace officer. The Secret Service told me I cannot because they will protect the identity of the
complainant. I also want the file they have on me destroyed and I want to know that my phone isn’t tapped, etcetera.  I am hearing a lot of “Out of my Jurisdiction”.

Do I also hear jackboots?

This story is an obvious fake, and is intended to be a follow-up to the “Joe the Plumber” disaster that McCain unleashed on Obama. Well, it’s not working.

Well people that are arming up with guns and ammo because of an election this is what I call simply knowing when your candidate is about to lose. I heard these same stories four years ago from democrats about how bad their world was going to get. But what I see mostly now is fears of discrimination and racism. Any person that is a minority, immigrant, or a woman has been targeted by hate. Now I see the “white” people of the republican party spewing fear and needing guns? This is so similar to the big Y2K fear…nothing happened. Just vote for your candidate and stop trying to come up with manufactured fears.

Hey Ed and Alex……….ya ever notice it’s not the white Repubs who do the rioting……………….that’s not racist. That’s the G.D. Truth…………………and I’m prepared to live with it………………when they come for your white liberal ass you tell em how you hate Whitey……………………that will help…. Kiss your ass goodbye, if you get caught in that storm.. bye bye

Woman (McCain volunteer) Attacked At ATM, Assailant Scratches Letter Into Her Face
http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/17789356/detail.html
UPDATED: 7:09 pm EDT October 23, 2008
PITTSBURGH — A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, apparently because of her political views, police said.

According to WTAE’s news exchange partners the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday when a man approached her and put a knife to her throat.

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard said the robber took $60 from Todd, THEN BECAME ANGRY WHEN HE SAW A MCCAIN BUMPER STICKER ON THE VICTIM’S CAR. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.

Eowyn: Well now I know. However labelling me as “uninformed” for not knowing what she meant when portraying a congressional bill in such a sensational manner isn’t really fair. Had she said what you did I (and the caller, surely) would have known what she was talking about.
Abortion is a hot button issue for many of you. It’s not for me nor is it obviously for that caller and if the emotionally charged rhetoric you employ when discussing it is not on the tip of my tongue that doesn’t make me uninformed, it means I don’t share your priorities. I doubt you or anyone else are familiar with the vote of each candidate on ever piece of legislation they voted on, but if the issue mattered to me I wouldn’t declare you uniformed if I angrily blurted out a statement like that and you misconstrued it.
Many leftists I debate on the war say things like Bush sent soldiers to kill babies and steal their oil, if I say “excuse me, what the heck was that about?” I would laugh that my response makes me uninformed, regardless of how many other war critics instantly understand what that meant.

Slicedsky:

“and John, you are no republican, let alone any kind of a sane thinking person.

Just my opinion”

Your opinion would weigh more heavily should you expand on which issue motivated that. I can assume which but won’t waste time stabbng in the dark.

Sticking as close to the topical issue as possible I might remind everyone that making threats against the President or a man steps away from the office are a very serious matter and the normal procedures like probable cause followed by other agencies like the FBI for initiating investigatons are out the window. Perhaps your dislike and disrespect for Obama has this fact escaping your mind.

(indeed, as SlicedSky states the opinion that Obama is not legally qualified as a candidate, this implies that he would not deserve the level of protection a President requires)

Anyway the point there is that whatever happened with this he said she said BS isn’t thej focus, what should be is a threat against the President/candidate have little bearing on what federal agencies will be doing in day to day operations against US citizens. The SS is not one of those agencies.

The FBI is and the Bush administration just allowed the FBI to make sweeping new changes allowing that agency to initiate investigations on Americans with no probable cause existing that any crime has been committed whatsoever. This includes surveillance, starting reports on us, and hiring informants to gather information.

So while you can use sheer baseless speculation of the future under the opposition candidate, had you paid attention to the news you would see that the incumbant has already made this official policy.

Thus if this precise issue is what you are really concerned with, not blindly siding with this person from the story because you share the “R” party or her beliefs on abortion, you might just want to take a look at who is really sending out the jack booted thugs on us.

And check that thought on who is really uninformed. Maybe I’m not a Republican, call the California GOP and tell them, my polling materials say I am. I am first and foremost an American, and vote the issues that matter to me- not what my party or anyone in it insists I should.

Government computers used to find information on Joe the Plumber
Investigators trying to determine whether access was illegal
Friday, October 24, 2008 8:57 PM
By Randy Ludlow
The Columbus Dispatch
http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/24/joe.html?sid=101

“Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate. Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department. It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.”

In 1985, I was in the Navy. My son was in a group therapy session one day when the facilitator asked what someone could do to become famous. After everyone cured cancer, brought peace to the world, and all of the usual stuff they spewed to the people running the program to keep the people happy, they came to my son. He responded thatif someone killed the president, they sure would be famous.

The next morning, I am called to my Commanding Officers’ office and he introduces me to two Secret Service agents, with a look of no slight look of confusion on his face. They spent two days investigating this nonsense bcause the moderator call them statingthat m son had threatened the President. These men had`to waste their precious time because this woman wanted to make a name for herself.

That’s a very good point, Eowyn, because in the past it would not have been allowed for the FBI or its personnel to pull that info without due cause.
Now, thanks to Bush, they can for any reason that pops into their head- well actually they don’t even need to go to that much trouble, they don’t need a reason at all.

@John:

If your point is that you do not like or approve of Bush the Younger, then join the club. I believe George W. will go down in history as one of the worst U.S. presidents. He is most certainly NOT a conservative, having bloated government spending & powers to an obscene level that would horrify our Founding Fathers. The only credit I give him for is that we haven’t had another terrorist attack in the homeland since 9-11.

That being said, McCain-Palin are NOT George W. Bush. Thank God.

LA County Sheriff Says Palin noose doll not hate crime
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-palineffigy28-2008oct28,0,541630.story

“A West Hollywood Halloween display showing a likeness of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin hanging by a noose has caused a furor among some residents who reported it as a hate crime, authorities said Monday.

But Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said the mannequin sporting a beehive hairdo, glasses and a red coat does not rise to the level of a hate crime because it was part of a Halloween display.”

Umm. Any bets that the LA County sheriff’s attitude would be entirely different if the hanging mannequin is an Obama likeness?

John,

Good one!! I don’t believe this crap for a second, I bet she DID make a threat.
All of you “I thought this was America” morons should hit the streets and keep walkin till you float on out of here. I know you all hate the ELITE but we have a president with a BRAIN now and you will have to wait your turn to put another retarded, spoiled, frat boy with a grudge in office.

Thanks Jim,

If you are an example of the elite, then elitism has sunk to a new low. Obama is a moron, all he’s got is a gift of gab. The rest is all makeup.

Jim,

Why do libs like you keep insisting that critics of Obama automatically are fans of George W.? Please provide evidence of this on the many many posts on Giovanni’s World?

Only extremely small-sized brains think in either/or.

We don’t!

Another thing, Jim,

You insist that Obama has, as you put it, “a BRAIN” — meaning that you think he’s a super intellect.

Really?

He doesn’t even understand basic economics — as in a government program can never be self-sustaining because a government program, by definition, is subsidized by taxpayers and, therefore, is not self-sustaining!

Some big BRAIN he has. LOL
